How to freeze your mod versions : We get comments every update complaining about update speed making long-terms games difficult. while we understand the concerns, the current schedule allows us to handle bugs or game balance issues in prompt manner and gives new features a chance to be highlighted without dumping a whole bunch of stuff at once. Fortunately this is something that is relatively easy to deal with on the user end. You can either download your agot mod from nexus instead of steam and only upgrade manually or you can also use playset preserver (link) , which will preserve your entire modlist in a specific state. Please note however that we will not be able to help you with anything you add to your playset beyond the AGOT mod

Hi all! Visenya here. I'm normally in the portrait mines, but I've escaped temporarily to help out with the implementation of our new High Valyrian names, making a second pass over the master-list. I was present when Fox first started this naming project, and watched as it developed, pulling names from it for my own campaigns over the last 6+ months. I am already deeply attached to some of them, and they always find a place in my dynastic trees.
Fox mapped out every single root word that a parent could conceivably use to name their child (using various sources including DJP's High Valyrian conlang, developed for A Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon) and as a long-standing ASOIAF reader, I have often imagined what life in the Valyrian Freehold would have been like.
Who were these people? What were their names? What did they do?
High Valyrians without dragons could have been bureaucrats, merchants, sellswords and more, and a name can tell you a lot about a person. It can reveal to us a little bit of their history, and allow us some insight into their parents – were they named after a relative, a place, a flower, the night sky...or an attribute their parents hoped would manifest in their life and act as a guiding star?
So...when I looked over our Master List, I carried that curiosity with me. I chose any name that I could imagine belonging to a person in Old Valyria, waking every day to behold the Fourteen Flames.
I created a new weighting group for the second pass, and we will be utilising era-based cultural name lists going forward depending on the time-period/bookmark you find yourself playing in. For example, if you play after 10 AC, the Targaryen influence over High Valyrian culture will be increased, and 25% of names will be canon Targaryen or Targaryen-inspired. If you play after 131 AC, the Targaryen dominance over High Valyrian culture will become even more prominent, with 50% of the names being canon Targaryen or Targaryen-inspired.
The Targaryen house names have also been adjusted; previously it was a 55% chance of canon name, 30% chance of a selection of Targ-inspired names, 15% chance of pulling from the whole High Valyrian name list. The updated odds are 60% chance of canon name, 37% chance of a selection of Targ-inspired names from the updated High Valyrian name list, 3% chance of pulling from the whole High Valyrian name list. We also gated several names to only appear after certain events, or stop appearing after certain events. For instance, Alyssa and Alysanne will not appear once we have bookmarks before those characters join the Targaryen family and Aegor and Daemon will only be used by members of house Bittersteel or Blackfyre in bookmarks starting after the Blackfyre Rebellion.
Future work will include using some of the more obscure names from the master list as a basis for more High Valyrian Dynastic names, expanding variety.
I hope that you will all enjoy this second stage of implementation, and look forward to seeing some High Valyrian dynasties springing forth with a more direct connection, at long last, to Old Valyria.
We'll leave you with a sneak peak from the Portrait Mines...

So I won the rebellion as Bobby and during Tower of Joy everyone died except for Gerold Hightower, which is not totally unreasonable outcome. BUT THEN THE WHITE BULL JUST MARRIED LYANNA AND ELOPED WITH HER AND JON. She was still betrothed to me for fucks sake. To make matters worse, I forgot to execute Aerys and accidentally mass ransomed him so now he chills in Essos. Fuck my stupid chud life...

Started as Tywin during Robert's Rebellion. Stayed neutral like in the lore, but this time, for some reason, the rebels threw; Robert was killed by Rhaegar in a duel, and Stannis lost the war.
Married off Cersei to Chadmure Tully (in this timeline, Joffrey is a Tully, and he's compassionate lol)
To stay in character, I banged a chick as Tywin in an attempt to gain a male bastard heir that I could legitimize and make heir to Casterly Rock instead of Tyrion, but I only had one kid, a girl, before I died.
So Tyrion became Lord Paramount, and I fabricated a hook on Mace Tyrell and married Margaery, which was very weird, because Marge was SIGNIFICANTLY younger than Tyrion, but oh well.
Tyrion got VERY busy, and we had 5 kids, none of which actually got the dwarf trait, which I am happy about. Sadly, Marge was murdered by some random Lannister relative (Myrielle Lannister) no idea why. I got angry and murdered Myrielle, as well as her only child and her husband, so her line was completly extinguished. (almost lost my cool there)
Meanwhile, I conquered Pyke and installed some random Lannister relative, Lancel (not THAT Lancel, but a different one), and married him to a Harlaw woman to give him some legitimacy. I intend to conquer the Iron Islands and give them to his cadet branch, House Lannister of Pyke.
Meanwhile, one of my relatives married a Martell woman, whom I installed as the Princess of Dorne. She has a daughter, born into the Lannister family, who is about to inherit. I married her to my son, so a Lannister is about to rule Dorne as soon as Princess Nerissa Nymeros Martell dies.
My son and heir, Lyonel Lannister, has claims to the Reach through his mother, Marge, so I am definitely gonna press his claim too. My other children have claims too, so I might install one of them there. In fact, my second son is actually married to some Zoe Tyrell, so I am probably gonna make him the Lord Paramount of the Reach, which would most likely make most sense in lore.
And Lyonel is bethroed to a Stark, so I am gonna try to get the North too lol.
I then married a Banefort and had twins; unfortunately, they both inherited the dwarf trait, but I think Tyrion wouldn't mind.
Oh yeah, after my 2nd wife gave birth, I sacrificed her to hatch a dragon egg I got by sending my uncle to fetch it from Valyria, and hatched a destined dragon; that's gonna come in handy too I guess.
ALSO, I rebuilt Castamere after Tywin kicked the bucket,; and it's crazy OP, it makes more gold than Casterly Rock, almost 100.

Hey y'all, my mods recently broke, and instead of digging through to figure out what's causing it, I was wondering if anyone is currently playing with a mod list similar to mine that works.
The main mods I want to keep are Legacy of Valyria and the Essos expanded mods, but if that doesn't work, I'm open to any mods that expand the world of Westeros.
If anyone knows a fix for my issue, the game runs and opens normally; the only difference I've noticed is that the armies are completely invisible, and nothing on the map indicates they're there. If I press Q to manage my armies, I can technically still control them, but I literally see nothing except the small UI that pops up when I select them in the Manage tab. Enemy armies can still attack mine, but again, nothing on the map shows them; I can only tell by checking my war score tab, the Manage Armies tab, and selecting that specific army.
If it helps, I'll attach screenshots of my current mod list; I'm sure it's messed up somehow lol. All suggestions/advice are welcome. Many thanks.

Current mods I'm running in my playset, have another playset with MDE, Dragon pit levels + compatch, Battlefield duels, and squire events. There was some stuttering and small crashes yesterday as well but i disabled the squire events and it seemed to work fine afterwards. Have any submods updated?

I have been seeing a lot of stuff about House Reyne/Castamere recently, and was just wondering if I will need to download a submod in order to get the decision to restore the house. If anyone has experience or can offer an explanation I would greatly appreciate it!

This dragon was ridden by Aerion Brightflame, Rhaella Targeryan, Robert Baratheon and Jon Snow. Crazy she's gone now. Rip Majesty

I was wondering if anyone has been playing Essos Expanded or Legacy of Valeria, since I'm unsure if these mods are broken or something else is in my order. If these work for anyone do you mind sharing what you have them in? Thanks!

Yeah, Robert died before he could have kids, so Stannis became King.
Viserys sacrificed Daenerys yet failed to bring back dragons, he beat Stannis but about a year in died from wounds without child.
So during that war Stannis had with Viserys, the north rose to put Jon on the throne. They lost so Jon was imprisoned, I as Paxter, paid his Ransom and invited him to court, (because hes married to one of my daughters) thus rescuing him.
That war is what caused Stannis to loose
So joffrey became King (passed off as a baratheon) he was so hated during his coronation, eventually we rose up.
Jon now rules as the only Targaryen blood left, as a Cadet house, Snowdrake

Does AGOT change how this decision functions? All activating it does is give you a lousy +0.10 piety per month modifier.
I have a few submods, so it is possible that the decision is broken because of them, but I would like to be sure before trying to identify the culprit.

This is from a very old LoV playthrough where Aegon never landed in Westeros. I knew the dance (as in, a succession war around this time regardless of whose is it) was a scripted event, but I never thought it would go as far as to happen with an entirely different house and title.

I was wondering if dragons have a set fertility rate or is it just random? In my Velaryon playthrough I have quite a lot of female dragons, most of them even have a mate but they are just not really laying eggs. I just got really curious about the rate at which dragons lay eggs, as it feels like sometimes they lay clutches a lot and sometimes they just go decades without a clutch 😐

Started with a traveller in Kings Landing and worked my way up to see the entirety of the world. I had no idea you'd get so rich and powerful from travelling - but I also gotta say, it gets monotonous and bland at a point.
Next step is to get landed somehow, but I don't think I can just settle somewhere, at least the option seems to either always grey out for me, or bug me out if I try to rebuild ruins.
