Discussion No more boomer-esque posts - a rant
Been noticing posts lately that will have something about 90s life (or pre-90s, but still applicable to us) and using it as an excuse to talk about how much better we are than “kids today”
These posts are feeling like our generation turning into boomers, and using Reddit as their own Facebook. Most of them, I’m sure, are bots or karma farmers, so all the more reason to discourage them.
I love the nostalgia of this sub, and it’s a warm feeling seeing someone post a show or toy or activity that has been discontinued or is very niche, but we don’t need to put down the later generations to achieve it. We grew up hearing how we, as millenials, were destroying industry after industry. We don’t need to pass it on

Photo Can we talk about how an entire generation collectively lost their minds over Titanic (1997)?
Let's be real: we all cried when the band kept playing, we all argued about whether Jack could fit on that floating door with Rose, and Céline Dion's "My Heart Will Go On" was completely inescapable on every radio station for two straight years

Discussion "Deep Impact" versus "Armageddon" - which of these similarly themed disaster movies from 1998 do you prefer?
For me Deep Impact is the clear winner. By Hollywood standards there was a reasonable attempt at scientific accuracy, and the dramatic moments felt earned. Armageddon was just typical Michael Bay disaster porn, and the science was laughable. Plus, it inflicted on the world that overplayed Aerosmith song "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" - their last big hit, which is a pity.

My mom and dad and me before my sister was born and before my mom left him over the booger sugar even though he was a master electrician. She said no thanks buckaroo. He was the coolest though ❤️
