Best pool room, billiards bar, or hole in the wall with an established pool culture?

Are there any well established pool table venues in Nashville? I like big pool halls with nine foot or ten foot tables. I also like dive bars with one table where you have to write your name on the chalk board and play the winner. Any place with an established culture where you see a lot of folks bringing their own cues, that's my jam.

How is public transit in Nashville

I’m going to be visiting Nashville for the first time this weekend for work and want to know what public transit is like.

For context: I live in Seattle and am very familiar and comfortable with public transit and have taken it all over the country. Most posting to ask locals if taking the bus is generally safe or if it’s avoided.

Im staying near the Opry and am planning to bus across town to around The Parthenon for dinner which seems to be routes 34 and 50 to get there.

Look forward to visiting your city!!!!

Edit: thanks everyone for the feedback. I’ve opted to use your fine cities busses tomorrow evening getting to dinner

Less than 48 hours in town

Hey all - I’m coming to town next weekend (10/30-11/1) and simply just want to eat and shop while im staying downtown. I’m overwhelmed with the food options because I don’t like doing tourist traps and love a local shop.
Any recs I can hit up? Favorite BBQ?

0 dietary restrictions, lover of all food types.

Get ready, Ima coming to the Nash...

...AGAIN!!! My favorite place on Earth! Coming from Friday 11/20 until Tues 11/24. Thinking about taking in the Predator's/ Penguin's game on Sat 11/21 @ 5pm. Figure it'll end around 8 - 8:30pm, then into the thick of things on Broadway!

Staying at the Indigo on Union. Other than Friday daytime & Saturday after the game, I'll be off of Broadway. Also planning on spending most of my time on 2nd Ave & Printer's Alley. May venture west to The Duck Blind, Loser's, and The Stillery in Midtown. Slim chance I'll head further west to The Local. I've yet to "hang out" down there. I hear it's a bit cheaper than Broadway.

I'll probably pass on Music Valley on this trip, my 7th, since I'm not doing the Opry this time around.

Anything I'm missing, any other 'hot' spots, where I can mingle and make new "friends?"

Bike rentals ?

I will be in Nashville over the weekend and looking to rent a bike. Road or flat bar, preferably not an e-bike. Do any shops offer this? Google search did not hit on any good leads.

Planning a Bachelor Party in Nashville

Hey everyone!

We’re planning a bachelor party in Nashville for a group of 5 guys and are looking for recommendations from locals or people who’ve done a bachelor party there recently.

We want to have a really fun weekend with a mix of nightlife, drinking, good food, and some wild bachelor-party vibes without wasting money on tourist traps.

A few things we’re trying to figure out:

Where to stay: Is getting an Airbnb worth it for a group of 5? Any areas we should look at or avoid?

Nightlife: Which bars, clubs, or areas are best for a bachelor party?

Entertainment: Any recommendations for legitimate, professional entertainers who do private bachelor-party bookings at an Airbnb or private rental? How does pricing and booking usually work?

Activities: Anything fun or unique besides just bar-hopping?
Budget: What’s a realistic total cost per person for a weekend, including accommodation, activities, nightlife, and transportation?

We’re open to suggestions and would especially appreciate firsthand experiences, hidden gems, and things you’d do differently if you planned your own bachelor party again.

Thanks in advance! 🍻

Drink prices at the Truth venue

Planning ahead for sticker shock. I've read someone paid $50 for 2 beers and $25 for a seltzer. As insane as that is, are these 24oz cans or are they 12oz cans?? How much would a double vodka seltzer be? A simple diet coke or water? Thanks in advance for any info!

22M going solo for Halloween Bar Crawl. Need help!

Hey y'all! I'm a 22M Korean from Clarksville, and I'm thinking about heading down to Nashville for Halloween weekend (30~31st).

I've never really checked out the nightlife there, so I figured Halloween would be a pretty fun time to start🔥. Planning on hitting some bars via the Nashville Halloween bar crawl, maybe a club or two, and just seeing where the night goes.

Only problem is I'd be going solo, and wandering around Nashville dressed up for Halloween without knowing anyone sounds a little awkward lmao. I'm cool with going solo, but figured it'd be way more fun to meet some people along the way :) !!

So I figured I'd ask here! Anyone else going out that weekend? Would be cool to meet some new people, whether you're going solo too or have a group that wouldn't mind one more tagging along.

Also, if anyone has recommendations for good bars, clubs, or things to do on Haloween @ Nashville, I'm all ears!

What are the chances I’m able to get into a bar in the midtown area with a picture of my ID? Is it even worth trying?

Dream vs JW Thursday-Saturday

I'm coming into town for the Smashing Pumpkins show at The Truth Thursday with my wife.

I have a decision to make on hotels and want some opinions.

I have two hotels booked right now - The JW and the Dream, each with two one night stays to keep options open.

I am Marriott Lifetime Platinum so usually get decent upgrades, early check in and late checkout at JW. I would get free breakfast and lounge access Thursday night to Friday night at the JW.

Both hotels are booked on points - 109k/night Marriott points vs 20K/night Hyatt points.

I have been to Nashville and like all music. My wife has never been and hates country music but I think she would appreciate Printer's Alley.

I am considering splitting up my stay and having one night at each hotel - any suggestions why not to do that other than the hassle?

I searched this group and didn’t see anything. I’ll be solo traveling to Nashville for work.

How hard is it to get ride share to and from grand ole opry from downtown? Is there a better way?

Live music help for wed - fri night this week

Hi All! I (45F) will be visiting for the first time later this week from Boston with two of my college best friends. We are hoping to get some recommendations for live music. We tried to get tix to Bluebird for thurs or friday night but were unsuccessful. We'll be there wed - sat and have tix to a show on wednesday but we would love recs for wed late night or anytime on thurs or fri. I just saw Johnny Blue Skies and the Dark Clouds the other night and absolutely lost my mind. So, I'd love something in that style. I tried to reach out to Laur Joaments on IG but...he didn't respond. Lol. Hoping some locals can point us in the right direction. Everything I've seen online seems to be geared towards bachelorettes (which is all good but I'm hoping for something where three 45yo moms who love live music will fit in!). Thanks so much!!!

Drury or Hilton Garden

I posted previously about recommendations for downtown hotels. I think I’ve narrowed it down to Hilton Garden Inn would be about $870 for 4 nights or Drury hotel which would be $912 with taxes. Originally we were thinking the cheapest route but for 50 bucks more is the free breakfast and kickback worth it? I would love some feedback before we book thank you!

Nashville, TN

Howdy all,

I am visiting Nashville from Australia from 25th Nov - 30th Nov.

I know that the 26th is thanksgiving, does anyone have any recommendations for a place to go and have a thanksgiving lunch? I am on my own so being around other people would be nice also.

Also, if you have any other “must do’s” for early 30’s guy visiting alone to do or see in that time it would be appreciated.

Cheers!

Nashville bands

So I visited Nashville last week from the UK and absolutely fell in love with the place. While I’m back home I’d love to listen to some of the bands on Broadway and listen to their music and cover songs. Where’s the best place to find them? Tried YouTube and all but can’t really seem to find anything. Ideally I’d love to have like a playlist of all the covers I’ve heard during my stay
