Wanted to know if there are any Halloween activities or parties I can take my 2 yr old? Last year I was living in queens and I had her registered at a play gym where we attended a Halloween party but this year we’re down here in Bensonhurst. I would love some recommendations!

All the ducks in a row. No more speeding, tailgating, and racing from line to line. A two-lane road is better for everyone. Especially for the surrounding buildings, less traffic means less pollution and less danger for kids crossing the road to and from school.

I met Will Colton and Larry He while they were canvassing at the subway stop. They were both a pain to talk to, and couldn't get them to either support or oppose any policy. (They also didn't know what "school choice" was, which is concerning.)

I met "Chan the Man's" canvassers, who wanted me to take a picture, but no one would give me an emphatic "yes" when I asked them if "Chan the Man Supports the Bill of Rights"

So.... What exactly differentiates these politicians?

They are strategically positioned to avoid asking for store approval, directly attached to the buildings, and overwhelmingly placed to prevent others from posting anything else.

I'm legitimately curious how much he spent on printing and who he hired to post these posters and signs.

Whole kabocha is 99 cents a pound at Food Bazaar on Cropsey, in the ad that started today. Food Universe on Ave O has hard squash at $1.29 a pound (butternut, acorn, spaghetti or kabocha), and that ad ends tonight.

Food Bazaar and Meat Supreme on 86th St both run through Wed Oct 14. Food Universe, Food Dynasty on 86th and CTown on 18th Ave all end today.

Bell & Evans drums or thighs at Meat Supreme come in $1.50 a pound under the Organic Smart ones at Food Bazaar.

Hey everyone! This year’s Haunted Bay Ridge and Ghosts of Old Bensonhurst walking tours I’m leading are underway! The rain couldn't deter the group last weekend and more than 40 people showed up! As the days grow shorter and the winds begin to howl, ghouls, ghosts, long-legged beasts, and other nameless wretches caught between worlds inhabit ours and keep us from a good night’s sleep.

From a faceless woman late one night on a lonely street near a local church, to army ghosts and disembodied sounds, to the murders of an old spinster and kidnappers, to the mysteries of the neighborhood’s largest park, to a secret society right in our midst, it’s time to turn up our collars, hit the streets, and beware the things that go bump in the night.

for example, 3rd and 4th ave 86 are pretty clean.. but 20th is a walking disaster!

i think the elevated train makes it quite hard for DSNY trucks to get pass , not to mention so many different bus routes going in a straight line makes it difficult for the garbage trucks to get through without causing major backlog..

what can we do as a community to make it cleaner??
