Prince Rupert Mail Theft

Anyone in Prince Rupert had their mail stolen - mail that they were expecting to receive - or mail that they sent out that never arrived at the intended destination/address?

This past summer I sent several envelopes/mail to different Prince Rupert destinations/addresses - some sent via registered mail and some sent via regular mail - all included Visa prepaid gift cards - while none of the intended recipients received the mail (including the registered/tracked mail) all gift cards were used at the Prince Rupert 7-Eleven (Visa provided location, dates, times of use) - obviously the mail arrived to Prince Rupert and was intercepted.

Is something going on at Prince Rupert Canada Post and Prince Rupert 7-Eleven?

Early morning Delivery Attempt!? - I think not

Another example of the abysmal service and culture of laziness at Canada Post.

Package I am waiting for (and able to receive at home today) marked "Card Left" at 06:19 hours.

Of course there is no card and the Postie won't be on my street for hours. Chat Agent claims they cannot provide contact information for any local management so that I can address this issue.

Does anyone have any tips on how to get Canada Post to actually do their job and deliver a package? From my perspective a billion dollars a year for an organization that only brings advertising to my house seems unnecessary and wasteful...

Package to Ukraine, how would the recipients get the package?

I sent a package to Ukraine a month ago via Canada post. It’s just small package, pictures and keychains. The tracking option was too expensive so I didn’t go for it. I was just wondering how would the recipients receive the package? Will the local carrier text them or leave it at the front door? Do we know which local carrier? I saw online they say Ukrpostha?

Thanks in advance.

Dimensional Weight Calculator

When I ran my first business, shipping was my largest cost and the part I understood least. I thought I could outsource figuring it out.
After I sold the company, I started helping a few friends. They gave me the job I never wanted: figure out shipping for them.
But this time, I did it.
I now run Part n Parcel and review shipping invoices with ecommerce businesses every day. One thing I wish I’d understood sooner is dimensional weight.
Here’s an example: a box measuring 40 × 30 × 25 cm has a dimensional weight of 6 kg, using a divisor of 5,000.
Even if the package only weighs 2 kg, a service using that calculation bills it at 6 kg.
The divisor and rounding rules vary, so check your carrier’s terms. But the size of your box can matter just as much as what’s inside it.
Understanding this sooner could have saved me thousands of dollars a week.
I built a dimensional-weight calculator so you can try your own box sizes and see the difference.

Forgot to include my unit number on an international shipment to Canada. What should I do?

Hey everyone,
I ordered a package from China that’s being shipped to Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. I accidentally forgot to include my unit number in the shipping address, but the rest of the address, including the street address and postal code, is correct.
I contacted the sender, but they told me they can’t make any changes from their end. They also mentioned that the package will take around 3 weeks to arrive.
I’m worried that the package might get lost or returned because the unit number is missing.
Has anyone experienced something similar? What should I do in this situation? Can I update the address once the package arrives in Canada, or will the courier contact me?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi everyone, I need some help with my Xpresspost shipment. 🙏

My passport was sent from Ottawa to Edmonton via Canada Post Xpresspost and the last update was “Item processed” in Ottawa on October 13. There have been no updates since.
Has anyone experienced a similar situation or can any Canada Post employees check what might be happening? Since it’s my passport, I’m getting worried.
Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! 🙏

Trying really hard not to give up on Canada Post.

I mailed a package across the country 2 weeks ago (Ontario to BC) and it showed back up in my mailbox today, despite clear, printed labels in the "to" and "from" sections on the flat rate box. Somehow it went to BC, didn't even get sent for delivery, and then made its way back to me. Customer service is trying to say "oh don't worry it's been delivered" and I'm like ... Yeah I know I'm holding it right now and it's not meant to be here.

The plot thickens when I look at the receipt and it turns out the post office employee put MY postal code as the destination postal code. Ffs. So now I'm on hold with customer service (after fighting with their robot to get through to a real person) and they seem totally unbothered - haven't even apologized for wasting so much of my time. Ridiculous.

Help finding where things went wrong

Just trying to see if anyone can help me identify where an overseas product delivery went wrong.

1- Order a product from a supplier in China.
2- Paid 50CAD for expedited shipping. Seems I may not know what expedited actually means.
3- Shipper confirms product will leave their facility within 2 business days. It in fact, left their facility in 11 hours.
4- 22 hours later tracking shows Canada post picked up from local airport customs and the package is heading to their sorting approx 40 mins drive from ship to address.
5- CP tracking shows expected delivery is Oct 15.
6- CP tracking shows “in transit” and expected delivery is still Oct 15.
7- Parcel delivery in my area stops at 8pm and at 9pm CP tracking hasn’t changed.
8- Oct 16 tracking shows expected delivery was “yesterday”
9- Morning of Oct 17, tracking now shows expected delivery as Oct 20.

So, just trying to figure out if it was the overseas supplier that company records show is very, very profitable and beat their estimated ship time by 37hours or the local parcel delivery service that loses billions a year and have missed expected delivery by 120 hours and counting that dropped the ball?

Can’t wait until the next typical CP step…come by without actually having the parcel to slip a pick up notice in my door, so I can finish their job.

Xpresspost package (passport) stuck after “Item accepted”

I had a passport shipped via Xpresspost from the IRCC office in Ottawa to me in Toronto.

Yesterday (October 15) the tracking suddenly updated after being quiet for weeks:

Sept 30 – Item accepted at the Post Office (Toronto, ON)
Sep 20 – Electronic information submitted by shipper

I have no idea why the status (the Sep 30 one) only appeared now, two weeks later. Based on the tracking, the package has been “in transit” for 16 days with no further scans.

At the same time, IRCC hasn’t confirmed that they have sent the passport! But according to tracking number, they did. But why Ottawa is not mentioned and suddenly it appeared in Toronto?

I already called Canada Post and they opened a service ticket. From what I’ve seen on Reddit, those tickets are usually useless.

Any advice on what to do next would be really appreciated.

My experience with canada post

Canada post has been, so far, the worst shipping provider ive ever used. This is the 5th time they put my package in the wrong mailbox slot, or didn't put a parcel key in my mail. I'm so tired of having to wait extra days to recieve important packages, or having to create tickets for them to just not deal with it at all.

It's been happening so much, that I expect to not recieve a package when I ship with Canada Post, it's been a routine now.

And the workers at the post office aren't helpful either. They tell me the same response EVERY TIME. First, they give me a card, then tell me "Just call this number on the card" which leads me to an automated voice, where are the actual support agents? Nowhere? And it tells me the exact same thing, "Your package was delivered." like, no it's not????

Overall, canada post is the worst shipping provider I've used.

Woosh shipping labels skull 💀 rejected by Canada Post — and their customer service is something else 😂

I run a small business in Ontario and recently purchased Canada Post Xpresspost labels through Woosh.

Took my parcels to Canada Post, where the employee scanned each label separately. Both were rejected because the system indicated the postage hadn't been paid.

Except... I'd already paid Woosh for the labels.

So naturally, I contacted Woosh to find out what happened and whether this was something I needed to worry about with future shipments.

Their solution? Try having Canada Post scan them manually. If that doesn't work, void the labels and purchase new ones.

I explained that I'm running a business and need to know whether I can rely on their service. I've also seen other Reddit users reporting similar problems.

I asked whether they had any explanation and if it could happen again.

Their response?

"Yes."

That's it. 😂

Not an explanation, not an investigation, not even a "we're looking into it."

I've now requested a refund of my remaining $50 balance because I can't have customer orders sitting around while I play shipping-label roulette.

Has anyone else experienced this with Woosh recently? And has anyone successfully received a refund of their unused balance?

Canada Post doesn’t even attempt to deliver, they just leave notice cards

I ordered something from Japan and already paid for shipping to my address. However, when Canada Post was supposed to deliver my package, they didn’t knock on my door or ring the doorbell. They simply left a delivery notice card telling me to pick it up at the post office.
I was home waiting for the package, so I’m honestly starting to think they don’t even attempt to deliver some packages anymore. They just bring the notice card and leave without knocking.
I never requested a pickup, and I paid for shipping to my home. Now I have to spend extra time and money (40% additional of the already paid shipping) travelling to the post office to collect something that was supposed to be delivered to my address.

Outgoing

Hello!

I live in a rural area and still have home delivery.
I send a few letters and postcards a week.
Am I able to leave them in my mailbox with the flag up and the mail carrier will take them? Has anyone ever run into trouble with this?
Thank you!

Canada Post has been ABSOLUTELY knocking it out of the park with its Stamps this year

First the Sugar Shack stamps, then the graphic novels/novel designs, and now the Jack-O-Lantern series. All of the forever stamp designs this year have been absolutely stunning. It’s come to the point where my friend who doesn’t even use stamps has bought a few. To whoever is in charge of stamp design, THANK YOU.

Xpresspost tracking update issues

Anybody else experiencing Xpresspost delays or lack of delays. My package was processed at 4:38 am and then note in transit from toronto 7:38 am on october 7th. There have been no updates since. Normally any package I get shipped from toronto takes 3 days.

This has been my average timeline for my past 10 xpresspost items coming from anywhere in southern ontario.

Toronto : Day 1 - shipped

Thunderbay: Day 2 - Scanned and in transit again that day

My location NW ontario - Day 3 - arrives between 2am and 6 am and is out for delivery by 9 am sometimes arrives earlier.

So a little bit weary - local post office said I could wait or contact customer service.

Anyone else having a similar experience this week. I know there were a lot of tracking issues posted here.

Package got sent back without warning?

I ordered something internationally, when I tried to enter the tracking number into the Canada Post website it just sent me error messages. I even downloaded the app to try to get an update but I got nothing for it.

Today after looking up online I tried a Universal tracker and it told me my package arrived two days ago and was sent back today.

When I tried to contact support about this they told me there was nothing they could do.

So I can't check up on my package because their services are down, they don't warn me or anything and they send it back in two days and I can't do anything about it?

For the record the problem with the package was that the appartment number wasn't entered correctly and it was probably my fault, I share the blame on that but its fucked up I wasn't given a warning to correct it nor was I given the chance considereing the service is down and they sent it back in less than two days when I thought I had 15 days worst case scenario.

Anyone have experience with EzClear?

I’m expecting a package from Japan and I received 2 emails from EzClear about brokerage fees. The information looks legit, the sender name, my email address, what the item is and what its value is. But I’ve never dealt with them, it’s either pay fees upfront with Canada post or fedex or whatever. Or pay at the door. Never had this experience and I looked up what others said and many people say it’s a scam, reviews for them are horrible, etc. so I’m not sure what to do before paying. Tried to track on Canada post but says a shipping label was created so I don’t know if it’s even coming through Canada post. Says it’s from CITILOGISTICS. Anyone with experience on this?

What is this service and how do I track it?

I'm currently dealing with an ebay issue and part of that is tracking. I have this tracking "number" from an ebay purchase but it's not actually a number. It just says "CANADAPOSTPOCAL." When I click it to take me to the Canada Post tracking page, but since there's no number, there's nothing associated with it.

Has anyone here tried shipping with UniUni? How’s your experience so far?

I hope this is okay to post here since I couldn't find another shipping subreddit specifically for Canada.

I've been using Canada Post for shipping, but their rates are getting a bit expensive for me, so I'm looking into other options.

I've noticed that UniUni is now offering shipping services in Canada. I know a lot of us have received parcels delivered by UniUni, but I've never actually tried using them to ship something myself.

For those who have used UniUni to ship parcels, how has your experience been so far? I'm curious about their rates, delivery times, reliability, and overall service compared to Canada Post.

I'd appreciate any feedback or advice from those who have tried them. Thanks!

False signature for registered mail

My insurance provider claims they sent a registered mail informing me that I owed them some money due to some change. I never received it.

I only came to know about it after I received the second registered mail telling me my insurance was cancelled due to not paying the additional charge.

After lots of back and forth, I was able to get the signature on record with CP for the first registered mail . It's not my signature. Nor anyone else in my household.

CP won't let me raise a case to investigate. Only the sender can initiate an inquiry. And the sender (insurance company) couldn't care less. They met their official obligations of sending the letter.

Is there someone else I can escalate this with? Or is the insurance company (sender) my only way?

What can I realistically achieve by asking for an investigation? Does CP take this seriously and will take actions? Would this help me not face this in the future?

Post Worker leaving pre-filled notice cards in community box

Living in a more “remote” area where one post office covers half of a rural township in central ON, and our subdivisions scattered have community boxes. I’m not talking about farm houses with quarter mile lane ways here, these are subdivisions. We are victims of one of their particular post workers doing the thing where they pre-fill the notice cards and then drops them in the community box. Not even the other type that brings the card and sticks it on the door and then runs as fast as they can even if you are home watching them from the window.

Occasionally there are fill ins for the route and they always bring those packages to the door, and even have a debit machine for the stuff that have customs fees etc. So it’s come down to the one specific and main postal worker.

The worst thing is they clearly have the packages in the delivery vehicle with them and drive them around all day just to bring them back. The cards are filled out before they even leave the parking lot of the post office.

How can they know we aren’t home dropping the notice cards in a community box?

I and I’m sure many others in this area sick of having to drive 25 minutes out of our way to the post office just to sign for a package.

Is there anything we can do to get this worker penalized as a community, because the other post office workers can’t do anything but give a number to complain to some supervisor who won’t do anything so it’s got to a mass/class action complaint from the community.

Parcels rejected at post office?

Tried to ship 6 different parcels at post office and the shoppers drug mart rep said that they couldn't accept it and to return it to sender.

I have a commercial account and have $0 past due, is anyone else having this issue today?

Update: looks like for the day of October 14, 2026 Canada Post had technical difficulties with some stores e.g. the pharmacy store locations, and packages couldn't be sent. It could be specifically with commercial accounts so it could affect other options like woosh.
