how scratches a lot of itches for me: a little colony management, tactical combat with party-based RPG elements, and plenty of freedom to create a faction with its own identity.
But that freedom also makes me want to go further. The more personality I give my faction, the more I notice the places where its appearance is still limited to fairly generic assets.
For starters, I’d love finer control over the appearance of our rulers and their people facial features, proportions, hairstyles, clothing, and more ways to make a race feel distinctly ours. The existing customization is a huge part of the appeal for me, so naturally, I want more of it.
And I would love, love, love to see our cities at a more intimate level. More control over their architecture, decoration, and overall atmosphere would go a long way toward making them feel like places inhabited by the people we’ve imagined.
I know that edges beyond what some players consider the game’s core focus. But my reasoning is that we spend hours upon hours with these factions. We develop attachments to our rulers, their people, and the civilizations we’re building. It makes sense to want that investment reflected in what we actually see.
the more freedom a game gives me to imagine a faction, the more I want its visuals to support that imagination.**There’s something really satisfying about looking at your ruler, your armies, and your cities and seeing a coherent identity that you helped shape.
What about you? Where would you most like to see more visual customizationrulers, racial appearance, units, cities, or something else entirely?
