Adopted Human The CDS really did their big one. ❤️

Truly came right on time. Posted about her a couple weeks ago. She found when I was taking a walk around my neighborhood & followed me home. She’s so sweet & affectionate. All she wants is love & space to get her zoomies out. She got her first set of shots & will be following up soon for boosters & microchip ! I will get her spayed but she really won’t be an outdoor kitty. She’s now ) months & I gave her the birthday March 31 (so we can be Aries together 🔥). We take the longest naps & she’s always there, right by my side. I love you Silva, my princess & precious. Thank you for adopting me & calling me your own.

That’s all. Have a great weekend. 💕

My time finally came. Meet my sweet dear, Bella.

She came to me in a “free cat” post. I don’t know if it’s technically CDS.
I arrived to this horrible beat up trailer. It was also very small and idk how two cats and two people could live there. It wasn’t a good place for her. I was actually going to go adopt one at the humane society but when I saw her I instantly fell in love and had to have her.
I bought her so many things already. She has a vet visit next week. That’s the earliest appointment they had. She hid behind my bookshelf for about three hours then came out meowing. She drank water and then ate. Then she explored a little and now she’s cuddling with me. I love her so much.

Awarded a Cat Little Kitten Followed Is Home from a Walk…

Post image
372 Upvotes

I feel like this keeps happening to us. We were out for a walk last night and this guy ran up to us and followed us home. We were hoping he had a home so we fed him and sent him on his way. Tonight we were out for a walk and thought he was not coming and out of nowhere he was at my feet. He bolted like lightning to us. Got him some more food and since we have a cold front coming tonight he came in with us. Currently he’s in quarantine in our spare bathroom until he can be tested and cleared. We are calling him Oliver for now, but I’m sure he will get 10 different names like all the others…

CDS finally struck - kitten found in car engine

I always wondered when it would be our turn to get chosen by the CDS.

Throughout the day today, my daughter had been hearing meowing outside, which is unusual as there are not many outside cats where we live. When she was getting ready to leave for work, lo and behold, this sweet baby was stuck inside her car’s engine. She was crying for help, and couldn’t get back out.

We grabbed some churus from inside, and fed her through the gaps. At first, we hoped that we could lure her back out with treats, but it quickly became clear that she was stuck. My husband had to spend at least 20mins unbolting things before we could pry her out. Finally, we made a large enough gap, and she could get her head out. I gently grabbed her by her scruff, and pulled her out from there.

She is SO sweet, gentle, friendly, and affectionate. It kinda breaks my heart, and I already love her. But, we have a big old sweet boy, who does not get along with other cats. He bullied our other cat so relentlessly that we had to re-home her. So, I’m really hoping her owners will turn up. I’ve been posting everywhere locally, but no hits yet. Wish us luck!

It just started to be in the 30s at nighttime so this feels like perfect timing. I was just wondering if anyone can tell how old she is? She seems like 3 months but im not sure and want to know if she still drinks milk or not. Red cup for size comparison lol shes teeny. She also has fleas but i read that 2 months is too young for flea medication but even if shes like 3 months i was still planning on using dawn dish soap to clean her cuz its more gentle. The inside of her ears are very dirty, does anyone have tips on how to clean them. Thank you everyone!

My friend/ex (L) never went long without a cat. CDS always made sure he had at least one.

Sadly, my friend did a thing and went to prison and was in for 7 years. I’m his ex, and his POA, and mostly his only PERSON, and I continued living in the house while he was gone.

I had various CDS deliveries, and we joked it was CDS “just sending kittens to [his] last known address.” Made as much sense as anything but ffs I had ten cats for a second there, and some of those were CDS deliveries to ME…

Anyway. He got out on Wednesday. And a cat we had before he went in was approaching the bridge…. I brought the aging sad ready-to-find-peace cat to L’s temporary housing for just a little bit for him to have a chance to say goodbye before her vet appointment. Many many tears, I cannot even express the sadness and “thank you for holding on one more day for me” of it all.

Today is Friday. I ran an errand. I got home in time to thank FedEx for a delivery. And I stood in the yard in the kind of peaceful breeze… and heard a distinct MEW!!!

I followed the sound… and followed… and followed … I know the neighborhood ferals(°) often have their kittens under the neighbor’s old pool deck. (The pool is fully drained and it’s in terrible repair and has its own biome developing)

From a break in the privacy fence, I spied the situation. A tiny orange fluffball in the (dry!) shallow end of the pool… and just having a scream about it all.

I let myself into my neighbor’s yard and dropped down into the pool, scooped up the fluff, and saw myself carefully back out.

I texted my friend, at his temporary housing. (See pics)

Behold, the power of the CDS as an inmate returns to the loud chaos that is Outside Life, feeling a million miles more human now that he has a tiny demanding floof. I am watching a large 50-ish-year-old man weep as this handful of fuzz purrs itself to sleep on his chest.

Thank you, CDS!
(°) a friend of mine has kitty traps and know how to reach the right TNR people. We’re gonna limit the flow of kittens in the coming weeks.

Update This is the one year update on the transformer triplets (Bumblebee, Optimus and Megatron)

Well, it's been a wild and crazy year, plus a few months, since we rescued our little (pregnant) Jenny from the tree in front of our house exactly one week after our previous kitty passed. We had never seen another cat on our property in seven years before she showed up so it was quite the coincidence. They are all happy and healthy and fixed and living their best lives. A four cat household is a handfull, but we're doing our best to provide for them. A few cat towers and multiple litter boxes helps a bunch.

All of that aside, we couldn't imagine a world without them in it now. Bumblebee the tuxedo has become my best buddy in a way no other cat ever has. He's my happy little shadow. The rest are amazing too, so happy and bubbly and playful. I just wish they would stop being all three of these things at 2:30am :) We wouldn't change a thing, however, and consider ourselves lucky beyond belief.

Four cats is a lot of time, work and a fair ammout of expense, so I wouldn't recommend unless you are prepared to handle these situations. I also highly recommend pet insurance, as the vet bills can add up fast and that's just with basic routine maintenance!

But we adore them and they seem to feel the same way about us. We're so happy for our Mommy and her little surprise kittens, and I just wanted to pass along this little update to anyone who remembers my story from last summer. Cheers!

My birthday gift update! May update

Not sure if anyone remembers little May who was found in our driveway at 3 weeks old on my birthday this year, but just wanted to give an update to anyone interested. She ended up having a pretty severe eye infection when we found her. We were able to get it cleared up but she has permanent scarring on her eyes. Fortunately, she is able to see pretty well. She has some problems with distance, but that doesn't stop her.

May is the cutest kitten in the world. That's a fact. Fight me. She is so playful and is constantly terrorizing her big brother (he lets her). May is also so incredibly sweet. After hand raising her she is attached to both my boyfriend and I. She regularly sleeps between us on her little blue pillow.

Her nicknames now include, Mayday, Itty Bitty Kitty, Princess, Princess Tinyfeet, and last but definitely not least, The Demon Froglegs. Sometimes the demon possesses her and she turns into a wild thing. We still love Froglegs, just have to approach with caution.

Update Updating on my 4th of July rescue

Baby nimbus was a 4th of july rescue by our neighbors with the agreement we would take her if she was caught. We got her. She has been the sweetest cat for a street kitty, most affectionate, and most chaotic cat we’ve had. Minor food issues but every cat has a quirk. (basically just obsessed with human food, used to fight the toddler over chicken nuggets and we’ve since fixed that) She purrs all the time, and gets along with her new siblings. I still think my sassy cat sent this little lady to rule the house in her place. Last picture is their first time meeting the day after we got her.
She’s also best friends with my toddler, and lets my kid man handle her all the time. (I try to stop it and separate them and the damn cat runs back for my kid to do it again.)
Brie Nimbus, joined the cheese mafia of our cats because that spot was meant to be hers.

From feral to family Goblin glowup: From wormy little goblin baby to elegant goblin princess

Before: Crusty little baby screaming under a tarp in a friend's front yard in 2023. It just so happened that my husband was visiting a friend back where we used to live, and just so happened to hear small screaming... because he just so happened to step outside at the right time.

After: She won't let us go to bed until she's had enough time with the laser pointer in 2026. She's also trained us that wet food time is 4pm. Period.

She still screams, too. It worked once so it works every time, apparently. I've had cats all my life and I have never, ever had one this vocal. Mouthy, even. She talks back.

The CDS has picked my boyfriend

We woke up to some new friends this morning! The new baby girl Sausage brings all the boys to the yard. I’m sure the fact that my bf has been feeding them hasn’t hurt the cause. I guess we have some new furbabies to look after.

I am thinking it’s time to build a shelter for the winter months and probably look into some T&R options. I think I am dating the male Selena Kyle.

It is seriously crushing me that I can’t just open the back door and let them all in right now. Guess I’ll have to settle for the snuggles I get from the indoor babies.

Adopted Human Meet Elote Maize - the cat under my bed right now.

Post image
21 Upvotes

Say hello to Elote Maize.

Nickname ideas so far: Corny, Mexican Street Corn Corn, Corn Maze, Corn Star, Papi Corn (if its a boy - ive been calling it "girl" but it's too spicy and fluffy to tell yet)

A week ago I heard a cat crying, next morning as i left for work, i saw the huge mat in the middle of her back. She was still around 10 hrs later, and with 4 hands we quickly cut it off.

She stuck around. Probably born under on of the neighborhood houses. I sought rescue options but there are a lot of strays in worse shape around here, so they're maxed out.

Friendly-ish feral kitty wasn't satisfied with my porch and snuck in past my 2 dogs and other cat to go hide under my bed on Tuesday. A babygate keeps the dogs out when I'm gone and she has access to food/water.

My cat, Pidgeon, is not amused, but she never is. She forgets that she, too, was born under my neighbor's house and brought inside.

So i guess now I have another cat. My child of the corn.

EDIT: She weighs 294g!!!

Look at the little mite!! My husband was working this morning and saw it unsteadily move from the shoulder down into the ditch by a foot or two.

It had a very near miss today as he was running implements, but thankfully it was very easy to spot.

But this little angel was in the middle of nowhere during near freezing temps. It’s spent the day sleeping behind him, getting stuck in his jacket, and is now asleep in his jacket on the floor. It pokes its head out once in a while to check on him and then goes back to sleep ❤️

From feral to family Our cat of 5 years has decided just now to become a baker

5ish years ago we met this cat, covid evictions in the neighborhood led to her sleeping on the porch of a bunch of suckers (thats what we called ourselves anyways). Here we are 5 years later and all this time shes eating better than we do, knocking on the cat door until we let her in, being towel dried when it rains, brushed on the daily, and more love than she ever wanted. Her name is Madison Square Garden (government name). Madison has recently, within the last few days, started making biscuits. Its incredibly adorable but I am not sure why she started it out of no where. Never had an interest in baking before now. Nothing has changed in her life to bring forth this behavior... is she literally just now feeling comfortable enough to make biscuts 😂 ? We always tease her about being ungrateful but dang

I've always had dogs, but went with a friend to meet someone giving away kittens and this guy climbed onto my shoulder. He wouldn't let me put him down.

They were giving away three kittens, and we went there just to look and possibly take one, but all three ended up coming with us. They were all bonded with each other already and we just couldn't break them apart.

He was meowing the whole ride home, so I've named him Shadow, named for M. Shadows of Avenged Sevenfold, tiny little vocalist.

(My dog was named Zacky after Zacky Vengeance.)

Adding to the starter kit Got this orange boy showing up at my back door. Is it too late?

Thumbnail

Long story, short: I'm in a temporary living situation and the people I'm living with told me about this little boy who's been showing up at our back door. He's sweet and friendly, and seems healthy. I want to take him in and take him with me when I move out on my own, and I've been reading up on local Humane Society locations I can take him to, but my housemates are warning me that he might be too old to be neutered and still prevent spraying. I'm also worried about what I can do with him during recovery. My housemates already have three cats and two huskies, and I'm worried over a bunch of different details about bringing him in: is this too many animals for our house, how do I keep him safe from the dogs and other cats while I'm living here, what do I do about a dedicated litter box for him when I barely have room for myself. Not to mention I feel really bad about imposing on the people I'm living with asking to bring a stray into their home.

I know no one can really advise on my living situation, but I would like some advice on what I can do with the cat. Is it actually too late to get him fixed and prevent spraying? How can I keep him safe during recovery and over the winter if I can't bring him in yet?

Adopted Human Madalena & Margô — the friendship that taught me about trust. 🤍🐾

Thumbnail

I care for a cat colony, and Madalena was the very first cat to show up here. I fell in love with her almost immediately, but she wanted nothing to do with me. She wouldn’t come close, and she wouldn’t even eat the food I left out for her.

Then came Margô. 🤍

MargĂ´ was part of the colony too, and when she brought her babies here, her story became part of ours. But something beautiful happened along the way: her friendship with Madalena.

It was through MargĂ´ that Madalena slowly began to trust me. Their friendship became the bridge between her fear and the trust she eventually learned to place in me. Little by little, she started feeling safe, and she stayed.

The other cats from the colony come and go, wandering around and living their own little adventures, but these two girls are always here. They have become a constant presence in my life, and their bond is something truly special to witness. ❤️

When Margô had her kittens, I tried bringing her inside the house while I rescued and cared for the babies. Unfortunately, she couldn’t adapt to being indoors. She was extremely stressed and would attack me, so I had to accept that living inside simply wasn’t right for her. Loving a cat also means respecting who they are, even when we wish we could give them a different life.

Now, Margô’s babies are already four months old, and they are still here, waiting for their forever homes. They are available for adoption, and I truly hope each one of them will find a family to love them for the rest of their lives. 🥹🤍

And now, I have some important plans for Madalena and MargĂ´.

I want to have both girls spayed, especially MargĂ´, because her kittens are already four months old and she could go into heat again at any time. I want to prevent another pregnancy and protect her from having to go through another litter.

I also plan to get GPS trackers for their collars, so I can have a better idea of where they go when they wander around, and I want to have both girls microchipped in my name. They may be part of a colony, but they are also two very special girls whose safety and well-being matter deeply to me.

I can’t force Margô to become an indoor cat, and I can’t make every cat trust me overnight. But I can do my best to protect them, care for them, and make sure they have the safest and happiest lives possible.

Sometimes, we become part of an animal’s story in ways we never expected. I thought I was simply caring for a colony, but Madalena and Margô have given me something much more personal.

Margô helped Madalena trust me. And together, these two girls have found a place in my heart that will always belong to them. 🤍🐈🐈

Their story is still being written, and I hope the next chapters will bring safety, good health, and a lifetime of little moments together.

Because even when we cannot give every cat a home inside our house, we can still make sure they know they are cared for. ❤️🐾

Cookies nutty putty cave rescue

Applogies for the bad photos my phones cameras cheap

Anywho

A feral tortie cookie decided to have her babies in a 6 inch gap between 2 fences which worked out till it rained a few weeks later

In her wisdom she moved them under the house but decided that placing them in a hollow under the stairs was the right call

However she realised afterwards she couldnt fit in there too

So it was time to summon cat dad .

Where i had to tear down the wood panelling and crawl 6 ft into a space thr size of nutty putty cave to get them out , placing them in a bed nearby o then closed off thr offending area so she cant be dumb again .

So welcome

Orange cat , blondie

Tuxedo, agent smith,

Black void , oracle v.2

Tortie , cola

Yes she had a full spectrum of kitten

Luckily now they all are nursing , dry and safe

What to do with this affectionate cat?

Post image
281 Upvotes

I started putting a bowl of food outside my house (Appartment). I don't see which cats come to eat but this one cat is always outside and just wants to cuddle.

Naturally, I've become attached to her and feel like she might enjoy a home. However, my cat is really hostile towards her and doesn't allow her inside the house. She's also pretty happy outside and has alot of cat friends.

I thought of letting her into the house to cuddle and maybe play and letting her leave when she wants to. But my cat isn't getting to used to her and her scent and the only way to make them get used to each other is by keeping her inside the house. I would prefer for her to be able to leave, so maybe keeping her inside for 2 weeks until they get used to each other and then let her roam free. But my sister thinks she might become terretorial towards the house and not want to leave anymore. We don't want to keep her inside permanently because she seems happy outside. There are of course other considerations, like not sure if we want to commit etc.. that would make that a better option.

What should we do?

Awarded a Cat Took the trash to the dumpster, she jumped into my car door. I have been chosen.

I already love her so much, I’m stuck on names though lol.

Typically when I take trash out I leave my door open to my car bc I put the bags in my passenger seat lol. Idk it just makes life easier to me.

Heard a raspy meow, turned around, this girl was just standing there staring at me. I had to go to work and had to leave her alone for 2 hours, she did great even with the dogs being here.

She’s insanely friendly, very soft and very cuddly. I’m going to check around the neighborhood and make sure nobody’s missing a cat for the next couple weeks. Not fixed, no collar. She’s currently curled up in my lap while I’m eating dinner nice and cozy zzz

Two little devils caught in a rare moment of calm—usually, they’re bouncing off the walls!

These two cats randomly showed up in our yard one day when they were maybe two or three months old, and they’ve been with us ever since. We still have no idea where they came from.

We didn’t adopt them—they adopted us. They walked in like they owned the place, and honestly, they’ve been running the house ever since. We’re just here to serve food and provide entertainment. 😂🐾

Sometimes I wonder if they planned the whole thing: “Let’s try this yard. The humans look easy to train.” A little meowing, a few innocent looks, and suddenly they had free meals and their own staff. Pretty good deal for two tiny troublemakers.

Awarded a Cat First time Cat owner with Small Student-apartment got Chosen.

So Jack here decided back in March that i was interesting enough to spend time with, i took him to the Vet and he was not Chipped or marked in any way and not neutered.

So we decided to spend some time together in my apartment. However my apartment is very small (27m2) so i would each evening when i go to bed, give him some food and gently move him outside again. He comes back in the morning and repeats.

Fast forward to recently and I found out he once had an owner for half a year until something happened which i do not know and he ended up running away from home. I talked to the previous owner and he said i could keep him if i wanted to but he could also pick him up otherwise. Jack comes back every day and loves to cuddle and sleep in my apartment and i have been charmed. So i ended up saying that i would like to keep him. Jack is about 1.5 years old. Very baby.

However ever since that i have felt absolutely terrible each evening when i move him outside. I plan on getting him a cathouse outside at some point but as a student the funds are not great and i am moving in about a year as i finish studies (and taking him with me).

I just wanted to tell my story and wanted to know if there are some tips to help me feel more at ease. I am doing everything i can to give him what i can. He gets cat food, anti-tick medicin. And i will have him chipped, neutered, and vaccinated at some point too.

This is my first cat that i have to take care of myself and i am really trying my best.

Edit i see a lot of people want me to move him inside permanently. I could technically do so but i am just worried he might become bored with so little space when he is used to the outdoors. I also have very little space for a litterbox. It could technically stay in my shower but there is not a lot of space and there should be room for me too. I think everything will become great once i move into something bigger late next year.

Smol Delivery Say hello to the Marvelous Miss Moxie!

Thumbnail
gallery
771 Upvotes

A few weeks ago, after a string of particularly bad luck, my wife woke me up at 5am on a Sunday morning to tell me a kitten had wandered in through the front door.

We kept her in quarantine while we looked at lost pet groups and called shelters to see if anyone was missing her. Our local vet took her vitals, gave her the first round of kitten shots, and tested for FIV and leukemia- all came back clear.

After a few more days of searching, it was pretty clear that nobody was missing a little snowshoe Siamese kitten. We named her Moxie, and she has been living up to that name every day since. 😂

Don't let her tiny size or adorableness fool you, Moxie is fearless. We have four other cats, and she has won all of them over. We also have three dogs, all of whom love to play with the cats- but unlike every other cat, Moxie will NOT run when the dogs come bounding at her at top speed, eager to play, much to their puzzlement. 😝

She now has all her shots, a glow-in-the-dark breakaway collar with a little bell, a harness (that she actually tolerates pretty well), a sling hammock for when she is feeling clingy but I got chores to do, and a pile of toys she has somehow kept hidden from the rest of the menagerie. 😂
