The promos would have Beavis and Butt-head in party hats with balloons, confetti, and a Happy Birthday banner. Beavis would say, "Hey, Butt-Head. Who's birthday is it again?" Then Butt-head would say, "Uh I think is that Mike Judge dude." Then Beavis would say, "Oh, yeah. He's really old now. Heh Heh Heh Heh."

I shared a Virtual Stupidity clip the other day and someone commented, I wish I could use a controller or the keyboard to walk Butt-Head around in real-time.

Well, guess what! ;) I don't think I can post links right from here, but tl;dr, I got Claude Code to create a patch for the open-source ScummVM which you can run VS on. ScummVM runs on numerous platforms, I've tested Mac and Windows 11.

If there's interest, I can try to share what I've got. I have the patch, and build instructions as well as a precompiled Windows binary. A note for mods etc., this is open-source - there is no copyrighted stuff being distributed here, you still provide the game CD-ROM or files yourself.

They were not a fan of this video and especially the guy who played the Devil. Butthead said "I've seen scarier Satans in a Mr Big video. Now I haven't seen much of Mr Big, but did they even have a Devil in any of their videos?

This might be an unpopular opinion but I really like the 2023 version more than the original. That’s not to say that I dislike the original, but the new version keeps me entertained more. I hope that we get atleast 6 seasons of this show, it’s up there with Regular Show The Lost Tapes as the best modern cartoons in my opinion.

When B&B was revived the first time in 2011, the series was widely praised for remaining faithful to the spirit of the original. Nevertheless, there were those who dismissed it as a relic of the 90s, arguing that was responsible for its short-lived return. Of course, the revival also faced considerable institutional obstacles, not least MTV’s growing emphasis on reality television and its apparent belief that the franchise no longer aligned with the network’s target demographic.

What I find particularly remarkable, however, is the staying power of the current iteration. We’re in an era when even established IP-driven shows often struggle to survive beyond two seasons. You'd get lucky if you even had a third season (that wasn't split into two). Yet Beavis and Butt-Head has surpassed that threshold, reaching four seasons while remaining one of Comedy Central’s more prominent and popular offerings. Perhaps even more impressively, it has managed to cultivate an entirely new audience (Gen Z) beyond the franchise’s existing fanbase. Even if it stops after Season 4, it's longevity is impressive.

Which raises an interesting question: Was 2011 simply the wrong time for the series to return? Or has the current iteration proved more adept at modernizing the franchise’s sensibilities, finding ways to remain culturally relevant without compromising its fundamental identity, in ways that the 2011 revival, despite it's merits, ultimately did not?

I have no idea why my brain crapped this out back then 🤷🏼‍♀️

Although Mike Judge and the boys shaped my teenage years and showed me bands that would go on to my all-time faves - I can categorically say that any time a band I liked came in, Beavis & Butt-head would roast the shit out of them 😅

I always found that funny cos given their characters they always shit on music I expect them to like y'know? Instead it was more about what Mike Judge thought was corny & goofy I guess.

Either way, I love the show, always have 🤙🏻
