What if the Most serene republic of San Marino joined the axis powers? This could happen at a couple diffrent points. One of these points could be in 1942 when the axis powers looked very powerful. This power could cause san marino to join the Axis in a bid to gain something (land, riches, ect). In a diffrent scenario the invasion of italy was stalled by the reincarnation of Napoleon or something and the germans would also have won in stalingrad. This would most likely result in the original Sammarinese fascist party staying in power for longer and still having ties with fascist italy. Later in mid 1944 the British empire would HEARTLESSLY bomb the glorious republic of San marino like they did OTL, this could then potentially cause the fascist government to join the axis for protection and as a protest against the bombing.

When i say this i mean all california states/provinces.

so baja california, baja california sur, and republic of california all become one country.

California would carry most of the weight since  in the us would still be one of the riches countries in the world and have a huge population, while having a giant film and tech industry.

but would they still inherit the problems that baja california has including the cartels and poverty  , or with the social programs, huge budget for a potential milatery/police force,would fix it? or with its low population  would it be hardly a problem ling term?
