To all branched students looking to move to Storrs.
EDIT - Folks correctly pointed out Spring to Storrs is not applicable. There is a limited process to change campuses in before the usual 54-credit requirement.
I'm a CLAS and UConn MPA alum who worked an on-campus job in an advising office. Unless you can demonstrate substantial new information that was not presented on your application, UConn WILL NOT accept your appeal for a campus change to Storrs. The University received 55,000 applicants, and there will be Storrs students that probably won't have access to housing. I understand this is disappointing, but it's not the end of the world. There is a process to request an early campus change to Storrs: https://campuschange.uconn.edu Make sure you do well. UConn will generally prioritize majors that require courses only offered at Storrs.
I seriously recommend the Community College route. It is incredibly inexpensive, and more or less all of your credits will transfer. UConn maintains a database of how specific courses will transfer here: https://admissions.uconn.edu/apply/transfer/transfer-credit/equivalencies/. If you want the "traditional" college experience, all of the CSUs, including Central and Eastern are good schools. Finally, it is MUCH easier to get into Storrs as a transfer student. I graduated HS with decent extra curriculars, employment experience, and a 3.9 unweighted GPA. I was branched, and disappointed. I attended UMass Amherst for one year, and successful transferred to UConn for my sophomore year with only a 3.1 college GPA. I regret going to UMass that one year because of the insane cost.
It's disappointing, I know - but you can get into Storrs soon, (almost certainly by the end of your Sophomore year). Do well, and good luck. Feel free to PM me any questions.

Does anyone know where a recreational non music major drummer can practice? Are there any kits people can hop on and use?

How many mechanical engineering concentration courses (3295 classes) can I take per semester?
I read somewhere that you can take a max of 9 credits worth per semester (and assuming each is worth 3 that would be 3 courses you could take) but I don’t know if this is true

Looking for friends/study buddies
Good Afternoon UConn! I am a 5th semester junior and I want to improve my social experience here on campus. I am very studious and I tend to socially isolate myself without meaning to. It would be great to make a friend who is also studious like me. Besides studying, we can go out to eat, go on walks, or do something else you like lol. I really just appreciate the chance to chat with people outside of class. Message me if you're interested! :)

Bio 1108
Hi! I’m pre med and currently taking 1107. It’s not bad so far, but I’m wondering if it’s worth it to take bio 1108 because it’s not a major requirement but if i need it for pre med I have to take it.

Storrs Late Night Dining Survey
For one of our classes, we have to collect responses about something on campus. For any students on Storrs campus who use late-night dining at the dining halls, or don't for any reason, I'd really appreciate it if you'd take a few minutes to share your thoughts in this short and anonymous survey! All questions are optional and you're not required to answer anything you don't want to. Thank you so much :)

How could i beef up my resume while at Uconn?
I’m interest in doing accounting but I just want to beef up my involvement. I’m not in the business school yet and probably won’t be able to apply until my junior fall. I applied for hillside ventures but didn’t get in but there’s a lot of programs i’m interested in like The opportunity fund too. How can I apply to these programs and actually get accepted. Looking for insight from members because I am not sure how to actually get accepted into these on campus programs.

EEB 2244 or 2245?
I have to take one of these classes to complete a bio minor, but I'm not sure which one is easier. I looked at the ratings for my professors (M. Davis for 2244 and McAssey/Lewis for 2245), and both seem to have difficult exams and are test-heavy in grading. I'm also taking two other hard STEM courses next semester, so I need something that won't tank my GPA. Any advice?

CLAS Q Course Requirements
Hey, probably a stupid question, but my advisor isn't the greatest.
My major requires an additional Q course on top of the two already needed by CLAS. Does it matter if you do two MATH courses and one STAT or does it have to be different sections for each?
Ex: I took MATH 1011Q and STAT 1100Q.
I am debating MATH 1060Q (precalc) since I took Calc AB in highschool but didn't get the AP credit.
Is that allowed or??? Idk why it wouldn't be but I'm hearing conflicting views

Curve for EEB 2244E - Miranda L. Davis??
Hey guys, I'm currently taking EEB 2244E this semester with Miranda L. Davis and it's harder than I expected. Wondering if anyone has taken it recently with her and knows if she curves at the end of the semester?

Does it get any better?
I'm a 5th semester junior and I'm hoping to ask seniors and grads if life gets any better.
I'm a stem major, former CLAS switched to CAHNR. I'm taking 15 credits right now, and my entire course sequence at uconn has been 13, 16, 14, 16, and now 15 credits.
I'm done with my gen eds, I've just got a handful more core (broader-range) STEM classes left.
I am writing to ask, is life really best in college? For the past three years I've felt horrible. Day in, day out, I just feel like my past three years have been wasted. I'm overworked, I sleep too little, I eat too little, I've lost friends and gained very few. I have no time for extracurriculars. I feel my mind and body withering with each passing day. I feel weak, I feel sick, and I'm just so, so tired of putting myself through this each day. I just feel so hopeless, and I want to know if this is all there is. I've tried everything I could think of to improve my conditions. Therapy, changing study strategies, reducing credits, literally nothing has helped me yet.
I feel that I've wasted the start of my adulthood at UConn, and seriously regret coming here. My family tells me that these are supposedly the best four years of my life. I'm so upset to see them pass me by, but the money and time and just blood I've sunk into this school.. it's too much for me to just up and leave.
Do things get better after graduation, or am I cooked?
