I have the regular 10 22, can I buy a charger barrel and install it? Or are the barrels different? Are they all compatible? I want to buy a shorter barrel and put it into a chassis system.

Just ordered a new 10/22 and I’m waiting on a new takedown chassis, but the new 10/22s come with a BX trigger. Am I good, or do I need to find an older rifle?

Hey everyone!
I have the Archangel stock, a Pike Arms bull barrel, an Amazon mag release, and the upgraded Ruger trigger. Added a Vortex Rimfire scope.
The stock is chunky, but I do like it. I typically shoot suppressed with an RXD22Ti.
I just got my first ever Ruger 10/22 rifle w/ MOE X22 and so I'm excited about that for starters, and I picked up a cheap TruGlo red dot site for it just to have something to throw on there for the range.
This fall I'm wanting to try my hand at small game hunting. Which I've never done any kind of hunting other than fishing. Realistically, what kind of accurate range could I expect to get out of this gun for small game hunting?
Are there any scopes under $200 that will help me out with hitting those squirrels? I've been doing some research and it seems that parallax is a big issue I need to look out for? I know at my price range I'm going to have to deal with some trade-offs no matter what, but I like to think I'm pretty adaptable, and plan to invest in a big boy scope maybe next year.
I haven't utilized a scope before either, I typically just have fun at the range with my Glock19 so this will be a big learning process.
Currently I'm looking at either a Thompson Center Multi-X 3-9X40 MM Riflescope if I want to be as cheap as possible, or a Vortex Triumph HD 3-9x40 Second Focal Plane since its sitting at around $100.
Any noobie advice would be appreciated as well!

I reached out to Samson as I have been waiting ti purchase a B-TM folding stock for nearly a year now and was told.
“All Production A-TM and B-TM Stocks are being sent directly to Ruger.
Per our Agreement with Ruger we are not able to sell any stocks or components.”
Soooo….sounds like we are SOL? Cause I can’t find it on the Ruger site either.

Heres a pic for example(not mine obviously), although I’m not sure I want to tuck my can. Possibly, but I know that will require a lot more work milling out the wood stock on the inside. What should I know about doing this? Is it as easy as removing factory barrel, cutting the front short, and adding in an 8” barrel? do you recommend Carbon fiber for the function or is it just for the vibes?
Thanks!!!

I will be buying scopes hopefully this weekend. Reason? I have both a 10/22 and a PCC (both Ruger); where I shoot I am not allowed to shoot any kind of rifle less than a 100-yards.
I took them out shooting once not knowing this with iron sights and I could not make out the holes and switching off to binoculars sucks.
So scope it is. But I am new to rifles and scopes.
I have the rail that came with both rifles already mounted on the guns.
But what about everything else?
I am planning to go with the more affordable Vortex models.
I believe I need mounting rings.
But what else do I need and need to know to mount it?
I was watching a few videos talking about getting a rifle holder, leveling it,and etc.
Is it really that involved?

So I got the top one about a year ago brand new for $100 I forget what model it was. I ended up ordering a Mars Triggers FRT for it to make it a super fun range toy. Then I got that Magpul stock for it and stupid cheap scope from Amazon and now I love it how it is lol.
6 months later the FRT finally came in so I said screw it and went and got another 1022 for it since I wanted one with a threaded barrel. Ended up struggling through installing the trigger into the new one only to find the newest 1022 had the BX trigger (thanks to this sub) and the FRT only works with the OEM trigger assembly. So turns out I wasn’t being ridiculous buying a second gun because the original had the OEM trigger.
So now the top is set up with the BX trigger which really is super nice. The bottom has a Mars trigger FRT and all three guys at the store were bitching that FRTs just destroy the gun yada yada. So just to piss them off a bit more I got the notorious Archangel kit for it and the cheapest red dot I had and slapped it all together.
It is monstrous and disrespectful to the fabled and legendary Ruger 10 22… but I love it so much lmfao. Going to the range today to see if it actually works and couldn’t be more excited.
Update: took it to the range this morning and it ran like a dream!! Most fun you can have with your pants on! Initially had some issues, I was running CCI Mini Mag ammo which I thought would help with cycling but then switched to CCI Stinger and that got it to run perfectly. Definitely need some hot rounds but couldn’t be happier!!
Picked up my first 4473’ed can on Friday. Took 15 minutes. I didn’t have a .22LR can yet, so I picked up a Dead Air 22TI for my son’s 10/22.
This thing was already a blast to run. With it being carbon fiber, I think some of my 2011s are heavier than this rifle. Even with the can, it’s still light enough for him to shoot. I don’t know who is going to have more fun with it, him or me.

Anybody have any idea how to fix this. From my research I looked into how sometimes action screws hit the barrel but i see no marks on the barrel from the action screw.
I bought this brand new back in 1993, maybe early 1994. I had a scope on it, but that scope is now on my Diana 34. I've always kept the barrel clean using the cable to pull the brush and patch up through the chamber and out the barrel top. I did the first "deep clean" ever today, boy-oh-boy, was a nasty mess it was in. But it's clean now and slides like new. I think I'm going to start shooting it again (it's been years) and I'm looking for suggestions as to what optics, rings (if necessary) and rail. It has a rail on it, but I'm thinking I should replace it with a picatinny rail. Any suggestion for optics? I'm thinking Red Dot, but I've never had a Red Dot before. Don't want to spend a ton of money, hoping to keep it at $100 give/take

There are fewer working gunsmiths that will do machine work to accurize factory rifles. Most rely on purchasing aftermarket brands to try and improve accuracy with mixed results. Shops like CPC and Que have fallen off recently and left few to carry on the art. I have noticed that Clark Custom Guns is still offering services and Trivette's is offering some of the essential accurizing services like bolt modifications, and match chambering/barrel setback services. I am not trying to sell anyone on these shops or run afoul of the Reddit terms but a sticky note list of these shops would be great for the sub.

Hello, with all the nfa changes recently I have been looking into getting a threaded barrel and suppressor for my 10/22 and was wondering if yall had any middle-of-the-road options.
I was looking at a ruger barrel but Im seeing QC issues in the reviews and I dont shoot my 10/22 seriously enough to justify a Kidd barrel. If yall have any ideas they are appreciated!

Not an ideal backpack gun, but it definitely fits well enough to hike to the shooting range and back without looking too suspicious. It really likes Remington Standard Velocity, and it is Hollywood movie quiet and super fun to shoot. My current favorite right now (just don’t tell the others).
This is the final form of my BassPro 10/22 deal. It has a High Tower Armory bull-pup chassis, an 8” barrel, a Dead Air Mask suppressor, and a cheap open reticle red dot.
