As some of you know, I help run this community and over time, some of the discussions here actually inspired us to build Classer, a desktop app to help manage action camera footage.
Recently we started experimenting with something new. A device you keep at home that automatically imports and sorts your footage after your adventures, especially for those of us using external hard drives.
We already have a working prototype, and we're now developing it into a real product.
I’d genuinely love to know what people here think:
Is the idea clear? How could we improve the website?
Hey r/actioncam, we’re excited to welcome a guest from Integral Memory, the team behind the SD cards and storage solutions trusted by creators, adventurers, and pros around the world. They’re here for an AMA, “Ask Me Anything”, about storage, corruption and keeping your footage safe.
WHAT’S AN AMA?
An AMA means “Ask Me Anything”, it’s a fun, open-style Q&A where you can post your questions (and even have a chance to win a prize!) while our guest drops in to answer them.
Our guest works directly on the design and testing of memory cards used in GoPros, DJI, Insta360 and other action cameras, and is here to answer your questions about:
Why SD cards sometimes fail or corrupt footage
How to choose the right card for your setup (V30 vs V60, UHS-I vs UHS-II, etc.)
How to format and maintain your cards properly
The truth about fake or unreliable cards on the market
Anything else you’ve always wanted to ask about storage!
They can’t discuss unreleased products or confidential manufacturing details, but otherwise, everything’s fair game, from tech myths to your worst “SD card full” stories.
TIMING
The AMA will start on the week of the 12th of Jan, an Integral Memory team member will be checking in over the next few days to answer your questions.
The AMA will stay open for a while so everyone across time zones has a chance to take part. Replies will come in periodically as they drop by to respond.
GIVEAWAY
To make things more fun, everyone who takes part in this AMA has a chance to win an Integral Momentum I microSD Card (512GB), a premium, high-speed card with 210 MB/s read and 180 MB/s write speeds, perfect for recording 4K or high-bitrate footage on your GoPro or drone.
🎁 5 winners will each receive a 512GB Momentum I microSD Card!

I am looking into buying an action camera. I have only started travelling last year but my iphone camera is not sufficient enough.
I want a camera I can use during activities like ziplining, bungee jumping, atv, sports, but can also use when not travelling to take photos of my family and daily life.
Please suggest one of these cameras and explain the difference to me.
Hi all! I have bought my first action camera and am trying to find the best settings for my activity. Sadly I do not know much about all of this, so any pointers or advice is appreciated.
The camera I bought is an apexcam M90. I figured it made for a decent (and not too expensive) starting camera. It has the following settings:
4k 60
4k 30
1080 120
1080 60
1080 30
Plus I have the option to enable EIS stabilisation. I am going on a horse riding trip this weekend, and sadly I don't have the chance to practise riding with the camera before that (still need to attach it to my helmet in a way it won't fall of...), so hence me trying to find the best settings theoretically.
It is an 2 hour ride, so I am leaning towards a resolution of 1080 simply for battery life (I already tested that 4k 60 fps gives me about an hour of footage). But a big part of the reason I want to record the ride is beautiful outside scenery. So do you think that 1080 is too little to capture the landscape? If so I might just have to sacrifice half of the ride.
Since horse riding tends to include a lot of movement and shaking I thought I'd then go for 120 fps too, but I've also seen people say this is only necessary for slow motion shots. Is it overkill to put it on 120 instead of 60 fps? As for the EIS, it looks like it gives a huge delay when I move the camera with it on, but I suppose that won't be a big deal during the activity, right? Or does no EIS give a more crisp result?
Thank you guys a lot for thinking along with me, I appreciate all of your knowledge and/or experiences :)
I am looking for a POV camera that I can strap on to my body. I have to use it for a number of things, but it has to be mounted on my shirt or on an apron, so not on a helmet or on a bike.
I am not going to be using it for bungeejump, swimming with sharks or -30 degrees Celcius, but mostly inside kitchens and lectures.
It is not a must-have, but the smaller the better. And it doesn't have to be able to record when filming.
I know that GoPro exists but I am looking for several options at this stage to find a camera that suits my needs.
I have been looking online, and stuff like Insta360 Go Ultra and DJI Osmo Nano has been recommended by the internet as best in test.
So, what advice do you want to share? Or even suggestions are welcome as well. Thanks in advance.
I’m looking to buy my first action camera and I have found two really good deals on the second-hand marketplace. I need help deciding which one is the better value and good quality.

Deal 2: GoPro HERO 13 Black (Special Bundle)

My Usage:
I'll be using it for vlogging, motovlogging, casual travel.
Had anyone experimented with using the waist mount for frontal shooting rather than from behind? Looking for options that look more natural without you always appearing to be holding an invisible stick.
I did try something different for side angle shooting where i held the stick in place behind my back by hooking it with my elbows and putting my hands in my pockets. I would post a pic of it but i don't know how to post pics in redit.
I was walking around Times Square in NYC and stopped by the Insta360 store just look around. Ended up walking out with an Ace Pro 2 lol.
I do a fair bit of cycling and traveling, so I figured I'd give it a try. Haven't really used an action cam before, though, so I'm pretty much starting from zero.
For those who use the Ace Pro 2, what settings do you usually shoot with? I don't want to overcomplicate things right off the bat. Also, are there any accessories you'd recommend getting early on?
I'm guessing an extra battery and a decent microSD card are the basics, but not sure if I'm missing anything obvious. Appreciate any advice!
I wasn't going to spend big money so I went with the Brave 7 LE from Akaso and I must say I'm surprised with all the features and accessories. Great buy for me for sure!
I am on a quest for a specific video, What of, exactly? Well my main thing is Scar from The Lion King and I would kindly like someone with a camera that is 1000fps or higher, to record their tv or pc playing a Scar scene, to whoever is reading this, PLEASE record this, thank you.
I am into many outdoor activities, mainly mountaineering, trail running, caving and sometimes scuba diving and paragliding. I want to take photos and videos, mainly for insta posting.
I need to buy an action camera, what do you recommend?
I have an accidental go pro, basically car ran over it. Both the display are fine, still charging and buttons are working. Want to know where I can get it fixed.
Model : Go pro hero 10
Location : Gurgaon (NCR)
