I am returning from a looonggg break from animal jam. I played in high-school, back when bowties and my alpha Armor i think were my rarest things... I am an RN now and thought of playing with my daughter now muhahaha (start her into the sweet world of AJ gambling).

How Gucci rich am I now lmao? I have no idea what any of this new content is, I see cool pets posted all the time. I need guidance for literally anything past 2016 ish. I bought so much stuff back in the day, I literally have every colour of bread hat for some forsaken reason. I see according to this reddit that forest boots are Gucci now but no clue what else.

Thanking the AJ gods that I somehow did not get hacked during apparently MULTIPLE breaches of their potato security.

Photo for attention, sorry (that's my low effort edit!) but I was an extremely paranoid kid growing up and had a lot of strange fears, especially in regards to technology and the nebulous online world. I know other sites like Webkinz had rumors about "webkinz killers" and the like, and Animal Crossing had its fair share of fake villagers that would ruin your game, so I figured in the spirit of the spooky season, I'd ask!:

Was there anything in Animal Jam that scared you? Be it a playground rumor, a glitch you encountered, a story one of your buddies told you once, or just something that your kid mind conjured up?

I know we've all had our fears about fman112 hacking us or encountering the lost jammer, but I had a specific fear of that wall with the Greely engraving on it in Coral Canyons because I thought if I walked too close to it it'd just open and take my animal away forever, I was also afraid of the Magic Mirror den item cause I thought something evil would crawl out of it and hurt my animal if I played the game too late at night. So I'm wondering if anyone else had strange or out there fears related to something in or around Animal Jam?

If there wasn't anything that specifically scared you, are there any strange rumors you remember? Besides breaking the ice or bridge, of course.

This person came up to me a few days ago asking if they could draw me, I said sure! Their art was cute and I wouldn’t ever say no to free art. That’s what I thought it was. Free.

They never told me about their prices or anything, or told me it would be art I’d have to pay for. Just asked if they could draw me. I know 15 saps isn’t a lot but this feels unfair? It feels like entrapment almost? If that’s a word I can use for this. I feel like I shouldve have been made aware that I was going to end up paying

I’m still going to pay regardless as it’s little to nothing, but I really wished they had told me it was going to be something I needed to pay for.

Let me start this post out by saying I love this game, and I love the community, and the reason I play is because of the creativity put into the game and seeing everyone’s work put into their characters.

With that said I do NOT love the company. They say their main target audience is children, but it’s no new information that the wild works company is money hungry. For everyone wondering the skeleton tarantula token is available at claw’s n paws for 50 sapphires. But put it up for 2 USD in premium shop. Do not be fooled.

Now I am an adult and have my own money that I can buy this but if animal jams target audience is children why are they so comfortable charging real money for playable characters and pets?

The Frankencat is an adorable playable in game character that is only achievable by spending real money for one of the biggest updates of the year (NOTP) they really did insist transaction, I am disappointed in the company for pushing child exploitation.
