"Pressing Sprint or Melee does not pull a player out of ADS if they have Toggle ADS enabled." It was added to Known Issues on 21 Aug during the Beta and is now in Resolved with the "Fix Released" label. Neither part is fixed for me in the launch build, so I think the card should be reopened.
My settings:
Aim Down Sight Behavior: Toggle (Keyboard & Mouse > Combat)
Sprint/Tactical Sprint/Focus: Left Shift (default bind)
Focus Behavior: Hold (default, under Combat Advanced Settings)
Steps to reproduce:
Set Aim Down Sight Behavior to Toggle.
Load into any mode with a non-sniper weapon (Firing Range is the quickest).
Click right mouse button once to aim down sights.
Hold W and tap Shift once, like you normally would to sprint.
What happens:
You stay aimed in and keep walking at ADS speed. Shift triggers Focus instead of sprint, Focus stays on while you hold it, and when you let go you're still in ADS. Melee doesn't take you out of ADS either.
What should happen:
One Shift press should drop ADS and start sprinting right away, like it did in MWIII. Melee should also pull you out of ADS, which is what the Trello card describes. Focus shouldn't get in the way of this on non-sniper weapons.
Workarounds (neither is great):
Click right mouse button to leave ADS, then press Shift. That's two inputs for something that used to take one.
Double-tap Shift. This does cancel ADS, but it's not how sprint normally works and it fights muscle memory from previous CoDs.
Other notes:
Happens with every non-sniper weapon, so it's not weapon-specific.
This worked fine in MWIII, so it looks like a regression.
It hurts most mid-fight: when you need to break off and run for cover, you're stuck aimed in for an extra input.
Possible fix:
Bringing back the MWIII behavior would solve it. If Focus on Shift is meant for snipers, an option like "Focus Activation: Sniper Rifles Only" would work too.
