Questions/Advice Daily ticket season pass upgrade

I purchased daily tickets from Groupon for 65 a piece for me and my daughter and will be visiting the park tomorrow. I know I can upgrade to a silver or gold pass during my visit. Are the park prices for season pass same as the online prices ? Silver is 79 and Gold is 99 on the website right now.

Also, will I be able to get a credit for parking ?

Before building its hotel, Cedar Fair had much bigger plans for the property. The original vision included an entire youth sports complex. Here’s a rendering of what could have been.

Most people want Carowinds to get AF1 not Great Adventure? I think it should go to Great Adventure.

Questions/Advice Fury 325 and Thunder Striker concerns

Hey all, me and my friends are going to Carowinds this Saturday and we are worried that fury 325 and thunder Striker will not be open. We have moved the ticket from the week prior due to the storm, but because it’s a Scarowinds specific ticket, our fast pass ultimate will not be allowed to be modified outside of the month of October, and we are out of town the 24th and 31st. Is there anyway we can move our ticket outside of the timeline if it’s not Scarowinds specific without insurance? And has anyone heard anything about the timeline that thunder Striker and fury 325 or believed to open back up? Thank you so much.

Questions/Advice What to expect for the Tricks and Treats event for kids at Carowinds?

Is the day time "tricks and treats" any good for kids? we are coming at opening on sunday and I was not sure what expectations I should have for myself and my kids - three kids between 3 and 5. We were going to dress up and they would bring small buckets for candy. Is that even worth it?

Also, will all the Camp Snoopy rides be open during the day for the kids?

Questions/Advice Scarowinds Gold bring-a-friend

Our family has gold passes and are planning to go to Scarowinds this weekend, but we plan to bring other family members using the bring-a-friend discount. I saw somewhere that you can add the tickets ahead of visit in the Six Flags app, but I don’t see where that option is. Can anyone tell me where to look for adding bring a friend tickets?

I assume the bring-a-friend ticket prices go up as you get closer to the date so I’d rather not chance getting them at the gate.

Thanks for any help or advice.

Questions/Advice employee laughed off faulty latch - is this worth reporting to anyone?

visited carowinds yesterday and on the very first ride (carolina cyclone, goes inverted multiple times and is old af which i think may be relevant idk) my lap belt wouldn’t latch because the little locking mechanism wouldn’t engage. the attendant worked on it for quite some time before getting it to finally latch and said “yeah, this one never works right. it gives us problems every single time. it won’t come undone though, promise” and laughed. the overhead shoulder harness worked so she moved right along.

so this is a known issue and yall are like yeah, it’s cool, promise????

now that time has passed i’m thinking more clearly and after having seen the recent horrible news at six flags over georgia i am feeling pretty freaked out and like it’s a matter of time before something bad happens in nc.

is this something i can report to have it checked out?

I’m looking to see how it is this year. Do they have a good amount of workers scaring people or is it like previous years where you would go a good gape with nothing.

Rip Roarin Falls Construction Update

Being built by WhiteWater West of British Columbia. They have done rides all over the world and spent a lot of their recent years building the Middle East.

The ride will feature 13 boats/block zones and is designed for high capacity.

There will be a separate area for ADA boarding and those boats will be transferred onto the track. Exit and loading areas are also separate.

The boats share more in common with roller coasters than log flumes. They feature a track with guide wheels.

The restraints will be lap bars and electronically controlled. Ride employees will not need to release them. There won't be any seat belts.

Boats will travel forwards and backwards. It will be the tallest log flume drop at 100 feet, the tallest reverse drop at 42 feet, and the tallest reverse camelback at 32 feet. It will take 6 1/2 minutes to ride.

Boats have been designed with excellent drainage and are built of long-lasting materials (not just fiberglass like most log flumes).

Total riders per hour has not been finalized until testing is complete.

Total gallons of water has not been finalized until all the reservoirs are finished.

There will be four large river pumps and three smaller shoal pumps that handle the hills.

There will be onboard audio.

Riders will enter next to Fury.

The ride has redundant sensors...both photo optical and boat proximity.

The ride is themed to an abandoned lumber mill that has been taken over by critters running amuck, including Raccoons.

Assembly is about 75% complete. Most of the time involved is in installing all the hardware... torquing the bolts, installing rollers, etc. The next phase is the control systems and it will go through an extensive test phase to make sure all 13 boats can be in the ride at the same time. Construction is targeted to finish in November.

  4. Have they have considered putting a tilt coaster where Nighthawk was? Yes
  5. What is the plan for Dinosaur Alive area? Those plans they are keeping in their pocket
  6. Are there any plans to bring concerts back to Palladium next year? No, they aren’t any plans, but they would not turn down an opportunity like Coke brought to them a few years ago

  8. No plans to announce new attractions anytime soon
  9. What is the future of SilverScreen studios? Future of mazes is being discussed and no official plans yet
  10. Are there any plans to relocate Harley Quinn from the closed Six Flags America to Carowinds? Opportunity hasn’t come up
  11. What rides have been the most challenging for maintenance? Electro Spin and Gear Spin
  12. They just recently revamped paint and decor in Boo Blasters this year
  13. Why is there a Vortex train under Fury lift? It’s an extra train, but some of their normal maintenance areas are closed due to the log flume construction

  19. Why didn’t they remove the nighthawk footers? Because it is incredibly expensive, they would rather spend the money improving current guest experience, and they will deal with it when a new attraction comes to that area
  20. Have they thought about relocating the ice rink to where Nighthawk was? Yes, but it would take a lot of logistics and money
  21. Will they reopen the Nighthawk shortcut path? To be determined when they do a new attraction

Questions/Advice Any bring a friend available for today?

We came out of state for a weekend with my son to visit White Water Center on Saturday and Carowinds on Sunday. All tickets were purchased upfront. White Water Center activities are closed today, and Carowinds passes are only for Sunday ( bought with Groupon). I don’t know what to do today. Plans are kind of ruined, so I’m looking for options for today. Does anyone going today have 1 or 2 Bring a Friend passes?

Thanks for attention.

News Carowinds insider

My child works Carowinds and the management here is heartless. They do not about their teenager workers, extremely disgusting to their international workers, and no benefits. I’ve heard about multiple workers beg to be moved out of departments due to safety issues (passing out due to heat, breaking out in hives), and the management ignores them. They only care about money, no one gets decent benefits but full time… and you only are full time if you’ve been there for 16+ years. Management tries to hold minors past their scheduled break times, mothers call asking why their child is still at the park. F&B department specifically is a hell hole. On top of that, they don’t care about the guest. Admissions refuse to help guest with refund processes, and HR doesn’t have the access to do so.. I’m sad to see what this place has came too.

Questions/Advice Toddler food

I know it says no outside food with the exception of infant formula/baby food on their website. If I'm going with my baby and toddler, can I have some toddler snacks in my diaper bag or will those not be allowed in?

Questions/Advice Trying to buy 2 bring a friend tickets (one ticket on different dates) in one order

So I've been trying to buy two bring a friend tickets for two different dates (one each date) in a single order but every time I try to put my season pass number in for the second date it says duplicate (I assume because they are limited you to buying passes for only one date at a time?). Does anyone know a work around? It's not a huge deal just that it's $10USD processing fee per checkout and so that is a huge chunk of the cost of the ticket...(if I have to pay it twice especially).

Questions/Advice Help me plan our visit

Post image
1 Upvotes

A friend and I will be in town the 15th and 16th. We both have Prestige Passes. This will be our first visit to Carowinds. We intend to be there both days from open to close which appears to be 6:00 p.m. To midnight.

School me on everything I need to know to make this visit be the most worthwhile. Seriously, no matter how minor, what should we know from the moment we pull up to the parking lot to the moment we exit the park, how can we maximize our visit?

We've talked about getting a daily fastpass if necessary although I just tried to do this a couple weeks back at California Great America and wound up spending a considerable amount of time trying to pick up a wristband because I couldn't do it digitally for whatever reason.

Questions/Advice Friday Early Entry?

Hey, hey! I'm in NC for work this week and have a Prestige Pass through SFOG. I'm supposed to fly out at 4:30pm on Friday, but considering moving to a later flight to get a couple of hours in at Carowinds. On the Friday nights for Scarowinds, do they do the 30 min early entry for prestige? If so, any idea what rides are open? Thanks!
