HELLCATRAZ GAUNTLET – COMPLETE ROUND 1–30 STRATEGY GUIDE (BO4)

This is my personal Hellcatraz strategy for getting through all 30 rounds. It focuses on early setup, efficient movement around the map, and preparing for the harder challenges later on.

STARTING LOADOUT

Specialist: Overkill
Equipment: Wraith Fire

Perks:
- Mule Kick
- Victorious Tortoise
- Deadshot Dealer
- Stamin-Up (Modifier)

Elixirs:
- Temporal Gift
- Cache Back
- Anti-Entrapment
- Anywhere But Here!

GENERAL SETUP
- Prioritize Mule Kick so you can carry three guns.
- Keep the SDM for early challenges.
- Purchase the Mozu for the weapon sacrifices.
- Collect all five skulls for the free Blundergat by the end of Round 8.
- Prepare the Gat upgrades early.
- Sacrifice the Mozu and SDM when required, then purchase the Tommy Gun.
- Level up Overkill throughout the game. It's especially useful for killing Wardens.

BRONZE STAGE: ROUNDS 1–10

ROUND 1 – SACRED GROUND
- Knife zombies and keep them out of Richtofen's Lab.
- Earn at least 1,300 points before opening the first door.
- Save a zombie upstairs.
- Open the route and buy the Swordfish.
- Trigger and kill the Warden.
- Collect the Warden's Key and shield part.
- Kill the final zombie before entering the prison.
- Enter the prison at the start of Round 2.

ROUND 2 – JUMP SHOT
- Enter the prison.
- Kill zombies while jumping, using the Stiletto Knife.
- Feed the Cell Block dog head.
- Move to the Citadel door near the Warden's Office.

ROUND 3 – WTF
- Stay by the Citadel door near the Warden's Office.
- Back up and aim RIGHT.
- Kill the dogs with the Swordfish.

ROUND 4 – LOAD OF NONSENSE
- Open the door and turn on power.
- Reload after every shot.
- Feed the Warden's House dog head.

OPTIONAL HIGH-RISK BONUS:
- If you have saved enough zombies, cross the catwalk and finish the New Industries dog head.
- Collect the Hell's Retriever.
- Return to New Industries.
- Be careful: the reload-after-every-shot challenge is still active, and zombies may still be spawning.

ROUND 5 – FISH IN A BARREL
- Use the Swordfish for kills.
- Finish any remaining dog heads.
- Get the Hell's Retriever if you haven't already.
- Return to New Industries.

ROUND 6 – DEAD EYE
- Use the SDM for ADS kills.
- Stay in New Industries.

ROUND 7 – SHUT YOUR TRAP
- Activate Anti-Entrapment.
- Stand in the middle of the New Industries trap.
- Let the trap kill the zombies.

ROUND 8 – A.IMING D.OES S.TING
- Avoid aiming down sights.
- Get 6 kills with the Warden's Key, NOT the shield.
- Continue your Spoon and setup requirements.
- Get the free Blundergat if you haven't already.

ROUND 9 – HELLUVA APPETITE
- Turn the Magma Gat into the Acid Gat.
- Use Overkill to gain Specialist levels.
- Prepare Overkill for Round 11.

ROUND 10 – ROOFTOP PARTY
- Stay on the roof.
- Build up a charge to activate Pack-a-Punch.
- Pack-a-Punch the Mozu first.
- Pack-a-Punch the Acid Gat when you have enough points.

SILVER STAGE: ROUNDS 11–20

ROUND 11 – ZOMBIE NOIR
- Stay on the roof.
- Use Overkill early for survival and leveling.

ROUND 12 – BRAIN SOUP
- Buy perks, prioritizing Stamin-Up.
- Keep moving when the Warden spawns.
- Stab the Warden whenever there's an opening, especially when he's breaking windows or locking things down.

ROUND 13 – SNOOZE YOU LOSE
- Run and shoot.

ROUND 14 – TOTAL REPACK
- Finish buying all four perks.
- Reach the Power House before the round ends.

ROUND 15 – POWER THROUGH
- Stay in the Power House.
- Use Overkill and the Acid Gat to survive.

ROUND 16 – SHOOT MO' ZOMBIES
- Stay on the same side of the map.
- Position yourself to forge the Magma Gat next round.

ROUND 17 – OH MY GAT!
- Forge the Magma Gat.
- Find Pack-a-Punch and prepare for the Round 18 weapon sacrifices.
- Your sacrifice weapon should already be Pack-a-Punched.

ROUND 18 – SACRIFICIAL PACKED
- Go to Pack-a-Punch.
- Sacrifice the Mozu and SDM.
- Purchase the Tommy Gun afterward.

WARNING: If you die, your sacrifice progress resets and you'll need to sacrifice two more guns.

ROUND 19 – JAPANESE HORROR
- Keep enemies away from you.
- Use the Magma Gat to maintain distance.

ROUND 20 – SHOWER SHOWDOWN
- Two Wardens spawn.
- Fire the Magma Gat twice at the spot where they're about to walk to kill them quickly.
- Optionally use Overkill at the beginning of the round, but make sure it's ready again for Round 21.

GOLD STAGE: ROUNDS 21–30

ROUND 21 – PRONE TO REGENERATION
- Fully upgrade the Tommy Gun before the round ends.
- If you're low on health, fire one Magma Gat shot nearby to create an opening.
- Use that opening to safely lie down.

ROUND 22 – POINTLESS
- Survive the dog round.

ROUND 23 – UNATTACHED
- Finish any remaining upgrades.
- Refill your shield and Tommy Gun ammunition.
- Do NOT use the Tommy Gun until Round 26.
- End the round on the roof.

ROUND 24 – LOCKDOWN
- Stay on the roof and survive.

ROUND 25 – STAND FIRM
- Stay next to the Stamin-Up room.
- Use Overkill and the Magma Gat.

ROUND 26 – MOBSTER
- Stay on the roof.
- Prepare for the Warden.
- Use Anywhere But Here! if you get overwhelmed.

ROUND 27 – I'M OUT!
- Use Cache Back to refill ammunition.

ROUND 28 – KEEP IT HOT
- Stay in the Warden's House.
- Teleport whenever time gets low.

ROUND 29 – WHO LET THE HOUNDS OUT?
- Spam the Magma Gat.
- You'll receive a Max Ammo at the end of the round.

ROUND 30 – THE WARDEN'S LAST STAND
- Use Overkill and the Magma Gat to survive.

FINAL TIPS

Bronze: Prioritize setup, dog heads, the Warden's Key, and weapons.

Silver: Finish perks, prepare the Magma Gat, and complete weapon sacrifices.

Gold: Focus on positioning, ammunition, Specialist usage, and survival.

This is my personal route, not necessarily the only way to beat Hellcatraz. Some steps, especially the Round 4 bonus, are riskier and are better suited for experienced players.

Examples I can think of are the AN-94 with FMJ or Rapid Fire, the Grav with Hybrid Mags, or the Rampart 17 and extended mags.

I’ve been playing bo4 for a long time and still have yet to get lucky to see m shadows to get him even tho blackout doesn’t have the players it’d be cool to play as m shadows in a game but I’m starting to think I’m really unlucky

I redownloaded again but i cant find any lobbies, once every 6 months im filled with hopium thinking ill find a single game of tdm, and every time ill be sitting waiting for minutes

I'm doing all of the camo grinds with max weapon completion at the moment. I'm about halfway through Cold War and beginning BO6/BO7 and can confidently say BO4 was by far the most BRUTAL of them all. I've heard Vanguard sucks as well so I'm not looking forward to that, but we'll see if it's as bad as this. BO3 was insanely easy (obviously).

More a zombies related question however it stands for the whole game regardless.
