I have a long distance boyfriend who offered to help me when I said I wanted to grab some flowers or find something to deliver from my mother's birthday yesterday. As the day pass by he said after work I'll see if this florist is open and I say What are the cross streets I'll see what's available. I find an edible arrangements but next thing I know he's on the phone at the florist. He's trying to show me their selection but the video is blurry he points out some pretty pink flowers and a bundle and I asked if they are peonies he asks the shop worker who confirms. I say okay grab several of each color and see how they look together. Next thing I know I see a red a yellow several pink and a white and I say no take the white out grab at least two of each and ask if they have any greenery. Next thing I know I'm looking at a bundle with baby's breath and say okay take the red one out and grab at least two of each... He asks if I want a birthday card and I said no they usually have a free note card you can fill out so he finds that and asks what I'd like to write on it. Next thing I know he's written "from your loving daughter, sign baby feather" which is an alias of mine. Laughing so hard like who writes sign when they sign their name? It reminded me of those language barrier birthday cake message fails. So after we're done laughing I assume he's going to rewrite the card but I can tell he's getting impatient and so I say okay well at least add an "ed and a comma!" When I asked to see more flowers I see them wrapped up and he says "oh I paid for them already, what is one of her favorite treats I can go to a nearby bakery and then send it in an Uber package delivery". Now I assumed he was going to drop these off in person for me but with the nor'easter weather I didn't mind and so I say she's been doing great with her diet so she doesn't really want cakes so just grab a Three musketeers bar... Turns out they aren't as popular in New York at least not in his area so he had to make several attempts and next thing I know he's telling the shop worker "I'm not making fun of your store but nobody eats these so I'm like..." And then he proceeds to pretend he's blowing a bunch of dust off of the candy bars. By the time the package finally makes it to my mom she sends this photo and I immediately continue cracking up and respond to her saying "I tried to get help sending you a little surprise." And then I text him saying those guys lied to you these are carnations not peonies! We laughed so hard we cried... Happy birthday mom. 🤣💐😮‍💨

Like… what the hell? Who are these two old people who are in bed together, toasting closed plastic bottles full of juice, with a single shared tray containing one plate on which there are stacked four plain slices of bread, with one knife.
