Found this cat around the westside area, she had a tealish collar with a bell and no tags. She seems well taken care of with claws recently clipped but seems to have a cold. Feel free to DM if you have any info!

Recommendation Where do people date around here

I'm a woman in her mid/late 30s and the dating apps in this town suck so painfully hard. I don't drink, so that cancels out the idea of meeting people at bars or whatever.

So... what do I do?

Recommendation Making friends / what’s the vibe here?

Hi! I’m (28F) newish to the area and having a hard time finding and making friends. I’m not sure where to go as someone in their late 20s to meet people? What do people do around here?

Most of the people I’ve met so far are 23-25 and love going to college bars on a Saturday night. Nothing wrong with that, but I’m not really interested in going to a bar every weekend anymore. Also, whenever I try to meet people there it feels more like drunk people being nice rather than making actual connections.

I’m also feeling like maybe the type of person I’m looking for as a friend doesn’t exist here?? I’m from a very outdoorsy granola area and the people I’ve met here so far seem maybe not into the type of stuff I’m into or the values that I support.

Idk looking for any advice on how to make friends here. Also wondering what the general vibe of Binghamton is because I’m struggling to find people I can connect with.

Recommendation Hair stylist help in Broome county /Vestal(surrounding) areas!!!

Looking for a hair stylist who is truly a magician/artist in their job. Won’t tell me a color will look good just to placet me. I Used to go to someone who could tell me which shades/style would suit/look good with my face structure/ skin tones. Haven’t been able find another stylist like her which has jaded me when it comes to going to hair salons(I’ve resorted to trimming my own hair or just going years without doing anything which isn’t good and not changing the color which I like to do every now and then). Input appreciated Thank you!!!

Has anyone here used a moblie mechanic in this area that was trustworthy? Not seeing a lot of results online. A couple only had one review each on Google, or no website, so what's legit?

Discussion Winston: Adoptable Dog In Need of Home by Nov 15th

Post image
10 Upvotes

Central New York friends: are you in need of the love of the best and most cute dog ever? Please consider adopting Winston. He is a five year old collie/hound mix who sadly came from abusive circumstances, but now is thriving and ready for a fur-ever home!

He needs a calm home with patient dog parents to help him thrive (calm dogs and kids 12 and older are okay, cats are not). He is at foster now but needs to be adopted by November 15th.

If you are interested or know someone who might be interested, details are here: http://cayugadogrescue.org/wp/2026/07/winston-2/

Recommendation Looking for UHS primary

My current doctor is leaving, and I have complicated health issues. I have post treatment lyme disease syndrome, POTS, and MCAS. If anybody knows a doctor taking new patients who’s experienced in any of these or even chronic illness in general it would be great, i’d also prefer a woman as I am a younger woman. Any recommendations?

Recommendation Looking for a trivia night for the common person

The wife and I would like to find a trivia night in the area that is a little less... Sportsy I guess. We have gone to a few but the questions tend to be too sports oriented for us. We are of the nerdier sort. Something Halloween themed would be cool given the current season but I can't find anybody saying what the themes are.

So far I've checked Crooked Mouth, McGirks, Beer Tree, and Belmar. I have to assume someone else is doing trivia nights. Right?

Recommendation Any have experience with Woodford Bros or Foam It for a wet basement?

We bought a place last May and the homeowner said the wet basement wasn't bad, and since it was winter it didn't seem bad.

FF to that spring and forever and it's kinda bad. The front of the basement has OG uneven stone walls from 1867 and when it rains, water runs down in a few places, enough to put small buckets down.

We already have been offered drylock which we know won't last and I came across these two companies which have either foam or Cleanspace.

As everyone can imagine we've also had meh luck with companies.

Has anyone either worked with them, had them do work for you, or have any other recommendations?

Recommendation Does Anyone Pump Old Fuel Oil?

I've got two old oil tanks in my basement in Endwell NY. My father-in-law (RIP) had them filled probably back at the beginning of 2012. When he passed later that year we moved in and have not used the existing system. Now that we are exploring our options for upgrades to our home we are realizing we need those tanks drained. I personally would love to just give it away to someone who may still have a use for it. I'd love it even more to make an extra buck, but that's pie-in-the-sky hopes and not realistic.

So does anyone know a small business or anyone that wants to drain old fuel oil?

Hello! I have a bridge that connects my house to the road and it needs new wood beams. Does anyone here have any recommendations on a company that could handle this? Discussion Dating culture

I’m new here and a single male in my late 20s. I don’t find it easy to make friends from work because colleagues are just colleagues to me.

However I’d really want to hang out with some ppl around my age 20-40 and develop some organic relationships. Any suggestions?

Recommendation Adult Rec Volleyball

I'm aware of the YMCA run volleyball leagues, but I've already missed registrations for the Fall league, so that won't come back around until the winter league. Are there any other places within the area to play rec volleyball at this moment that's not past registration? Could be vestal, endicott, johnson city, whatever. I already have a full team to sign up with, so if anyone could just spit names to look into it would be much appreciated.

Local Politics Local politics in Johnson City

Post image
71 Upvotes

For those of us in and around the village if johnson city it may actually be time to lock in and vote for these local elections. To be clear I grew up here but for a long time couldn't have told you who the mayor was or picked a trustee out of a line up. Started paying attention last year and just wow. No idea so much was actually happening in this place. And its been interesting to see how the trustee people try to stand up for themselves after what looks like years of just enjoying being figure heads. Something i learned is just how nasty they can be. Not being nice doesnt disqualify someone from being elected but maybe being nice should be a consideration.

Anyway im saying if you're in jc consider voting because I think these old peopl3 in office just dont belong there any more.
