People were right, the gap between regions is closing.
The gap between NA and Brazil.
4
u/Imabuffguy95 7h ago
Most NA thing ever would be for C9 to be eliminated first out of all teams at Worlds and Lyon/TL win Worlds so they are both the strongest and weakest region and counter all logic. /cope
2
u/Individual_Peace1227 7h ago
I do think in the end that Lyon and TL will do well but my god Cloud9 was depressing to watch.
3
6
u/tomorrowdog 7h ago
The upside to all this is we'll have more lopsided stats (more LEC teams in main stage with more potential for lost games) for manipulated narratives.
8
u/Sarazam 7h ago edited 7h ago
Was Caedrel focusing his flame on Tactical or another streamer? Bc the Reddit thread seems to be going all in on Tactical who was definitely not the problem this series. Game 3+4 they put him on weak side picks specifically so they could leave him alone and make plays on other side of the map, then just didn’t make any plays.
Obviously he wasn’t playing insanely well, but if you put a top 3 ADC in these games C9 still loses.
1
u/RukiMotomiya 7h ago
I didn't watch Caedrel, I just thought Tactical was playing well. He kept getting caught out with poor positioning. But there's a lot of blame to go around.
5
u/JaKo_JoKo_JuKi ナイスゲーム? 7h ago
I see just about as much criticism for Blaber + the solo laners.
That said, I wouldn't say they put Tactical weakside g3 and g4 at all, it was the opposite if anything looking at where Blaber started/pathed in both games.
3
u/Ajp_iii 7h ago
no he wasnt but he was ass. he was invisible every game got caught numerous times leading to massive advantages. he was like 0/3/0 on that cait game. he missed every ziggs ult on ccd targets the whole play ins.
also alot of people already hate tactical so they just use it to confirm their biases. imo thanatos played the worst as his lane matchup is by far the easiest. guigo cant even play carries or anything and thanatos did nothing.
10
u/Skyfire2 7h ago
All C9 fans are welcome to hop on the bandwagon and support a proven Worlds performer like GenG who will definitely not massively shit the bed in a couple of weeks time
3
u/Eleven_Box 7h ago
Is there a pickems tracker this year that shos number of champions picked and kdas etc?
7
u/Ajp_iii 7h ago
its so disgusting they basically lost 3 games not winning a single teamfight. even with gold leads and everything. just players so scared of making mistakes they all play way too passive.
its why its so cringe when people try to hate on inspired and his teams for being toxic. when c9 environment is the exact opposite of this and these are the performances that happen when under pressure.
3
u/sajm0n 7h ago
music is kinda nice this Worlds though
2
u/Hawkson2020 6h ago
Playing “The Curse of the Sad Mummy” right before C9’s final game only to have someone higher up just turn the music off for ~40s of silence into game 4 was an incredible tribute to C9, shout out to the audio guy.
5
u/jolleyjg 7h ago
Jatt having to go back to 2020 for Blaber accolades kinda says it all for why c9 is where they are right now.
3
u/skywalker-in 7h ago
Who tf is supporting C9 bro? like genuinely how do you deserve support? you are so fucking dogshit, have some shame
5
10
u/british_pubs Swimin' with the fishies 7h ago
Aw man I was rooting against them but I feel so bad for the c9 guys, the amount of shit they're gonna get will not be fun
3
u/Quiet_Education5918 7h ago
I mean, it's rough, but the part that sucks isn't the trash talk, it's the truth of getting their asses handed to them. They need to face facts at this point, you can't just brush it off.
7
u/sajm0n 7h ago
i disagree with Blaber. C9 played like they normally do lol
sorry, im gonna stop now.
4
u/Rawdream 5h ago
Yep. C9 lost with their playstyle
and they managed to get 1 win with that same playstyle.

This is exactly why the NA region is dying. Shit is such a joke to watch.

u/curious-alt27 7h ago edited 7h ago
Almost 3-0’d KC, hands diffed FUR and played scared for 4 games in a row.
Tactical int was EVERY single game. Ziggs to send them home every time was insane.
1
u/Rawdream 5h ago
C9 even if they have a champion ahead,
they play slow the mid and late game. They did that Vs KC, too.
JG was fed in Set 2 and they didn't do anything with it.
Mid was ahead in Set 4 and the same.
They won Set 1 by needing Baron and Elder buffs to close it.
5
u/Ajp_iii 8h ago
i dont know how you can be so good and so mechanically good and have such weak mental. its wild. like as soon as one thing goes bad the whole game booms. and as has been shown by draft they try to make sure they are ahead in the game. if they are ever behind they just run it down.
they were literally only 1k behind and then would instantly run it down
7
u/2020isgreat TheShy 8h ago
People blaming coaches but the stuff you can prep for they didn't play bad they're just dirty chokers
2
u/Rawdream 5h ago
Not a choke, if you're losing with the same way you always play.
In wins and losses Vs KC, C9 played like that, too. Same macro, same slow closure, if they're ahead.

u/Labor101 7h ago
I do agree with you, but it genuinely just feels like coaching malpractice to look at all of the issues with this roster rn and not at least TRY to field APA or even Zven
3
u/Ajp_iii 7h ago
the issue is that they were improving in regular season and playoffs. and then choked against lyon.
when would you have changed a player. also their first 3 games vs kc were goodish.
its not like loki and tactical were running it down during the regular season.
2
u/Labor101 7h ago
Before these two series, I don't think there was a point I would suggest fielding Zven over Tactical; he was at least pretty consistent in his role. There have been a few times where Loki has been shaky or underperformed that I think putting in APA as a means to lead the team and sacrifice a bit of some micro play would've benefited them.
It just seems pointless to me for them to tout their 7 man roster and then never actually do anything with it. Tactical was a pretty clear upgrade over Zven, fair, but APA and Loki bring different things to the team and to never have even considered APA while the team is directionless in a series like today just seems foolish to me

9
u/sajm0n 8h ago
it looks like disband angle ngl
theres not much worse that could have happened to this team, except for not making to Worlds
well, when you think about it, maybe they wish they didnt make it lol
5
u/LumiRhino 7h ago
Unironically top 8 at Demacia cup would've felt better than this.
2
u/Ajp_iii 7h ago
flyquest right now are feeling happy and their players were able to show good things they also got to go to china. c9 stayed in la and did that. the only positive c9 had was playing in the full arena in atlanta for finals weekend.
2
u/fuckyouguys4real 7h ago
brother how do you 450 comments about league of legends in 3 days. that's crazy.
4
u/Labor101 7h ago
It would've been better if they didn't make worlds. That was already the expectation for them. The fact that they made it here and put on this performance and were the FIRST TEAM out reflects so much worse on them and the region
2
u/Ajp_iii 7h ago
going to worlds blows up teams faster than not going to worlds. not going to worlds you can claim unlucky. going to worlds and choking shows you dont have it
1
u/Rawdream 5h ago
C9 didn't choke.
Similar performance and playstyle in wins and losses.
KC & FUR were better, in the end.
3
4
u/jolleyjg 8h ago
Haven’t been this upset with C9 since I saw fudge running it down top lane last time worlds was in the US
15
u/12FrogsDrinkingSoup 8h ago
And with that almost half of all North American players attending Worlds are out lol
7
u/Zelgiusbotdotexe Yeon is NA goat I swear 8h ago
I think EU has more NA players left than NA does. I think it's just Yeon, vs Busio and Jojopyun
If you dont count CoreJJ as a Citizen, which I do but I understand why people wouldnt
Edit: forgot Dhokla, for some reason I had Srtty in my head for Lyon
Its 2 to 2
1
u/AndlenaRaines Peter Zhang HAH 7h ago
Dumb question but I’m out of the loop. Is CoreJJ an American citizen now or does he just have his green card?
1
u/Zelgiusbotdotexe Yeon is NA goat I swear 7h ago
I just googled it and apparently he isnt. I could've swore he was. Im surprised.
He has still definitely said he plans to live her permanently though, and its been enough time that that's enough for me at least.
1
u/Zelgiusbotdotexe Yeon is NA goat I swear 7h ago
I'm pretty sure CoreJJ is, I know Huhi is, but I think Core is as well. He owns a home and lives with his wife here, so he's pretty settled

Actually unreal C9 is the worst team at worlds considering just how good NA was this year domestically.
I just want people to understand, it wasn't a hot take to say NA top 3 looked actually comparable or better to LCK's top 3.
I think the entire team needs to be blown up, clearly none of the players on C9 can handle pressure at all. That's part of playing professionally & what they're overpaid for.
2
u/skywalker-in 7h ago
Ummm no one ever said LCS top 3 looked comparable to LCK top 3. The point of contention was that maybe just maybe, one of the LCS top 3 might make it past an eastern team and MAYBE make semi's. They were never comparable. They just had a chance, a fluke, to make it past 1 eastern team. That was it.

u/Ajp_iii 8h ago
furia isnt even good. they were complete ass at msi. they couldnt even win a single game vs lyon who were first timing syndra who had people actively running it down.
this is embarrassing af from c9. and im usually a massive c9 defender. they need to blow the whole team up and invest in actual new players. you cant be discoordinated from people you have played with for years.
1
u/skywalker-in 8h ago
Disband LCS man, can't wait for Riot to pull the plug on this shit region so none of these bums have a job. It is pathetic that these frauds get paid.

u/FBG_Ikaros 8h ago
NA fans are praying that their claim that all NA teams are at the same level is wrong.
3
u/kazuyaminegishi 8h ago
Has anyone been making the claim that C9 is the same tier as TL and Lyon?
You guys get one guy'd soooo hard on here lol. I think 80% of comments I've seen like this are people who saw a comment from someone totally delusional once and just kept that in their heart for weeks.
1
u/Ajp_iii 7h ago
we say strongest and they think we are saying c9 should beat lck teams. the point was that na 3 is normally straight trash and looks awful in game and can never contest the top teams.
2
u/kazuyaminegishi 7h ago
Yep, it's either that or people posting fucking 1 game Andy's like they are serious people.
It really never ceases to amaze me how aggressively this sub works to remove any nuance from any discussion so they can vague post about it in 3 weeks.
I think among the people around here that watch NA consistently and post in the live discussion threads every week, we have all been saying C9 is a step behind, they have the same problems, and they have the highest likelihood to choke at Worlds. But they COULD do some damage if the coin flipped correctly.
I know for a fact that I've been saying all yesr that CBLOL's results against LCS have definitely been real cause the regions aren't THAT different below top 2 especially when the meta is so skirmish heavy. Top teams differentiate themselves with great macro and decision making.
Below Lyon all of NA has macro on par with minor regions and minor region hands might be better.

u/beges1223 8h ago
Imagine hiring IWD as a coach and expect to win anything lmao
6
u/Dogshitaccount 8h ago
Least of their problems, the prep and early game seems fine. They just become the most useless bums after 15 mins. No balls and no clutch factor
2
u/beges1223 8h ago
Add that to them having a fraud as a coach and you got the icing of the shit cake.
8
u/Zelgiusbotdotexe Yeon is NA goat I swear 8h ago
How do you go from nearly 3-0ing KC and having to throw 50 times to lose that series, and then go 1-3 vs Brazil
C9 never fails to make me hate them.
8
u/PLEASE_PM_YOUR_SMILE 8h ago
Because KC is full of chokers and didnt start playing human until later in the series. C9 were terrible even in wins except G1.
3
u/Zelgiusbotdotexe Yeon is NA goat I swear 8h ago
Yeah, I was surprised at KC's level. They are so much betterband should've had a lot less of an issue with C9 then they did. Yike looked like the worst jungler in playins.

3
u/Quiet_Education5918 8h ago
Step one: Lose one game.
Step two: Give up on life.
It worked for them in Summer Playoffs, it works here.

Throwing the game for Jax, and they couldn't kill him and the whole team died too!
9
u/blueragemage 8h ago
They can't even swim home, at this point is it just walk home? Car is cancelled?
4
u/Quiet_Education5918 8h ago
Nope. They are getting on an airplane and being sent to the fucking gulag.

Vulcan not even pretending to not be pissed as hell lmaoooo
3
u/jolleyjg 8h ago
Vulcan has said that he doesn’t grind the game that hard bc he doesn’t want to burn out. He has a coasting mindset and the results reflect that.
3
4
u/Ecstatic-Cookie-3706 8h ago
I actually hate watching C9 so much. I really hope this org leaves the LCS.
2
u/malakesxasame 8h ago
Tactical horrible obviously, but useless choking solo lanes afk as per usual. Send them back to LCK CL.
2
1
u/Sarazam 8h ago
Tactical has some problems, but he is not the root of C9's problem. He may cause them to lose a game that lasted to 35 minutes, but Thanatos and sometimes Loki are the reason the game even went that long. Thanatos is just awful outside of lane, Loki is good on assassins, but has no idea how to play mages. Neither understand team fights so C9 just can never extend their lead.
3
u/Overshadowedone 8h ago
Time to blow up the C9. Start from scratch. Rebuild. Nothing is salvageable here.
1
u/Labor101 8h ago
I think Vulcan is pretty solid in his position but every single other player can go
7
6
u/Ajp_iii 8h ago
THE ONLY GAME THEY WON WAS A STOMP THAT TOOK THEM 40 PLUS MINUTES TO WIN. AND FURIA WERE INTING INTO THEM.
wtf are these players even doing. i dont know how your confidence is so low that you lose a random game and just completely crash out. also all of c9 gotta be the worst teamfighters in the league.
5
u/krazsen LOLTYLER1.COMDISCOUNTCODEALPHA 8h ago
I don't even watch LCS anymore, glad to see I'm not missing anything of value

Dhokla haters don't understand why Dhokla is so valued, and this is why. Thanatos can win lane but has zero game sense outside of lane. Thanatos has no idea how to play from behind. At least Dhokla always has the potential clutch factor to turn a bad game around
2

3

Thanatos isn't even good in lane either. He's serviceable and not going to absolutely int the lane in general really. But he's just not very good.
