Who would be in favor of the developers creating a *Call of Duty: Modern Warfare* prequel—a story about how Captain Price became a legend?
*Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4* is the final installment in the series, so bringing Price back would be nonsensical.
- Young Price in the SAS
He isn’t a captain yet—just an ordinary soldier. You carry out your first dangerous missions, make mistakes, take initiative, and occasionally even pose a security risk to your own commanders.
- Early losses and the making of a leader
Price loses comrades, grapples with orders he deems wrong, and learns to discern where military duty ends and personal responsibility begins.
- How he became *the* Captain Price
We explore why he is so devoted to his men, why he’s sometimes willing to break the rules to complete a mission, and where the principles he lived by—and later passed on to Ghost—originated.
Most importantly, at the start of the game, Price shouldn’t be an invincible hero who can do it all. He’s an ordinary soldier—he feels fear, makes mistakes, gets involved in his comrades' personal affairs, and often doesn’t know the right course of action. This is how we could witness the gradual evolution of the Captain Price we know today.
Now, imagine the finale!
After successfully completing a series of operations, Price is finally promoted to captain.
The final scene: his commander asks him,
"What will you do now, Captain?"
Price remains silent for a few seconds, then stands up, puts on his iconic hat, and replies:
"Assemble a team. I need the best—people I can trust with my life."
He pauses, then adds:
"I’ll call it Task Force 141."
Price stands with his back to the camera. The following text slowly appears on the screen:
TASK FORCE 141
The familiar *Modern Warfare* musical theme begins to play… The screen fades to black.
And so ends the story of how an ordinary soldier became a legend and formed one of the most famous task forces in *Call of Duty* history.
I imagine many fans would love to see how Captain Price’s speech begins!
