13 (Season 13) Satan's plan makes no sense Spoiler

So Satan's plan is to speed up the aging process of Mr. Nas so that he could win the bet with God quicker.

But God would know it's cheating and would cancel the bet.

Mr. Nas is only 87.

The deal was that Satan spends 100 years living on Earth as a human. Not have his human host be biologically 100 years old. I guess you can achieve that with 60 by smoking, drinking, doing drugs and eating junk. You don't need complex procedures from John Waters.

Wouldn't it have made more sense, storytelling vise, for Mr. Nas to be like 98, and on death's door, and they're doing all this medicine and witchcraft to actually keep him alive for 2 more years? Or 6 months? Or 13 months?

They could have had 13 episodes be 13 months. The clock is ticking. Mr. Nas is weak but Satan's hold on the earth is getting more powerful. Wars, Tsunamis, Infections, Hunger, Accidents increasing with time.

Satanic sacrifices to give Mr. Nas some more life force. Stuff like that.

I'm rewatching 1984, and I feel so bad for him. Yes, he eventually was a killer, but he had such a rough life. From his childhood to being framed, and then what happened to his wife. To me, he's one of the more tragic characters, and I can't help but feel bad for him.

Shoutout to Lily Rabe for her portrayal as his mother. She's an amazing actress and truly made me hate her character.

13 (Season 13) Very disappointed by AHS13 so far Spoiler

I’m just really disappointed. I think the storylines are weak and don’t make sense. There’s too much fan service. No explanation of why certain characters are there. I’ve been watching but it has been a slog, to hear hear this isn’t in fact the final season after all makes the fan service all the more baffling.

13 (Season 13) Wardrobe Spoiler

Random gripe/observation. Wth is up with Constance’s wardrobe this season? She wears the SAME exact dress the whole time. Just a slightly different pattern. She was known for her bright colored day dress. Homage to her southern roots. Now she stays in a bunch of funeral dresses.

Murder House (Season 1) Murder House Finale - Appreciation Post

In a world full of poor American Horror Story final episodes, Murder House is one of the dark horses of the group. I just rewatched Murder House completely, not binging, not while doing other things, for the first time in years. I really took my time rewatching this season and got to enjoy every little detail of it. I was worried that the AHS finale curse would take away from the magic and art I was re-discovering upon rewatching, but it didn't at all.

This finale was so good! Nearly perfect in my books! It wrapped up the plots nicely and it just had such a beautiful essecene to it. The first part of the finale really gave us the ending of the story, it could've stopped there to be honest. But I am so glad it didn't.

The 1st time jump, to when the new family moved in, I was worried was going to be terrible, but I really enjoyed it! Seeing the whole house of ghosts, especially the Harmon family, work together to save another family from experiencing the horrors of the house, was amazing and I couldn't stop myself from smiling. Shoutout to the pure beauty and art to the directing and acting and everything in the scene where the new residents are running out of the house into the car, as the Harmons slowly walk out in their iconic stances while 'Tonight You Belong to Me' played. Then the Harmons' lines about the family leaving just gave it quite a heartwarming and wholesome tone to it, that contrasted so wonderfully to the events that just happened, with the new residents and in the previous episode.

The Christmas scene, oh my goodness, I felt like crying. Seeing Moira become the godmother and then all the Harmons decorating the tree while 'The Little Drummer Boy' played softly behind the dialogue.

Then the true epilogue, Constance's monologue was beautifully acted, written and executed. The filming is beautiful. Then Constance coming home to find the babysitter murdered and the camera slowly pans up as the iconic whistle starts fading in and builds. A true work of art, the use of music and lighting in this episode.

Overall, the Murder House finale might be one of my favourite episodes of AHS ever. Do yourself a wonderful favour and rewatch it. It almost gives you that feeling of nostalgia, it is fantastic!

13 (Season 13) Season 13 Predictions Spoiler

((SPOILERS FOR AHS 13))

Over the last few weeks of watching AHS 13, my boyfriend and I have been going out of our minds trying to guess what everything is building up to. I personally feel this season has been pretty disappointing so far, with it feeling like a confusing mess of nostalgic characters/cast and memed quotes being shoved at us in hopes that the nostalgia will be enough to distract us from the lack of actual plot. My boyfriend, however, has a more optimistic view. While he agrees it’s been confusing, he’s waiting to see if the show can actually pull it all off with a conclusion that explains everything before declaring the season is bad. I really hope he’s right. I want the final episodes to be so amazing, with a twist to mind-blowing, that I’m forced to shamefully eat my words and take back everything I’ve said.

Anyway, here is a list my boyfriend and I have compiled of our predictions for AHS 13, in descending order of most to least likely:

-Mallory is now the supreme.

For a new supreme to fully rise, the old one must die. Cordelia was killed by James March, causing Mallory to immediately inherit the title and all its power, and neither of them have realised yet.

-Ben DeSoto is Devon

He looks similar enough, and if he ages quickly like Michael Langdon did then him being a grown man is explainable.

-Ben DeSoto is actually Ben Harmon.

Mallory has already shown us she can send others back in time. Perhaps she sends Ben DeSoto back in time to the late 80’s/early 90’s (erasing his memories and replacing them with false ones maybe) where he meets Vivienne. He could easily be given a new surname, and his age makes sense for him to be Violet’s future (past?) father.

The purpose for him being sent back to eventually become Ben Harmon, we aren’t entirely sure of. My partner believes it would be a good way to create a loop, tying Murder House, Apocalypse and 13 together.

(This plot line could go together with the previous one (he is born Devon, then becomes Ben DeSoto, who then becomes Ben Harmon.)

-Ben is the son of God.

Ben doesn’t seem inherently evil like Michael Langdon was.
He also hates the number 13, which can be explained away due to his foster mother dying when he was 13, but I feel his phobia of it has deeper significance.

This theory could go two ways:

1.       God created his own son to battle Satan or the real anti-christ. Maybe he wants Satan to believe Ben is the anti-christ to get close to him for a better chance at beating him.

2.        Satan knows and is trying to manipulate and corrupt Ben to serve his own needs and win the bet with God.

Smaller scale theories:

1.       Ashley is also an anti-Christ

2.       Constance and Ashley are working together to double cross Satan (my theory)

3.       Constance and Ashley are working together for Satan (my boyfriend’s theory)

4.       Satan has 13 children and he is planning on sacrificing them all (my boyfriend’s theory)

5.       Ben DeSoto could be the stillborn child of Ben Harmon and Vivienne, brought back to life by Satan (why: idk?)

6.       Fiona Goode is going to betray Cordelia (maybe to save herself from going back to hell)

Final thoughts:

Why did the creators make the choice to give our main character the same first name as (one of) season one’s main characters? That doesn’t feel like a coincidence, and I’ll be very disappointed if it is.

I also really hoped they would bring the alien plot back around for this season as I feel it’s been so neglected! Double Feature (Death Valley) ended by basically saying the aliens are ready to start wiping out humanity to replace them with the hybrids, so are we getting back to that?? Satan VS Aliens fighting for control of the planet is a wild plot line, but AHS has always been weird. GIVE ME CLOSURE ON THE ALIENS PLS RYAN MURPHY.

To end on a good note, having the old cast back has been great, especially Jessica Lange.

((If I’ve missed some relevant information or misremembered stuff, then whoops- feel free to correct me lol))

Hotel (Season 5) Who the murderer in hotel is, is an absurdly horrible twist, or I am an idiot. Spoiler

Ive been watching ahs with my family. Maybe im jumping the gun because we are about 9 minutes until the ending of the episode revealing its John, but oh my god. This is stupid. The episode where wren died when she called the killer a him I was super confused because then it's either Matt Bomers character, which sure. He's a murder and could kill those people but we haven't seen him be religious at all or have any reason at all to do this weird taunting the police thing which lady gagas character would be very against, as then the police could find out about the whole vampire thing and blah blah.

Then there is also the idea oh it's the male vampire lady gaga was with that looked like Tristan and that's done by doing an out of order pulp fiction kind of thing which would also be stupid for too many reasons to name here.

Or it's john and he has some sort of DID murderous religious personality which takes over and gives him amnesia. That would be so stupid and we have so little evidence of no way it could be that. It's that one. Wow. Terrible terrible terrible. They do a horrible job at writing an actual mystery and it was unfun and unsatisfactory to follow or see the reveal

Let me say its haven't watched far enough to explain the amnesia or the ten commandments aspect specifically really. Maybe ill look like a fool. But im bored.

First, He has had like 0 religious iconography in his home. But i guess his other personality is obsessed with religion yet doesnt change anything at his home or anywhere john wouldve noticed. Hes a deeply debout religious person to do religious themed killings but not religious enough to put spiritual things in his house or keep any religious shit on them like religious people always do.

So clearly he is still somewhat conscious and not going full blackout where something else takes over that also gives john amnesia yet so maybe this next part is also explained. But.

No one he works with or any of his family noticed he randomly gets an ABSURDLY different religion obsessed personality and that he sneaks of to be a SERIAL KILLER???? What?????

Next is how March saw the dark aura which means John is like murderous deep down. What????? He has been through such horrible shit throughout this season, and he has not been a violent man whatsoever. The most weirdly see him do is knockout the guard sneakily and he coildve beat him much worse and he didnt. We have seen people push him around and the most hes done is fucking ball up his fist, but now were completely changing his personality saying that hes actually always had a bloodlust hes hiding and constantly resisting????? Since when what???? In this episode he puts his hands on Liz and she pushes him back and threatens him and he doesnt get all crazy from that either. But they say before he would have to resist not just beating the people he arrested? We are completely changing a characters personality scene to scene to fit the mystery.

Idk im waiting until I guess they will use something to like brainwash him into having his split murder personality i guess. Or im wrong on that. Am I right about anything. Have i missed everything. Have it completely misinterpreted everything. Idk let me know.

American Horror Story (General) Where has your opinion changed during rewatches?

I’ve been doing a series rewatch and there are some moments my opinion has changed. Maybe its because of binging it or maybe it’s just a reflection of being a different person than I was while originally watching.

Here are some moments that have stuck out to me:

- Freak Show: I remember HATING the musical numbers and saw it as RM getting his fix after Glee had ended but now i actually enjoy them and understand why they’re there. I also hated Dandy stepping in for Twisty and the overall pacing but FS might now be one of my favorite seasons overall and the story as a whole makes so much sense.

- Apocalypse: the first 3 episodes during airing I was super into but during a rewatch I was painfully bored and couldn’t find it enjoyable like I had.

- Double Feature: loved Red Tide while airing and hated DV. On rewatch, I found DV much more fun and RT put me to sleep.

What about you? Are there any specific seasons or moments where you did a 180° on after revisiting ?

13 (Season 13) So did Ryan actually write this season? Spoiler

As title. I think I read somewhere that Ryan claimed he spent “years writing this season”. But if you look at the writing credits, most of the episodes were written by Ned Martel and Charlie Carver. So I wonder if the final product was actually what Ryan originally wrote, or maybe something happened and what we have seen so far was written from scratch last minute over night 😂

13 (Season 13) This season Spoiler

I’m sorry I have to give my opinion

This season I am really enjoying it I don’t know if it’s the fact I watched apocalypse straight away before it
But I am honestly really enjoying it
Now by no means is it great (what was the choice to make Constance (no idea how to mark this as a spoiler so I’m just going to trail off)

And the witches storyline should have been part and parcel of the Ben storyline
But I honestly honestly am enjoying this season
Although I admit there is one glaring admission which is Devon
But with 3 episodes to go
We will see how this ends

I’m interested to see
What are your thoughts about this season
If you love this season why?
If you hate this season why?
If you are in the middle again why?

Onwards

13 (Season 13) I can’t believe no one has said anything about Coco?? Spoiler

Full disclosure that I am not a Leslie Grossman fan in the slightest and hate the character to begin with. But in 13…. whew, what in the hell am I watching/listening to? I know she’s meant to be ridiculous, shallow, a bit of a dingbat. But this is just beyond. What’s with the blood sugar “power”? And the Sorry scene? I’m with Madison wanting to fling the board and pieces across the room.

American Horror Story (General) Ryan Murphy?

• Upvotes

ive been rewatching the seasons with my mom recently as we are both long time viewers of the show starting back in 2012. but upon rewatch I can’t help but notice how engrained every season is with particularly occult and satanist themes. lotttts of heavy handed Christianity and satanic imagery plastered and mixed into every single plotline. I mean just look at apocalypse and even this new season 😭 what do you guys think? im unfortunately still addicted to this nonsense show

13 (Season 13) The finale Spoiler

Does anyone else feel like they will wrap up the devil story by episode 12 and episode 13 will be like an epilogue?

I’m in the mindset that they want to do a Coven spin off given recent discussion from the cast at Paleyfest. I kinda feel like the finale will set up something to new to come.
