Is it safe to go back to the Twelve Colonies?
It's been 150 thousand years since the Cylon Holocaust. Do you think the radiation levels have dropped enough that we might be able to resettle them if we had FTL ships?
Heck, there might be some evolved Cylons there and we have another war with them! That'd be neat.

What if Count Iblis from OG was in the BSG Reboot? How do you think his presence might attempt the cast and series as a whole?
I have started watching BSG 2003, but I will admit whilst I'm overall enjoying my experience, it is sad not to see certain OG characters readopted into Reboot, such as Lucifer or the Imperious Leader, but most of all, Iblis, the villain that I most remember from watching the OG. So in this hypothetical post, what would happened if Iblis was in Reboot as like an evil version of the Messengers/Angels, how do you think that would have affect the series as a whole?

What are the theories on Gaius's elusive pills?
My first watch through, I thought he was just getting fucked up on pills recreationally, but on rewatches, a couple other characters mention the pills (I can't remember who, or when), but it makes me wonder, on like my fifth rewatch, I feel like there were a lot of subtle lines about him being "off his meds."
Or, "Here, you need your meds."
Maybe they just mean he needs to be high to function correctly, but maybe there's more to it than that.
The pills thing seemed to disappear later in the last seasons, but earlier, James Callis made a point to really down those pills dramatically. Which made me think he was only using them to get fucked up.
But some of the things other characters said along the way led me to believe that Gaius was actually prescribed these meds for a mental health problem.
Totally keeping the angel of god stuff out of the picture for now. Do you think Ron Moore was hinting that Gaius was actually unstable, maybe schizophrenic or bipolar?
I wish I could remember the episodes where it seemed other characters commented on his pills, but the google ai keeps insisting Baltar never took drugs. Frakkin Cylons.
Edit: I don't mean this to mean that I think Gaius was seeing head six because he was mentally unstable. I truly believe head six and head gaius were very real. But I wonder if Baltar had other mental problems aside from that. Him as a mortal man (not the being at the very end of Daybreak), dealing with something over the course of the years that made him sway back and forth so dramatically. Despite head six.

Just started BSG. In the prologue, Adama is teaching high school students for some reason. When do the battle scenes start?

For Those Who Watched Both BSG, What Aspects you most like and dislike about either 1978 or 2004 Cylons?
This is not a post of which version is better, but rather a post of what aspects of the Cylons you think was done better or you liked more. Be it their backstory, designs, and overall faction.

Michael Trucco is Awesome
I'm watching the new Carrie on Prime and Michael Trucco (Sam Anders) plays a jerk bad guy lawyer, but he is fantastic in the role. I also now realize that he played a jerk bad guy businessman in The Fall of the House of Usher, and he was even better in that role. I didn't recognize him at the time, because had been over 10 years since my last BSG rewatch. But I just finished a rewatch a few weeks ago and it is still fresh in my mind.
Carrie and House of Usher are both Mike Flanagan shows. He uses a lot of the same actors and actresses in his different shows. Apparently Michael Truco was also in Black Mass, but I don't remember him in that. Helo and Starbuck are also in Carrie. President Roslin is in House of Usher. I've got 2 episodes left to watch in Carrie, but I'm loving it so far. I also love House of Usher and I recommend both shows if you want to see Michael Trucco being awesome.

Finally, FINALLY finished watching BSG. My thoughts
So a brief history of the show. I think I’ve tried to watch this show three times. Once in the 2000s, and one other time in the 2010s. Both times I started with 33, and it felt like I was missing an episode, then was told to start from the mini series, and just never got to it.
Finally I gave it a solid try while on a long flight back in May. Same thing. Forgot about starting with the mini series, but finally did. I have to admit I didn’t immediately fall in love with it, but it was interesting enough to keep watching.
I can’t remember exactly which episodes, but there were some episodes where I felt it was a slog, and some that I was like “oh interesting! Let’s see where this goes”.
I can’t remember which episode it was, but there was one episode in season 2 where I just lost the motivation to watch for a while. Then maybe a month later, I decided to keep watching. I’d watch 20 minutes here, 30 minutes there.
For me though, once we got to the end of season 3, I was like “oh wow! Things are getting really interesting!” And I had to start fighting myself to get some sleep, etc.
The finale I felt was okay. I think I had the same problems most people had with it, including the latter half of season 4.
All in all though, now that it’s finished, I’ll definitely miss the characters of the world. I definitely want to do a re-watch minus some of the filler episodes sometime next year or so.

Fun little story about the beginning of the BSG reboot during a podcast I thought I’d share.
Should start around 19:04ish.
Not long, but a fun tidbit.

S2 e18 Tucker car
This episode takes place in parking garage.
One of the cars is a Tucker torpedo 48, if you ever saw the movie Tucker with Jeff Bridges.
Pretty neat choice to use a classic car for a futuristic movie.
The tucker was considered a futuristic car with 3 headlights.
These small quirky touches are really interesting.
Like we notice that the battlestar galactica isn’t a totally advanced ship although it has faster than light travel. Not like the starship Enterprise. Instead they still got phones and these large metal doors.

Question: Does anyone here read/care for BSG Fanfiction?
I read all of Battlestar Prometheus back in the day, and I've got all of them saved as PDFs to go back and look at. Wouldn't call it groundbreaking writing, but it's still more content within the universe.
Asking partially because I've been working on some vignettes set during Deadlock/the first Cylon war era, not sure if it's something other fans like or would want to see.
Related, and funny given the setting, it makes me a little nervous to put any of my creative work online because of frakking toaster getting their hands on it. 🤣
Anyway, looking forward to hearing opinions.
So say we all.
EDIT: Okay, I am gathering that either nobody cares, or if they do care, it must involve sexy times. Gotcha.

Slowly rebuilding my childhood fleet.
My BSG rewatch (Starting with TOS. G80, then Caprica and the RDM series) has me in a mood to collect BSG again.

Dumb question, probably been answered 100 times before, and will probably be asked again
But is the 6 that ended up on Earth-2, at the end of the series, the same 6 that Gaius fell in love with on Caprica, Caprica 6?
Or is she a different 6? It was hard for me to keep track of all of them. I wouldn't mind it either way. It would be poetic if she was the same 6 as Caprica 6, and it would be tragic hope if it were a different 6.
Both would align with BSG themes.
But what do you think? And is there something obvious that I'm missing?

You are a character in BSG, and in a squad and can vote for either Lee or Starbuck to be the team leader, who are you voting for?
Not just for fun, I would vote for Starbuck as we would need someone who can inspire optimism, which we need in the condition that we are in.

Time theory?
I’m sure it has been discussed, but I personally haven’t seen anyone factor in time into the cycle of “all this has happened before, and all will happen again”
Time is a major factor in stars alignment. Constellations change over time. If I remember from the show, the constellations they see from the tomb of Apollo are our current? Perhaps a few generations from now will use our constellations as a path back.
The cycle gets weird when it comes to Earth and Kobol, and the constellation/colony names are our current constellations. Kobol is supposedly the birth of mankind but then there’s native humans on Earth ‘50,000 years ago” my thinking is that Kobol is the next step after our current time. Within the next 50 years we have developed our own cylons(clankers?) and the next exodus will send our descendants to Kobol back in time somehow(intentional or not?). Kobol gets our constellation names and the path to Earth, but it is lost and they go to the 12 colonies. The cycle is a closed loop paradox.
