Edit: Some people are criticising my gameplay. This is literally my first Valheim 1.0 playthrough, so naturally I wouldn’t have the most experience in the Ashlands. Not everyone here is a veteran Valheim player y’all.
Also context:
I previously did have a fully rested buff, but I had to log out because I had to do something. But as you may know, logging out from a server takes away your rested buff when you log back in. Hence why I didn’t have the rested buff during my run here.

I tried to make a lox pie at home. Since I don't have any lox meat nor cloudberries at home, I made it from ground beef and blueberries.
It was surprisingly really delicious, didn't expect the two ingredients to go so well together.
Like one man used to say:
"Break the crust to release a cloud of fragrant steam. Delicious!"

I finally finished Valheim after 664.7 hours, and honestly, I'm feeling the void now.
I started playing back in 2022, when my cousins introduced me to the game during early access. I got hooked almost immediately. We played together on our own private servers, exploring, building, and progressing through the game. Eventually, they slowly stopped playing, until I was the only one left continuing the journey.
I ended up spending most of my Viking journey playing solo.
What I loved most about Valheim was the resource gathering, the exploration, and especially the building. There's something incredibly satisfying about beating a boss, unlocking new materials, and using what you've gathered to improve your base. Every upgrade felt earned.
I'll always remember the weekends when I finally had time to play after work, the late nights spent farming resources, and those long ocean voyages with a boat full of iron, hoping I'd make it home without losing everything. I've died more times than I can count, but somehow, those frustrating moments became part of the experience, too.
Of course, there were times when I wished I had more people to play with. Valheim is such a great game to experience with friends, and seeing my cousins gradually move on was a little sad. But even playing alone, I found so much enjoyment in the journey. There was always something to build, somewhere to explore, or another goal to work toward.
Now that I've finally finished it, looking back on those four years feels a little surreal. It's not just about beating the final boss or reaching the endgame. It's all the little moments in between, the bases I built, the resources I gathered, the things I learned, and the countless hours I spent in a world that kept me coming back.
I'm not usually the type of gamer who jumps from one game to another. I'm pretty niche when it comes to the games I enjoy, and Valheim was one of those rare games that managed to keep me invested for years.
To everyone still out there exploring, building, fighting bosses, or just enjoying life in your little corner of the world, I hope you continue to have a great time with it. And to those who've already finished their journey, I hope you look back on yours as fondly as I do mine.
Thank you, Valheim, for the 664.7 hours and four years of memories.
Time to move on to something new, get creative, and find new things to build and enjoy. Skål, Vikings. 🍻

Been a while since I've been to the swamps in nothing but troll armor and I forgot exactly how humbling it is.

Finished it on Normal and switched to Hard (wrong decision because of Ashland mini boss). Trophy hunting took me the longest and the last achievement that I got.

Does anyone else feel like the cinematics should play after defeating the bosses? I beat a few of them but I never get to sleep right after and I ended up forgetting that they existed. They are so cool I think they deserve a chance to shine.

Found a nice mistlands spot, all tillable land and no mist in a big chunk. Made a cave base and trying to make it inmune to fire above and also protected from seeker soldiers with earth walls. So making a bunker basically. Its right next to a wolf mountain so I get to lure both biomes against each other if things get dire.
It's more or less safe now if I don't come out, seekers can hear me working inside but I've closed off the views with marble from a nearby ruined dvrger thing. Got 2 gjall trophies, 1 tick trophy, 1 seeker trophy doing this, and also a seeker soldier one. Creepy place to build at first.

Weird question, I know.
But I really want to understand how people approach the game and the overall progression.
Do you keep adapting to new biomes?
Do you move from biome to biome and build new homes and refuges?
Or do you seek the perfect spot and make it your permanent home no matter what?
How do you establish your portal network?
How do you upkeep resources from older biomes?
What's your overall strategy?
I wanna hear !!!
