MOD MESSAGE Report Rule 1 violations. Do not engage or argue with brigaders
As you might have guessed, we are under brigade by people who devoted their entire life to being miserable bigots. I get the temptation to engage with them to call out their lies, but it's just better to report them instead. We will straight up ban them, you don't need to prove a point. They are purely here to ragebait, and you're giving them what they want.
There were plenty of occurrences where multiple of you were fighting one of the brigaders in the comments, yet nobody was reporting them. If you wanna help out with the crisis in a productive way, just report them and do NOT engage with them. Also keep in mind that we're doing all we can to keep the subreddit clean from bad actors. We are only so many people, and all of us have lives outside of the subreddit. Even if it takes days, we'll eventually banish them all.

News/Article Bioware's last game, "Mass Effect Universe" teaser trailer leaked.
RIP Bioware. Thanks for the memories.
Edit: More info.
A trailer for Mass Effect 5 meant for internal purposes at BioWare has leaked online, offering a glimpse at what might have been.
The trailer, which IGN has verified as legitimate, was created for EA leadership last year and was not meant for the public. It appeared on Reddit just a day after EA's shock cancelation of Mass Effect 5 and the closure of its developer, BioWare.

Discussion Star Wars: The Old Republic lead writer calls out BioWare for snubbing the MMO
I'm def seeing such a strange pattern here. Recently, Mark Darrah did a really good, interesting interview with some youtuber. ("Bioware insider explains what went wrong" on youtube)
Darrah ended up discussing how difficult it was to figure out how to make story rich npcs for a multiplayer game. He spoke of how when making Anthem, BW had never tried this before. How notion of story rich cömpanions in multiplzyer game was some unknown ground and as such, was some major hurdle in development of Anthem. C'mon, SWTOR had just released back then! Maybe the most expensive game ever made by sister branch of his own studio escaped his notice or something?
SWTOR being a multiplayer game by BW. With much more story rich npc companions than in any Bioware game ever released before or after. Him not mentioning it at all in this context, despite name dropping most anything includlng Witcher and BG3 is just weird.
If you set out to list the biggest bands to originate from Manchester but don't mention Oasis at all, it kinda comes off as pretty passive aggressive really!
Lastly, imo there is time and place for everything, and not getting a mention when pile of people mourn for their freshly lost jobs and studios is prolly not a perfect time for spilling beans like this. She is def right though.
I wonder why they do this. I mesn, obv the BW Edmonton was far removed fröm BE Austin. Even so, through dev push if SWTOR, latter was helmed by some of the most senior devs BW had. Like Ohlen, Kapryshyn.

Discussion Save Mass Effect and Dragon Age — EA, let BioWare's legacy live on!
Like many of you, I grew up playing BioWare games. Mass Effect, Dragon Age, and Knights of the Old Republic weren't just games to me. They were unforgettable experiences filled with incredible characters, difficult choices, and worlds that stayed with us long after we finished playing.
Hearing that EA is shutting down BioWare and cancelling the next Mass Effect is heartbreaking.
But I refuse to believe this has to be the end of Mass Effect and Dragon Age.
If EA no longer believes in the future of these franchises, why not give another developer the opportunity to continue them?
That's why I've started a petition asking EA to consider selling or licensing the rights to Mass Effect and Dragon Age to a capable studio that genuinely wants to invest in their future.
I'm not pretending a petition will magically change EA's mind. But doing nothing guarantees that our voices won't be heard.
Whether you're a fan of Commander Shepard, the Grey Wardens, the Inquisition, or simply great RPG storytelling, this is something we can stand behind together.
Let's show EA that these worlds still matter to millions of us.

Discussion So we have to replay mass effect until the end of time?
My tittle might sound dramatic and idiotic but its the truth? Theres no way nothing can come out within the next 5 years that will be a trilogy and just as good as these 3 games were. and that sucks, i know i knew for a long time that bioware were not the same company that made the original 3 games but now that they have been shut down theres 0 chance that we will get a new mass effect game within the next few years or maybe even ever when its owned by ea and their new owner who has a huge debt to pay and are fully focused on their sports games

Well, gutted is an understatement regarding this news. So in the absence of any future ME5, what's next?
For me, "Osiris Reborn" and "Exodus"
What about the rest of you?

Discussion Bit Reactor should carry on the torch of Mass Effect and Dragon Age
I think Bit Reactor had a very solid game with Star Wars Zero Company. They had a great team of writers that were able to bring a band of Star Wars stereotypes and make them feel unique to their game. Hawk as a main character feels totally at home in a Bioware game.
I think switching from aRPG to tactics game for both IPs would honestly be a cool idea. Both IPs make for a great class system.
What's wild is that this is more likely since Bit Reactor is technically part of EA.
I think both would be in good hands.

Discussion Looking forward to your new ip
To bioware employees: if EA was holding you back then congratulations you’re free now. Go make the next amazing ip. I will buy games that are the calibre of me1 or da origins.
Story matters more than graphics… me1 and da origins are still fantastic games.
Looking forward to it, good luck.
