Any experienced management professionals here who’ve gone into the Bachelor of Management OR used the 8-yr experience route to get into the Master of Business Administration program?
I need an undergrad or masters to basically check a box for my career. I have two irrelevant college certificates and have worked in progressive management for 18 years. My two college certificates only amounted to 6 transfer credit once evaluated, but my experience I feel covers a lot of the courses in the undergrad. I’d end up testing out of as much as they allow I think. I’m sure I’d learn a bit but the masters is where I see ability to actually advance what I know.
I can either basically do the 3-yr bachelor of management as fast as I can from scratch (minus 6 credits) OR apply to do the experience route into the masters, not get an undergrad, but end up with a masters. Both would check the box needed for my career.
My predicament is whether going from two college certificates to a university masters is gonna kill me. I will say I’m a quick learner. I work best with self paced/online study (neurodivergent). I have 18 yrs of progressive management experience. I am great at critical thinking. I’ve self published 27 YA novels and 3 non fiction self help type books so writing isn’t an issue either. I’m great at math but haven’t done it since high school when I took math 31 (unless you count bookkeeping courses but that’s a lot easier than math 31 was).
I guess I’m just looking for experience or input because I’m a bit stuck on the decision. I’ve submitted my resume for informal assessment to see if it’s even an option to jump into a masters route.
Open to ideas and options, even course suggestions, tips, etc. I prefer only online options (or mostly online), as I have three kids under 5 at home, own two small businesses, and I work as a chief of operations hybrid for 4 entities (under a single owner).
