Hello all!

tldr: I made a linocut print block to create the album artwork of a nature inspired album.

My name is Nickalus Lindale, I am a multimedia artist based in the PNW. This year I released an electro-acoustic album and decided to use a linocut print for the CD artwork. I have made linocuts in the past but it has been a couple years.

Because the music is all about the nature of the Pacific Northwest I decided to use inspiration from the same place. The picture I carved is a Vaccinium Parvifolium, or Red Huckleberry, from "Flora of the Pacific Northwest: An Illustrated Manual ". This was pretty difficult for me because of the fine details and thin lines in this style of art but ultimately, very happy with it.

I used a digital scan of the print to make the artwork on the actual CD and also used it to print on envelope mailers to send them out. My next plan for the print block is to use it with some collaging or something along those lines. The last time I made linocuts I printed the artwork on pages from old books I used to make blackout poetry and think something like that might be cool for this one too.

Happy to hear any tips on the process or anything you notice!

PS. All in this took me about 9 hours.

What does it look like to you? I call them Psychedelic Ginger Cloves.

I wanted to reveal a boss from my game, Arrow & Fang and I thought a time lapse video of me drawing it from start to finish would be cool. I had never created a time lapse video before, it was fun!

Enjoy some music from the soundtrack while you watch. I've also got a Discord server, would be wicked to see you there. There's a link for it on my website, Steam page and socials.

The game has voice acting in it as well! 😄
