Volunteers Wanted
The UC San Diego CARE Program is seeking volunteers for a paid study on mental health and brain research!
I moved around a lot as a kid — new schools, new towns, never really put down roots anywhere. Isolation was just normal for me before I even had a word for it. Then I joined the Navy, and for the first time I had something like family — people working toward the same goal, watching your back, bonded by the same long days and the same bad days.
Then I got out. And that family, that structure, just disappeared overnight. I went into a bad depression. Social anxiety got worse than it had ever been. What pulled me through wasn't one thing — it was leaning on the same stuff that got me through being that isolated kid in the first place: building things, losing myself in tech, and slowly making real friends along the way who stuck.
Some things are easier to carry when you're not carrying them alone.
That's why my friend Chris and I built The Harbor — a free monthly live circle on Mimea. Chris is a US Navy veteran too, and the founder of Shanti's Lounge. We talk about this stuff constantly — off camera, just checking in on each other, the way you do with someone who's actually been through it with you. At some point we asked ourselves: why keep this just between us? Why not open the door?
Chris, in his own words:
"The Harbor comes from the Navy. When your ship is in the harbor, it's the safest place it can be — and the harbor has a lighthouse that guides you home, especially through a storm. For me, that storm has been my own mind.
When you're in the military, you build this bond with people from every background — you've all got the same chiefs, the same bad days, the same storm. Then you get out, and that's just... gone.
I've lost friends to suicide, and I've been closer to that edge myself than I like to admit. I was lucky enough to make it through, and I couldn't waste that."
A lighthouse isn't much — it's just a light in the dark that tells you you're not alone. That's all I'm trying to build here, at a small scale. I'm not fixing anybody, not forcing anything. Just a space that says: you're not by yourself out here. There are other lights out here too."
What The Harbor actually is:
- A monthly live conversation about stress, PTSD, grief, and just plain hard weeks — not a class, not a pitch, just people showing up honestly.
- Private and free to join (members-only) — what's said in The Harbor stays in The Harbor.
- No pressure to talk. Come just to listen, or just to be heard. Both count.
First session — "Dropping Anchor: What Brings You to Harbor"
📅 Wednesday, Oct 28 · 8 PM ET
Free to join. Sign in on Mimea and RSVP → https://mimea.co/live
You don't need the right words. You just have to show up.

Welcome to r/cbdinfo — 26,000+ members strong.
This community exists because cannabis education is still fragmented, inconsistent, and full of misinformation. Whether you stumbled in because you're confused about a product label, trying to figure out if CBD interacts with your medication, looking to grow your own, or building a business in this space, you're in the right place.
This post lives at the top permanently. Bookmark it, share it, send it to anyone who asks.
The most common post in this community over 7 years+: "I'm new to CBD and completely overwhelmed."
You're not alone. Here's what actually matters.
Dosing
There is no universal dose. Body weight, metabolism, tolerance, delivery method, and the specific cannabinoid all affect how much you need. Tinctures absorb faster than gummies. Topicals don't enter your bloodstream. A 25mg gummy and a 25mg tincture do not behave the same way.
Start low (5–10mg), wait two hours before redosing. If it's not working, switch the delivery method before chasing a higher dose.
→ Phytopedia Dosage Calculator — personalized starting point based on your weight, delivery method, and experience level.
Drug Interactions — this one matters
CBD inhibits CYP450 liver enzymes — the same system that metabolizes many common medications, including blood thinners, antiepileptics, antidepressants, and statins. If you're on any prescription medication, check before you start.
→ Phytopedia Drug Interaction Checker — search your medication and see what the research says.
Product Quality & COA Verification
Independent lab testing has shown that a meaningful percentage of CBD products on the market don't contain what the label says. COA fraud is real. A Certificate of Analysis from a third-party ISO/IEC 17025 accredited lab is the only way to verify what's actually in a product.
What to look for on a COA:
If a brand won't show you a COA, don't buy from them.
→ Phytopedia COA Reader — click an example to see a full COA breakdown with educational annotations.
Strain Selection
Not all CBD strains are the same. Terpene profiles, CBD:THC ratios, and cannabinoid combinations produce meaningfully different experiences. A high-myrcene strain feels different from a high-limonene strain at the same CBD percentage.
→ Phytopedia Strain Database — filter by terpene, cannabinoid ratio, effects, difficulty, and growing conditions.
The cannabis industry is growing, and it needs educated people at every level — retail, cultivation, compliance, lab testing, marketing, extraction, and operations. Most people who want in don't know where to start.
What employers actually look for:
A cannabis job is not just knowing the plant. It's knowing the regulations, the supply chain, and how to serve people responsibly.
Where to start:
→ Ground Level — Phytopedia — $10/month. Plant science, cannabinoids, terpenes, dosing, and wellness fundamentals. The core curriculum is completed in 4 months, earning a Cannabis Literacy Certificate. Continuing Education is released monthly after that.
→ Cannabis Jobs Board — Mimea — industry roles across cultivation, retail, compliance, and operations.
Whether you're growing for personal use, for a dispensary, or to eventually supply a licensed facility, understanding the plant deeply makes you better at all of it.
The most underserved topic in this community: terpenes. 282 posts in 7 years versus thousands on cannabinoids. Terpenes are where the nuance lives. Myrcene, limonene, linalool, caryophyllene — these compounds shape the experience as much as the cannabinoid profile does. Growers who understand terpenes grow more intentionally.
What you need to know as a grower:
→ Roots & Canopy — Phytopedia — $30/month. Cultivation from seed to harvest. The core curriculum is completed in 4 months, earning a Cultivation Foundation Certificate. Includes a live grow journal so you can track your actual grow as you learn. Continuing Education is released monthly after that.
→ Phytopedia Strain Database — Grow Traits filter — filter by difficulty, flowering time, growing medium, autoflower, and light schedule.
The compliance gap is real. Small cannabis businesses don't fail because of bad product; they fail because of bad paperwork, missed reporting, and licensing errors they didn't know they were making.
What most small operators get wrong:
→ The Standard — Phytopedia — $100/month. Full industry track: CRMP (Cannabis Regulatory Management Platform) compliance workflow, license applications, SOPs, financial projections, inventory management, and regulatory reporting. Every student trains hands-on inside CRMP — the government-standard compliance platform built for Grenada's regulated cannabis industry. When commercial licensing opens, our graduates already know the system.
→ Compliance Tools — Phytopedia — compliance documentation templates and regulatory frameworks.
Every page on Phytopedia has Ask Nug, an AI trained specifically on cannabis science, compliance, and wellness. It's fully integrated into the course platform, so enrolled students get contextual help alongside their lessons and reminders about upcoming work. It won't give you medical advice (no one should), but it will explain the science, pull strain data, walk you through interactions, and help you understand your COA.
A few things people use it for:
Free. No account required.
This subreddit is where the questions live. Mimea is where the ongoing conversations and learning circles live. If you enroll in a Phytopedia course, you get a Garden on Mimea — a private group with your cohort, weekly discussions, and direct access to instructors.
Root Seshion — every second Thursday of the month at 7 PM AST. A live community session: education, conversation, and community. Free for all Mimea members. Also streaming on Mimea’s YouTube Live, Facebook, and Instagram.
7 PM AST runs concurrently with 7 PM EDT (March–November). When the US clocks fall back in November, the session moves to 6 PM EST. Grenada does not observe daylight saving time — the AST time never changes.
Next session: Thursday, July 9, 2026, at 7 PM AST.

If ANYONE who lives inside or outside of Utah even knows if I can order that kinda of stuff online I'd love to know. There's a new Law regarding that stuff rolling around pretty soon next month but I have this slight fear that I'll order those types of things online but it'll not be able to go through or get sent back cuz of Utah being Utah. I tried doing a Google search but either I wasn't really fully processing what they were trying to say or I wasn't so sure on what it was telling me was true. (Also I don't trust the AI overview with my life)
It's ok if no one knows either. Just hoping I could find a clear answer, really.
Living around here is kinda hard when it's mostly populated by Mormons haha.

Hi! I’m looking for a CBD gummy for my grandma who has lewy body dementia. It’s tied in with Parkinson’s so she has a lot of body pains so preferably one that helps with that.
But we’re mainly concerned with the taste. She’s super picky in that department. She loves sour candy though so hoping for one like that.
Thank you!

I started taking this one, just one drop, I feel dizzy and very tired and slightly more calm, am I too sensitive to it or the product is low quality?

Honestly, taste was my biggest hurdle when trying to incorporate CBD into my morning routine. I tried various well known brands over the years including joy organics, which is super popular for being organic and reliable, but their flavor notes just always tasted a bit too much like raw hemp plants for my liking.
I wanted something that tasted like an actual gourmet fruit chew so I'd actually look forward to taking it. After doing a deep dive into clean brands, I ordered some gummies from TribeTokes. What stood out to me right away is that they are a women owned brand that focuses heavily on in house formulation and rigorous lab testing without cutting corners with chemical additives.
Their stress support gummies taste bright and tropical, and they smooth out afternoon anxiety wonderfully without any weird brain fog.
Are you looking for something strictly THC free for daytime use, or are you open to formulas that include minor cannabinoids?

There are so many brands out there. I narrowed down a well managed store, but no nothing about what to get my husband, who is suffering from sleep issue due to chronic stomach issues. I have read alot of posts, but unsure still, so hoping to get some good suggestions. I see that thc/cbd are a choice and didnt know what the best percentage ratio for sleeping. Thank you so much.

I hope this is the right sub for this:
the first time I tried CBD was a few months ago. it didn't take much and I got pretty high. a few days later I tried again and nothing happened.
fast forward to now: I got myself a vaporizer and product (24% CBD, 1%THC). I've tried twice and I don't feel any effect.

There are so many CBD gummy flavours available now. Do you prefer fruity, sour, citrus, berry, or something sweeter? I'm curious which flavours people enjoy most and what makes a flavour stand out to you.

I use Cbd for chronic pain. I just want to make sure I got all the right information: - alcohol is the solvent that extract cannabis the best. So a tincture might be the best way to use this wonderful plant.
an oil extract might be second in terms of best extracting the compounds. Plus, cannabis compounds bind to oil (although I think I don't need to eat oil/fat when I use an alcoholic based tincture?)
a tea is another option, although you need to add a kind of fat(coconut milk, dairy, plain oil...) to your infusion.
All these three methods have great effects on my pain. I guess the water extract (tea) might be the less potent...?
What are your experiences and thoughts? Any tip to perfecting any of the cited methods? (I mostly use DIY, with organic buds, so my preparations are all full spectrum)

Hi,
Does anyone know of a good supplier for CBD isolate in Canada that will not break the bank?
Is it possible to order from the US? Prices there are so much better...can I use a reshipper/US address?
Needing about 800-1000mg/day, so bulk is a necessity.
Any help would be much appreciated!!
Thanks and muchlove.

I have tried both their vapes, and gummies. They are just terrible. They are overpriced and have bad quality control. One batch of gummies was too strong, and the other was very weak. And by too strong, i mean they were supposed to have 1.5mg of THC, and 50mg of CBD per gummy, but I feel like there was a lot more THC than claimed because having just one got me noticably intoxicated. I started just taking half of the gummies to avoid that and it was fine. But when I ordered a second batch, they had no noticable THC or CBD effect, and tasted different.
I decided to try one of their vapes recently, recently as in I have had it for three days. The flavor was initially overpowering and uncomfortable, but it faded very quicky, currently after just two days of very light use, and one day of sitting in its box on my desk, the flavor is completely gone and now has a bitter taste. I also noticed small beads of liquid appearing in the tube, which I believe is the actual vape fluid leaking out seeing as it coincides with the loss of flavor and effect. On top of that, my favorite part, I ordered a pineapple flavor, but it tasted like coconut which I believe is their Maui Wowie flavor, and just like how the gummies were way too strong, this vape that should have been barely even microdosing THC, it being 1500mg of cbd to 10mg of thc, got me once again, noticably intoxicated, which is what I was trying to avoid by using CBD products that have very low THC. And to add, I am not someone whos super sensitive to THC, when I used THC I would take roughly 15-20mg. I also havent had the issue of getting an unwanted high from other companies ive tried.
To conclude, CBDfx sucks if youre not a teenager looking to get high. Im personally going to stick with hemp flower because thats worked well enough for me.
If you want a recommendation, id say probably Tweedle Farms, their edibles feel consistent, and they offer flower you can use in dry herb vaporizers instead of shitty disposable vapes.

Hey I bought my first CBD pre roll and actually I'm only smoking part of it for a first experience I feel like I didn't feel much except that my hands don't seem to shake too much anymore because of anxiety I don't really know if it's a placebo effect, but I would need some advice to make it more pleasant and if you know varieties that help with sleep or other
thank you very much for taking the time to read

Thought this maybe interesting to others. So I have had 2 cans of 10mg CBD in the day (goodrays, from the UK, FSA tested, and no THC).. I kinda bought it by chance from a supermarket and it's something I've never considered.
But the effects are really interesting on the fitness monitor and in myself..
Is 20mg a reasonable amount? Is higher/lower dose worth looking into? Is TOLERANCE a thing to watch out for if I do it every day? Timing in the day? Any other support/info, I've not thought about it until a random one last Friday!
I had a late shift Saturday night, and I had a couple of beers Friday night, and was off Friday/only worked a few hours on Thursday - so the big variable seems to be the CBD I think!

Happy birthday to me! 🎂 Ten years in cannabis education. Hundreds of thousands of people have learned what this plant is and how it may support their wellness.
Three years ago, I moved back home to Grenada to connect with the community and push for better cannabis laws. This year that work paid off. Grenada decriminalized up to 56 grams of flower and up to 15 grams of resin for adults 21+, and once registration opens next year, you can grow 4 plants at home.
Say hello to Nug, Owl, and Ras, the characters I've been developing for 10 years. You'll see a lot more of them this fall.
New to cannabis, or have questions? I go live every second Thursday starting next Thursday, October, at 7 PM AST on https://mimea.co/live, Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook. Come ask me anything.
P.S. The new Mimea Community app is live on Google Play at https://mimea.co/app. iOS is under review and will land this month. 📱

Hello,
I signed up for a monthly cannadips subscription. I've since wanted to cancel it. The manage subscription on the website does not work. No responses from their contact form or their help email address. FYI to everyone to avoid the subscriptions. Great product, though.

I’ve been buying a CBG, CBN, CBG tincture from Lazarus naturals who’s out of Oregon. Now I can’t get the tincture shipped to California.
What do I do - I need this?
