RIP Goodbye to such a good Boy ❤️
I wrote a few weeks ago about Ratchet's health and struggles. Looking for some insight or advice on if considering saying goodbye was the right decision. I want to thank you all for your guidance and kind words during that time.
We were so blessed to have him for 2 additional weeks, he rallied multiple times between that time. Good moments of walks, play, foods and lots of energy and laughs together. Also some bad days between, where he didn't want to eat or do much.
The last week we noticed when he would eat he would spend hours pacing the house, barking and clearly not feeling ok. We knew he was telling us, in the best way he could, that he wasn't feeling okay anymore. It shattered us, we wanted so badly for a miracle or some kind, to make his pain, his disease and his hurt to disappear. I would pray I could take his hurt from him and make it all better.
We loved him endlessly, we did everything we could to keep him healthy and happy.
Today we said goodbye to our little guy, our everything. We knew the time was right. Up until his last moments he went for a walk, played with us in the living room, got endless treats and attention. He was strong body and mind until the bitter end. We just know inside he was hurting.
We have dreaded this day for so long. But he went so peacefully in our arms. As difficult as it was and still is, it was a beautiful gift to be able to let him go with dignity and honor. We will honor him for the rest of our existence and beyond. He was the best boy with so much personality.
I'm going to miss everything about him, the silence in our house is deafening. We have had many tears and even laughs together, reminiscing on his life. It was easy and an honor to love you Ratchet. 14 amazing years.
Hold your little ones close today, give them extra kisses and lots of love and a peanut butter kong in honor of Ratchet.
Rainbow bridge got a beautiful new addition today, wreaking havoc I'm sure ❤️🌈
