This is a large area in a valley surrounded by these large mountains with a limestone canyon running thru the middle.

Instead of jungle creatures, this forest has similar fauna to the redwoods.

Sorry for the long clip, I wanted to make sure I didn’t miss anything that might help fix this. Important context I think:

This save is two years old (or more)

Today is my first time playing this save (and the game as a whole really) since then so I have no idea what this tame could have been besides something big

The battle track has been playing every time I walk into this specific area on my little plot of land since opening the save and I cannot figure out why or if the two things are related

I likely used console commands the last time I played but I’m not sure if any of them caused this as I mostly just used hair and other cosmetic codes

I realized that the creature was there when I tried to harvest some wood and saw blood. I thought maybe it was a glitch or I was standing too close to my Rex but realized it was only in that one spot, and I could hear the grunting that the animal makes when you hit it. On a whim I tried clicking the mount button and it worked, but I still can’t see the creature at all. All I know is that it’s tamed, requires the player to ride on their knees, and it’s super tall. Thanks!

Hello! I am a solo ASA Official PVE player on the Island only. I’m a big fan of farming and was hoping to get my own Achatina/Beetle farm going. I have everything but Honey to make Vegetable cakes. But I was wondering how to go about taming these easily.

I’m using Legion Hosting for my server. This is the second time they’ve hacked into the server. We nuked the server the first time and I literally changed the passwords & server name on everything. Everyone deleted & redownloaded ark. All of the mods are ones I’ve used before or are highly recommended/popular. Login today and now our real life names are on signs in our base. I thought maybe it was one of my siblings playing a joke but we checked with them. I’m at my wits end. We put in a ticket for IT and they sent me this:

“We checked the connection IP addresses, player accounts and available panel activity for the incident. Only your recognised player accounts were recorded as connected, with no additional player account or unknown remote-admin connection identified.

Based on those records, the most likely explanation is someone acting through one of the accounts already playing with you, rather than an additional, unrecorded player. This could be someone in your group using their own character, or someone with access to that player's account or signed-in device. The logs cannot distinguish who was controlling the character.”

I don’t know what to do and at this point I’m thinking of using a different server. Anyone have advice or hosting recommendations?

I'm on ARK: SE. Day 94 on The Island. Giganotosaurus.

I think ark gods are contented to keep me from progressing. Look at them.

Beside Phoenix (which is not very rare anymore due to Astraeos having them now) and unicorn or lieuroplodon (something like that), I think that the lack of rare dinos in the game is sad.

Just imagine a white whale, with like a 24h respawn cooldown, or Idk, some kind of rare dragon or something.

The only rare things are high stats basically and I think it would have been nice to have something like that in the game.

Just a thought I wanted to share with you.

Great glitch if you want to get as many event colored gigas as you can lure away from the horde, terrible glitch if you need to farm black pearls or try to fight the king.

I was just thinking about playing Ark again, but been struggling to get back into it. I think about what made me like the game in the first place. I remember taming my first raptor, waiting around forever, just to have it die and try again a little later. You'd watch over your tames like a hawk because they took so long you didn't want it to be a waste of time, and kibble was an actual process. Mutton wasn't a reliable source of taming. Primes were arguably hard to get. I remember being stuck on stone tools for a long time because XP was slower, and getting metal tools/stone housing was an accomplishment.

Fast forward to now, where there's almost no point in building a thatch structure starting out, XP is so fast might as well just throw down some foundations until you get metal tools from killing things, then just grind out what you need. If you want to tame something, you just knock it out and come back to it in 10-20 minutes with primes which are even more abundant with babies all over. The kibble process is sooo much easier, but it was kind of nice having a reason to tame things you'd otherwise never find a reason to tame.

I realize I've gotten a lot better at the game, but the game has gotten so much easier. Every little DLC has drifted further and further from the base game, sometimes for better and some for worse. We breached the dino part with Scorched, the very first DLC, but it didn't feel out of hand. Aberration pushed the limits a little bit, then Extinction/Genesis started to take off. Tek is out of hand, cosmetic mods are fun but definitely make it feel like a whole new game, and base rates for everything just feel so... easy.

I'm no stranger to the benefits a lot of these updates have brought. I remember a world with no cryopods and where your friends only got on during 2x weekends.... but the sad fact is, now my friends don't get on at all. We try to play maybe once a year or so, tame and try a bunch of new things, then back at the same point we always get to: games too easy and there's nothing to do.

Call me weird, but I miss the slow level grind (yes, I know you can change rates in Single Player). My favorite part of new maps is everyone starting at the same start line. I wish they'd release a version of the game that was more primitive and slow. Maybe not 1-2 weeks to raise a baby or a whole day to incubate an egg slow, but not gain 20 levels from killing an alpha raptor speed. I miss the feeling of Aberration, where everyone had to adjust to a no flyer map, and wasn't entirely sure what to do. I think new maps should be a little more isolated from the others. It's nice being able to contribute to an official servers economy when transfers are disabled, before you can't sell anything because people will just pay real money to buy everything they want off a dc shop.

This is definitely just a rant tons of people have done before, and has little structure to it, but what thoughts do you guys have? Am I a minority figure in this situation? Do you miss the feeling of playing on an old Island before many other maps came out? What could they do to bring back that primitive, survival feel?

I think most people have probably seen the new genesis pirate towns. looking closer at the “people” shows them looking shit, but I think there might be a lore reason for this

other places in the simulation have glitches, I think these are kinda glitches and kinda people.
To fully explain this I need to explain another theory I have

It is known that the people in the simulation are bodies out of the simulation. But what about the creatures in the simulation though. Maybe the creatures in gen 1 are simulated duplicates of the creatures in gen 2. Any discrepancies between gen 1 & 2 animals are unlinked or entirely ai creatures.

This links to the genesis still life’s pretty clearly once you think about what is known about them. (Still life is in reference to the backrooms not actual art)
•still life’s look weird as fuck
•they have various levels of conscience and function (some actively move and walk while some sit still)
•they rarely interact with people

I think these are people in the simulation who were corrupted by Rockwell and have been saved doing their last action or functioning fully. But as Rockwell fucked shit up the uncorrupted master controller and other ai systems were slowly eaten away along with other parts of the simulation. In order to free up bandwidth for vital functions they started removing functions of the still surviving survivors and restoring systems

As still life’s piled up around all zones the main ai’s expanded the ocean to the ascended size and compensated by removing there codex’s and building structures for them eventually the master controller set up a system to automatically remove the codex and transfer still life’s

That is what I think these are and my current theory

The game is incredible in its premise. That said, the split screen co-op could really use some love.

Folders are unmarked.

Constant crashes.

Can't look up/use the menu when another character is.

FPS tanks when a player is in the menu.

Can't search without stopping the other player from playing.

Save file constantly breaks.

No UI scaling, have to sit right in front of a huge TV.

Have to drag stacks, can't just click to move.

I know the game isn't made with this method of play in mind, but its really disappointing that the split screen console version was ever released in this state, much less that it hasn't been patched. There's a handful of items above that would make the game so much more manageable, but it appears there's zero attention given to this version of the game.

Here is my idea for a possible Carno TLC.

MODEL: A newer model and textures, matching the new graphics. Even small changes to the model result in significant pattern changes.

WILD: It now appears in groups of two animals. It is a very territorial animal. Everything up to its own size is its target.

ABILITIES: A typical bite attack, a headbutt attack that produces high knockback and strong bleeding. A 180-degree turn (which can be used to perform quick evasion maneuvers). Similar to the Therizinosaurus, it can be leveled individually. Its horns change depending on what you level (more raw damage or more bleed damage).

i made this post a few weeks ago before i deleted the game but now i wanna try again.

I was transfering between maps as usual then my game crashed on the obelisk menu,when i returned to the game none of the maps i have ever played showed my character. Its just a 'Make a new character',from what i see its mainly over for that character. I would make a new character but i had so many resources and dinos waiting,what can i do about this?
