FAVORITE VINYL SHOPS around the WORLD
If you have a favorite shop in your hometown, or one you've visited and would like to share the goodness, please add it to the sheet below. I'll jump in and alphabetize it on occasion, but feel free to do so if you are familiar with this function in Google Sheets.
Let me know if we need additional columns. I did a basic Country/State/City, but know some areas use Provence, or other breakouts. Want this to be useful for everyone. Thanks to u/2Dprinter for the idea! I hope we get a great list going.

Sonny Clark — Leapin’ And Lopin’ (1981 Blue Note Japan 🐊)
The entire record is incredible but especially the side 2 closer, “Midnight Mambo” — plus Ike Quebec guesting on multiple tracks. Highly recommended session!!

Help Identifying This Copy of Kind of Blue
I found this copy of Kind of Blue in my grandmother’s basement. I’ve done some research, but can’t tell if it’s an original pressing. The matrix numbers are:
Side One: XLP47324-1AC
Side Two: XLP47325-1AA

Now Playing - David Amram 'Latin Jazz Celebrationx
The session opens with “En Memoria de Chano Pozo,” the standout track of the album, dedicated to the most famous conguero of them all.
Some strong Latin jazz on Side A, Side B is a bit weak in comparison.
Great line up - Candido gets featured on a couple of tracks, though a bit of a shame that Machito is reduced to just playing clave.

First Spin Of The Day Jimmy Smith - Live at Hermosa Beach
I went down a path of Hammond Organ Jazz artists… Jimmy started it for me and 9 CDs and 27 LPs later… still loving Jimmy!!!
And still loving The Hammond… Big John Patton, The Mighty Burner Charles Earland, Don Patterson, Larry Young (aka Lawrence of Newark), Don Wilkerson, Don Patterson, Brother Jack McDuff… and some very fine work by more recent artists whom I can’t find thier LP!!! Shame on me.
I gave a photo that should been added to this post, of the LP I took this morning. Can’t find a way to edit and add it…. Anyway, enjoy your day!

Deep People (1968, reissue from 1955)
As if the four mentioned aren’t enough, there are 3 tracks with Art Pepper (in fine form), as well as both Bobs (Cooper and Gordon). Side 1 collects the earlier 1952 Shelley Manne Septet 10”, with side 2 doing the same with Bill Russo Orchestra’s “A Recital In New American Music” 10” from the same year. There’s plenty of these kicking around on vinyl, more of a historical curiosity than anything, with 2 tracks SUNG by Shelley, and an orchestral jazz version of the Hungarian Suicide Song, “Gloomy Sunday”. Both bands are punching though, and pre-jail Pepper is in top form.

Great thing about Jazz records
Is that whenever I'm at record fairs and flea markets, the Jazz section is never busy compared to other Genres. Most always hang around the Rock/Metal crates when digging. It makes it bearable when digging through crates.
Not sure if this is just localised to where I live or do you guys experience this too?

First Spin Of The Day Cannonball Adderley - The Black Messiah
I’d never suggest that Cannonball Adderley is “underrated”. He plays on too many classic dates to mention.
I am comfortable saying, however, that some of the titles in his vast catalog can be overlooked in favour of his more recognisable output.
This record has been sitting in my want list for a minute. I can’t recall when I first heard the title track, but I’d instantly clocked it as special and added it to the list.
It’s a funky, soulful record that at times finds the sweet spot between spiritual and fusion, kind of Mwandishi-vibes, but much funkier. Maybe sitting between Mwandishi and Headhunters, via the soul-jazz avenue.
George Duke is absolutely shredding on this one. (Rhodes for days). He penned the title track.
The rest of the lineup is top tier;
Walter Booker
Airto
Nat Adderley
Buck Clarke
Roy McCurdy
Ernie Watts
Alvin Battiste
Mike Deasy
Oh, and a production credit for Axelrod!
