Swing Editor — a free, unofficial settings editor for the Behringer Swing
I got tired of digging through SHIFT + key combos to change the Swing’s global settings, so I wrote a small Windows app that does it all from one window. It’s free and open-source, built from scratch off the device’s own SysEx protocol — no code or assets from the official editor.
Just plug the Swing in over USB and it shows up automatically. Change anything and it’s written to the device half a second later, then read back to confirm it actually stored.
What it does
🔌 Auto-connect — finds the Swing on USB, no port picking.
⚡ Live + verified — every edit is applied and read back to confirm.
🗂️ Every global setting, in plain language — MIDI, keyboard/velocity, pedals, mod & pitch, clock & tempo, sequencer/arp, transposition, CV/Gate, transport, LED brightness. Grouped instead of one endless list, with a help line under each one.
🎛️ “DAW mode” (one click) — turns the Swing into a clean plain MIDI controller: keys, OCT−/OCT+, Hold, pitch bend and mod on channel 1, and nothing else. Transport off (so the Arp + Rec/Stop/Play clock combos don’t leak CCs into your DAW), transposition off, mod strip on standard CC 1, MIDI Thru off. One more click restores everything it changed.
💾 Presets — save/load your settings as .json, or restore what the Swing had when you connected it.
