And the moral of the story is????

400

u/Electrical_Archer504 19h ago

If you want Asian girls gotta bleach that skin

133

u/Successful-Scale-607 19h ago

Of course, Mei-Ling don't want no darkies, but why would the rival blow up a period pad factory after she fails the exam? She had cramps, so how does a lack of pads help or hurt her situation?

93

u/Electrical_Archer504 19h ago

The pads should be able to stop period cramps, anything else is considered failure

19

u/Successful-Scale-607 19h ago

Is that how pads work? I thought they were used to prevent blood from soaking through your clothes, I didn't know they helped with cramps

u/Electrical_Archer504 19h ago

can't believe we have skin color-altering cream before cancer cure

edit: guys i meant something like a magical race changing cream that makes you pass off as an ethnically white person (like the picture above)

edit 2: or a fair-skinned asian as what the other user commented under this

252

u/HeftyArgument 18h ago

they've been a thing for a while, also injections, all manner of whacky cosmetic treatments, because there are places where the lighter your skin tone is the better you are perceived.

the fact that this person is fantasizing about a black guy who is whitening his skin is pretty ridiculous though lol, none of the people whitening their skin are trying to advertise it to the world.

21

u/adoreroda 12h ago

As you said, skin bleaching has been a thing for a while. But it generally resulted in bad results (such as unnatural looking skin, colour wise).

However, it seems like advancements have been made. This video is of a black woman talking about her bleaching treatment and for all intents and purposes it looks natural. She looks just like Trisha Paytas, lol.

12

u/Sad_Victory8516 11h ago

It doesn’t change the facial structure though, so it looks pretty unnatural but whatever floats her boat ig

11

u/adoreroda 11h ago

If she wanted to look Scandinavian, sure. But there are white women who have similar features like that, i.e. Trisha Paytas. But truthfully I just think she wanted to have pale skin first and foremost

If she wanted plastic surgery to look European facial feature wise, she probably would've had it already

1

u/Due-Base9449 5h ago

Being redbone (is this derogatory?) is enough.

59

u/Nejx33 18h ago

Isn't that also what tanning lotion is?

28

u/Probably_UrNeighbor Supreme Divine Incarnate of the 24k Golden Toilet Plunger 🚽🪠 18h ago

well i mean like magically whitening the skin to the point one looks like an actual white person, but I stand corrected 😅. Tanning lotions aren't really a thing in my country so it never crossed my mind

15

u/Gilthoniel_Elbereth 16h ago

an actual white person

Pretty sure the guy on the right is Asian

4

u/Probably_UrNeighbor Supreme Divine Incarnate of the 24k Golden Toilet Plunger 🚽🪠 13h ago

i guess i stand corrected for the second time... thanks a lot for the correction though

10

u/Sex_E_Searcher 17h ago

Have you met humans? That's the least surprising thing ever!

9

u/TwixOfficial 16h ago

Not hard to believe tbh. Cancer is complicated. Melanin is simple.

9

u/garaile64 16h ago

To be fair, the "default" is a society preferring light skin, as it shows that the person didn't need to work outdoors. The preference for tanning is Western and rather recent.

6

u/EveningSquare7175 11h ago

Society is very ashamed of their true self then , because for most of our history we did work outside, farmers ,tradesmen worked outside, warriors fought outside.

(I don't agree with the logic because many standards have changed but the standard for fair skin is still unusually strong, some other factors push it nowadays, but let's ignore this.)

2

u/rogueIndy 5h ago

The tanning is still a class signifier, it shows you have the time and money for sunny holidays.

3

u/ptapobane 15h ago

we got race swap cream and flying cars before we got gta6

3

u/psychxticrose 14h ago

Pretty sure people have been tanning or bleaching their skin for ages

178

u/RileyNonexistent 18h ago

So he blew the factory up to get an upper hand on her?

96

u/lambda-lambda-lambda 15h ago

But pads don't help with cramps

Is he stupid?

18

u/sexybunnylawyer 11h ago

Academic rivals for bottom of class.

53

u/RileyNonexistent 15h ago

No I think he blew the factory up because she is his rival and he wants her to have more period cramps so she fails more tests

46

u/escapadistfiction 13h ago

But pads... don't help.. with cramps.

Decreasing the number of available pads will have no effect on her cramping.

1

u/PeacefulAndTranquil 2h ago

you fail to consider periods are a conspiracy to sell more period pads

27

u/Empty_Chemical_1498 14h ago

Everyone knows period was invented by pad companies to sell more pads

19

u/NigelTainte 18h ago

Chivalry isn’t dead.

5

u/ghidfg 9h ago

No, while he may be her (racially altered) rival, he doesn't stand for injustice.

12

u/StressLife7080 12h ago

There was a "rumor" (idk if true or not, iirc it was true but I can't be bothered to look it up rn) that the brand Always would put some chemical in their period products to make women have longer, heavier and more painful (as a side effect) periods so they could sell more products.

10

u/Rafacat7 13h ago

I mean, it's an "aways period" pad factory, so apparently they are evil and making woman aways have periods to sell pads? Now, don't ask me how that works.

7

u/swagelinee 11h ago

always is a popular brand of pads

1

u/Vylmyl 1h ago

I think its a pun

3

u/ghidfg 9h ago

I think it's absurd humor. "I will avenge you by blowing up this pad factory for failing to protect you from period cramps!".
They may be rivals, but he has honor. ..and whitening creams

3

u/geirmundtheshifty 17h ago

Yeah, gotta have a really unhinged rival for a good enemies-to-lovers story, apparently

1

u/DanHam117 4h ago

No he’s a chaotic good rival who is book smart but a dumbass in every other way. He doesn’t understand anything about periods, but he knows that his rival only lost this round on a technicality so he will give her an advantage by any means necessary just to get a fair fight next time.

He’s wrong, but it’s noble endeavor (unless you are an innocent factory worker)

76

u/XavierTheMemeDragon 11h ago

This is a level of racism that I’ve been blessedly unaware of until this moment

158

u/NigelTainte 18h ago

I feel like they really wanted to use that image yet somehow also wanted them to be Black and they thought this was the way to compromise.

9

u/Temporary-Turnip-627 10h ago

This should be higher up

4

u/NigelTainte 8h ago

I’m just glad they didn’t use AI. 🤣

2

u/BandicootCool6277 4h ago

lmao???😭

u/FoShep 17h ago

He's ethnically black but was specifically that one black actor from the Chinese detergent commercial

30

u/NotADamsel 16h ago

You might want to go to settings and turn off the thing where YouTube shares your actual government name with anyone who clicks on your link when you share a YouTube video.

26

u/jakethabake 15h ago

What kind of feature is that lol, wtf google

4

u/NotADamsel 10h ago

Near as I can tell, YouTube is trying to emulate Instagram, who also does this. Because someone at Google decided that just copying features without thinking for two goddamn nanoseconds about the differences between the other platform and it, was the right way to operate.

What in the devil's wasp nest have I just watched?!

Is that what he calls his butthole?

43

u/Expensive_Finger_973 12h ago

Who the fuck has an "academic rival"? These people clearly don't have the same school experience I did.

32

u/profuselystrangeII 7h ago

This is absolutely a thing. Particularly in schools that where the top-down academic culture emphasizes competition, metrics, and prizes. My partner and I both grew up close to the tops of our classes, but his middle school did things like giving trophies for taking the most tests about books they read in their free time. Apparently, cheating, sabotage, and bullying ensued. I do not envy that school’s culture.

22

u/whatever_m1 8h ago

Top students do have academic rivals. Back in my high-school three girls were competing for top spot, they are all friends tho and it was all friendly rivalry.

•

u/OwnZone592 5m ago

damn mine was so toxic, he copied everything i did and threatened to report me to the principal for something trivially small.. anything to get ahead ig

8

u/Heavy-Macaron2004 6h ago

My partner did in every class he took (at least in his master's degree, I don't know what he did in high school). Dude's wicked insanely smart, just getting A's wasn't challenging enough for him. He'd pick out the person in the class it seems the most engaged and invested in the lessons, and befriend them enough to have a grade rivalry with them.

1

u/TrailMomKat 3h ago

My youngest son is in weighted courses and has one. They're running neck and neck for valedictorian for their class so far. They both start college next fall even though they're only 15. They're actually pretty good friends despite the rivalry, though.

1

u/d3athandr3birth 2h ago

I had a clarinet rival in middle and part of high school. I didn't realize it but first chair was serious business to some people. She went on to be drum major and I vibed with my clarinet, but I heard so many horror stories of what she said about me to other people. It took her realizing I didn't care as much as she did for the one sided rivalry to stop. She ended up being a pretty decent high school acquaintance.

u/SkyZippr 16h ago

The way I understand every single word yet have zero idea what the fuck they are talking about 💀

Ethnically black but used whitening creams

u/Gilthoniel_Elbereth 16h ago

For an enlightening but depressing read: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colorism

8

u/Captain_Kira 14h ago

Not sure that destroying period products would help the cramps

8

u/AgenMerlin 18h ago

What....

6

u/Trioch 12h ago

Someone share these whitening creams with uncle Ruckus, there is finally a cure for his revitiligo.

5

u/HolleWatkins 3h ago

This has to be a joke. She failed her exam because of her period?? Like what?

4

u/Rose-Sunflower3 1h ago

the account that posts those on ig is satire, iirc their name is something like authormilliebobbyandbrown

Who the fuck knows, containment seems to have failed on the terminaly online sites and things are leaking out without context

5

Am I stupid? Because I don't even know what this is trying to say. He wants her to suffer more by bleeding through her clothes??

Whitening cream ? Are we in iron sky ?

everytime i see this i go into hysterics

1

u/Afraid_Phrase4770 2h ago

This scenario is so weird because he should have just helped her get a doctor for potential endometriosis or other context-related medical issues if she was too sick. How does blowing up a pad factory help? And why are they mentioning that shes asian and hes black?

1

u/BloomingMosaic 2h ago

why would blowing up a pad factory help

1

u/Butsenkaatz 2h ago

He's Michael Jackson?

This was such a weirdly specific and roundabout way to imply he has some D
