It’s telling you NOT to rank your vote? What’s the strategy here and who is behind it?

My wife is considering going back to school to become a dental hygienist. Seems like they make good money up here too. Anybody know if they are in high demand or have any info or advice? We live in the valley. Thanks!

New to Anchorage and saw this sign. Then a new friend told us there was a family killed here a decade ago (or more?) and then someone else had a close call here. Should we not do this trail as much? We have bear spray and usually hike as a couple. No dogs.

AST still has daily reports of when they make annarrest. Wasilla, for years now, just hasna "crime map" which seems to be out of date and very vague.
I can understand protecting the idendity of the victim, but i always thought part of why police eeport on arrests is so the general public knows that if john q hasn't been seen forbawhile, its because the police arrrestednhim for something and not that he is missing or dead. So why did wasilla change this?

How'd the debate go (Peltola v. Sulivan)? Was there new info or was anything made more clear in today's debate for you or others you know?

"As a potentially historic El Niño heats up, snow predictions across Alaska this winter are “unfortunate.” That’s according to Brian Brettschneider, a senior climate scientist with the National Weather Service Climate Prediction Center in Anchorage."

Went to check my mail today and I'm used to throwing away 2-3 pages of crap. Today I hit the jackpot and somehow ended up with this entire stack of garbage.
I find it depressing that someone spent actual money to make all these and send them across the state to various people. Such a waste of resources to end up in my box and straight into the trash.

I've been noticing something about the political ads I've been seeing lately, and it's honestly getting ridiculous. 😭
Every single one seems to be attacking somebody and I see them every single day now.
One ad is telling me Mary Peltola sold out Alaskans, that she looks Alaskan but doesn't put Alaska first, and that she supposedly voted against something benefiting our troops.
Then another ad comes along telling me Dan Sullivan is a millionaire from Ohio who doesn't understand Alaska, bringing up his daughters, the Epstein files, and whatever else they can throw at him.
And I'm just sitting here thinking, "Great. A rock and a hard place."
I'm not even bringing this up to defend either politician. I'm just genuinely curious why so much political advertising seems to revolve around convincing us that the other person is terrible rather than explaining what their own candidate actually intends to do for Alaska.
Both sides seem to use the idea of being "Alaskan" against each other. One supposedly doesn't put Alaskans first, while the other supposedly doesn't understand Alaskans.
Okay, but what about the actual policies? What about our communities? What are these people proposing to do? Or are we just at a point where any option isn't a good option?
I understand criticizing someone's political record. That's fair game as it should be. But there's a difference between informing voters about someone's decisions and just condemning them for thirty seconds, over 12 times a day.
Maybe I'm just paying more attention to these advertisements lately, but it's becoming exhausting.
Has anyone else noticed this? Do these ads actually influence your opinions of the candidates, or do they just make you more frustrated with political campaigning in general?

I can't include a picture, but it was so cool to see an upset and rare tiebreaker from Ron Clarke on 10/12. Wonder if he's on here. If so, congrats!

The Sullivan ads where it’s 5 white Alaskans stating that she’s not a true Alaskan is such bullshit.
Someone shared info on the old army guy in these ads. Apparently he and his son don’t talk because of the son’s childhood.
In a newer ad, there is a native Alaskan saying that Mary has sold Alaska out to the libs. A quick search on this lady and her husband show a hell of a criminal history until they because Jesus freaks.
I can’t seem to find anything on this repulsive person. Anyone have any insight?
