Hand painted paper collaged on wood, nails, sequins.

36” x 62”

Decided to repaint a painting I wasn’t happy with today. Ended up unhappy with that one too, so I folded the paper and stepped on it a few times. And then this revealed itself.

As a fan of both, Yu Polch decided to create video as a temporal installation, where Free Form Jazz Guitar meets physical Abstract Painting. - The Art Guitar Installation - Atmospheres. That is full one person production. Critics are welcome.

An abstract painting exploring the moment when we begin to recognize something within an ambiguous form.

I’m interested in how we find familiar shapes in lines, forms, and visual complexity and how what we recognize first might influence what we notice next.

Part of an ongoing art series called The Familiar.

I’d be curious to hear how others experience this piece. Does your perception of the image change as you spend more time with it?

Thanks to all who have been giving me support. Much love
