Anecdote i couldn’t resist

my old college roommate who was not super nice to me has been posting deliciously cringey MLM-y statuses lately, in a voice that sounds NOTHING like her. (“let’s do the damn thing, stay-at-home mamas!✨💖!”) it’s so satisfying. she’s being extremely vague about this exciting new venture she’s involved in and tells commenters to message her when they inquire on her posts. the usual MLM bullshit. i couldn’t detect any hints of which company based on her language except that she mentions bogglingly high earnings, like $85k a month, for bringing in “paperwork”. paperwork. such an odd thing to keep mentioning!!!! i decided to be a troll and force the name of it out of her.

KAnGEN! delicious!!!!! the dumbest of them all. i hope she enjoys her special magic water while i enjoy some sweet schadenfreude.

Who? Never heard of them? Just another "wellness" and supplement MLM, founded by MLM pros.

Apparently lasted less than a year, and the founders are already in their next MLM.

Discussion Another one bites the dust- Purium

Today, with absolutely no warning, Purium superfoods let all of their distributors know that going forward their down lines are dissolved and they are moving to an affiliate structure. Under the new structure, affiliates receive 20% off the first order from a new customer, 10% for 3 months after that, and after 4 months that the customer “belongs to the company” and no further commissions are paid. Overnight so many people lost their incomes and hopefully finally realized that their “business” was never theirs and these companies are all the same.

I already see a lot of them already declaring which new company they will join and telling their “team” to follow, so it seems like many of them did not learn their lesson and don’t care to do the ethical thing and warn everyone that it will end this way, every time

Discussion Amway Vitamins

I get a food box once a month. The contents is from Feeding America. The distribution center is a small Seventh Day Adventist church. There is always tables with miscellaneous items for free as well. I believe these are things from church members.

Last week there were at least a dozen containers of Women's Multivitamins in gummy form. I took two containers, about two months supply. You take four a day. Looking closer at the distributor, I saw they came from Amway, retailing at $41 a container. Obviously there are church members selling Amway. The congregation is quite small and none of them appear to be wealthy. It made me very sad to think this group of people is being preyed upon by the MLM Amway.

In the past they have also had containers of Protein powder. Dozens of these; I assume the sell by date has past.

Discussion Most evil MLM companies?

I know we love to snark and giggle at all the Hun nonsense of MLM's, but what are people's thoughts on the worst, corrupt, most exploitative, and downright evil MLM company, the genuine worst of the worst? What's your pick and why?

Discussion How do MLMs choose their top executives?

CEOs, CFOs, COOs all come from somewhere and MLMs certainly aren’t going to ascend “associates” for these kinds of positions.

It’s got to be a person who is okay with financially and psychologically abusing others while making millions. They would also need to be good with protecting a morally bankrupt model and keeping the status quo safe.

An MLM CEO would need to be a kind of psychopath.

Story Seoul Snow is a Scam

This is meant to inform, not defame. People are free to make their own decisions.

Seoul Snow was established around 2024–2025. The owners are Jay and Bryan Choi, a Korean father‑and‑son duo. The Filipino shareholders is the son's former partner.

Seoul Snow is the second brand from a failed venture, and arguably a former scam, called Gugu Manju. Based on anecdotal feedback, the modus operandi is the same:

1. Low buy‑in, typically PHP 300,000.
2. Urgent request for a 50% down payment to "reserve" slots and locations, even though the company has no authority to promise them.
3. Once paid, you are pressured within days or weeks to settle the balance — citing fees, machine imports, design costs, or other reasons.
4. If you pay, you are ghosted and the team becomes unresponsive.
5. When they respond and a location is booked, you are encouraged to sign the lease.
6. As the lease deadline nears, you are presented with an unexpectedly high build cost — $300,000 to $500,000. You are stuck: pay more, or cancel.
7. Request for refunds are ignored.

To date, over 25 failed franchisees have requested refunds. None have been paid.

Jay and Bryan Choi continue to join expos and sign new franchisees despite outstanding refund obligations. Several past clients have filed demand letters. Bryan Choi was recently issued an arrest warrant; he has posted bail and is awaiting a hearing. Jay Choi has promised to return funds, but no one has been paid.
If you have contract concerns, look for the Facebook group "Seoul Snow Franchisee Helpline," organized by current and past franchisees. Members have shared legal positions and documents. There is also "Seoul Snow Franchisee+Management," where members are attempting to resolve issues with Jay Choi. To date, Seoul Snow has not addressed any franchisee issue

Anecdote Can you name this MLM?

Thumbnail
24 Upvotes

We just met someone from our neighbourhood for coffee who, I think, was trying to pitch an MLM but I want to know which one, clues are below, please help me ID:

  1. Met at a café. He suggested to meet again after learning that we (husband and I) were hoping to leave our 9-5 to start our own business and weren’t sure where to start.
  2. He said he had mentors who did all the trial and errors and started businesses, and can help us connect with mentors so we can avoid some of these errors when starting our business.
  3. BIG CLUE (maybe): He said he was just at a gathering/conference with business mentors from around the world in Kentucky over the weekend (oct 17-18, 2026) - he was still wearing a paper bracelet with “Celebrate” and “Kentucky” written on it.
  4. He repeated a few times that business isn’t just financial, it encompasses life goals, passion, networking, family.
  5. He answered most questions directed at him with either a question, or “we will get to this later”.

Ex: When pressed about the nature of his “mentorship” thing, he would reply with this question: “Have you ever watched Shark Tank”? I asked about what he himself got from these mentors, he answered “Have you ever read this business book (forgot the name”? When I asked what was the conference in Kentucky about, he replied we will get to this later.

  1. He described his role as that of a gatekeeper between himself and the mentors. First he needs to know what pur plan is, and “if we are serious” whatever that means.

Help please? I am SO curious!

Help/Advice Is this guy trying to recruit me?

So many months ago, an acquaintance I had not seen in about 8 years called me, left me a voicemail that said something like "Hey (my name). It's (his name). How are you? Nothing much, I just want to ask you something. Can you call me back?" (Note: This was translated from our native language but that would be the gist in English.)

I didn't respond to his voicemail. Although I was really curious, I was also going through something and I didn't want him to ask about that (if somehow he heard about it).

Then months passed and I was helping my family with their food delivery business. I dropped off some food for Greatway Financial, and then bumped into him. That was when I found out that he worked there. To those who don't know, Greatway Financial is an MLM in Canada. We didn't talk about that voicemail but just made some quick small talks.

Days after that, he left me the exact same voicemail again! "Hey (my name). It's (his name). How are you? Nothing much, I just want to ask you something. Can you call me back?"

What do you think? :) Is he trying to recruit me for Greatway Financial?

Bravenly Bravenly huns have infiltrated an arts festival.

These huns have set up a side hustle, (because their Bravenly ‘business’ is doing so well /s), where they're selling Temu/Shein similar tat.

I couldn't find any other MLMs on the lists of vendors, and nothing at their stall could remotely be considered to be one-of-a-kind or handmade. You'll see in the third slide where they're also ‘secretly’ selling/recruiting for Bravenly. They've hidden the Bravenly name, but you can see Bravenly sachets in those plastic bags.

Buy a shite t-shit, and get the shits from whatever is in the ‘mystery’ bags, and a bit of lead poisoning from the jewellery.

Monat Pyramids everywhere?? 😂

So “Monations” is currently happening in Europe (Monat convention) and an acquaintance is attending and posts this on her story. I just find it kind of funny and ironic how they are literally walking round being presented new product sneak peaks wrapped in pyramids on pyramids everywhere. But of course, Monat is not a pyramid scheme, it’s your business girlboss baby!

*edited spelling mistake

Discussion why is QNET considered a scam?

I know that it’s a MLM scheme but what are the reasons for it to be considered a scam? do they not pay you?

i was encouraged by a friend of mine that i have known for so long to join QNET a couple months ago and he said that it’s a good opportunity to make money and that someone he knows has done it for a long time and makes so much money out of it.

Help/Advice Would you?

Post image
45 Upvotes

I just discovered that my elderly Mother is buying Bellame beverage products from "a friend of a friend of a friend's son's wife", whom she only interacts with on Facebook. This has also led to a realization that she's previously targeted my Mother in various other schemes. Thankfully the last one was so irrational that my Mother figured it out on her own and stopped buying into the products.

Yet, here we are again. I am fairly certain that my Mother is only buying products from the MLM hun and not falling victim to actually joining herself. But I am also not willing to wait around and allow the chance to present itself either.

I plan on having a conversation with my Mother about this tomorrow and show her some of the resources I found here. However, I am having a hard time talking myself off the ledge of messaging this person myself and letting them know that I will not allow them to continue targeting my Mother with this predatory behavior and that it would be in their best interest to remove my Mother's contact information as well as any payment information she may have provided for these products.

What say you all? Take the matter into my own hands and reach out to the hun directly or see how this conversation goes with my Mother?
