I'm genuinely FURIOUS and disgusted by what happened to me at Zara Forum South Mall, Bengaluru. I walked into the store to shop for clothes and walked out feeling completely humiliated, violated, and traumatized.

I had tried on a few clothes but had to leave without purchasing anything because my family was in a hurry. While exiting, the security alarm went off. Fair enough, I understand stores have security procedures. But what happened next was absolutely INSANE. Staff members accused me of potentially having an unpaid upper garment underneath my clothes and insisted on checking me. I requested a female employee, assuming this would be a reasonable, non-invasive check and told her she could just feel the edges of my shirt to feel if there was a garment underneath.

BUT

A female employee arrived and took me into a trial room and demanded that I REMOVE MY SHIRT. I explicitly refused. She kept insisting that I HAD to comply and couldn't leave otherwise. Despite repeatedly telling her I was uncomfortable, I was pressured into removing my shirt. Then she demanded that I REMOVE MY PANTS TOO. Again, I refused. Again, she insisted and said that I HAVE TO. She proceeded to touch my body with her BARE HANDS and even asked me to remove my underclothing, which I firmly refused.

WHAT GIVES A RETAIL EMPLOYEE THE RIGHT TO FORCE A CUSTOMER TO UNDRESS COMPLETELY AND TOUCH THEIR BODY AGAINST THEIR WILL? Since when does a security alarm give Zara employees the authority to conduct invasive body searches? I NEVER consented to any of this. I repeatedly said NO. Apparently, that meant absolutely nothing to them because apparently, I wasn't allowed to leave until I had been checked thoroughly.

And after putting me through all of this? THEY FOUND ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. No stolen clothes. No unpaid merchandise. The employee simply told me I could leave and they could not find anything and it was probably a "glitch". As though she hadn't just subjected me to one of the most humiliating experiences of my life.

When I confronted the store manager, he acknowledged that the employees had violated their standard procedures which does not allow such level frisking to take place without approvals and apologized. But then the employee said another male staff member told her to do this and started claiming that I had consented to a check, despite my repeated refusals. Instead of taking my complaint seriously, the manager began defending them. At one point, he even sarcastically asked something along the lines of, "What do you want me to do? Start beating her now?" + made a statement saying "We did it in a personal trial room".

I remember him even mentioning somewhat along the lines of "But it was a woman employee who did the checking right" - What the actual hell?

On top of this, I was asked to NOT ESCALATE THE INCIDENT because it could affect the employees' careers, including his own. So apparently, their careers deserve more consideration than basic dignity.

I'm genuinely struggling to understand how employees at a brand like Zara could think this behavior is acceptable. I understand checking a customer when an alarm sounds. I DO NOT understand forcing someone to remove clothing, disregarding repeated objections, touching their body, and then acting like nothing happened.

I'm posting this because I refuse to let this be quietly brushed under the carpet. No customer should EVER have to experience something like this simply because a store's security alarm went off.

My family is calling me back to Delhi now for work purposes and i have to leave my stanza bratislava house where i lived in for 2 years approx, feeling quite emotional leaving behind all the good friends and memories :( that table tennis table is where i spent most of my nights having TT tournaments with my friends all night, that would be a core memory for me all my life 🫶

I came here as a fresh college graduate and this city and my pg gave me the best ever friends and family i could ever ask for. It felt like a home away from home. Gonna miss running in GKVK, umesh dosas a lot too and out drinking with friends at TOIT too 😭

Will this become a pattern or just a one off issue

My new iPhone 17 got stolen yesterday evening from Mysore Palace yesterday evening. I had gone to seen Dasara lightings to Mysore Palace. It was full rush. It was stolen just 50 m away from Mysore Palace. I immediately have done FIR for lost item. I am back in Bengaluru today morning. I have marked my iPhone 17 as lost device from Find My Device. I will mark it as lost in CEIR portal tomorrow. What else can I do to retrieve it?

What really happened to this lake? How can humanity stoop so low. Where the hell is government who is supposed to manage this thing.

I had been a regular visitor at this lake for past few years. Due to personal work, I was away from Bengaluru for few months. To my absolute shock, when I returned I saw that the lake has completely died. Somehow someone managed to connect sewage line to it which led to severe pollution of water and death of ALL the fishes in the water.

Imagine dying such a painful death in your natural habitat. What can we do to improve things here? I don’t want to believe that we have lost yet another lake!

The fire was due to a chemical carrying truck which toppled. The part from Kanakapura road is blocked and the same form hosur road side too.

Even tho 100+ fire engines came the fire isn't getting extinguished. They've parted the tumkur road and now letting go of vehicles slowly from reach side.
