Traveling from abroad and missed my chance to buy them directly.

Usually, bands don't hold my interest for more than a few months, but Tricot has been my absolute favorite band for nearly a year now.

At first, I didn't quite get them, but after listening again a while later, I got totally hooked. I literally like almost every single one of their songs. Their albums just keep getting better with every listen, and I'm so glad I haven't gotten bored of them yet - I haven't even listened to A N D or T H E yet, even though people say they're the best, because I'm stuck just re-listening to the other songs. I actually started listening to them in reverse order - from the latest album to the earliest - and right now I'm listening to 3 twice a day.

I especially love that Tricot has cool Japanese-style arrangements but avoids that constant, super-high-pitched vocal style.

Sorry if this post seems a bit pointless; I just didn't have anyone else to tell how much I love this band, since none of my friends like them.

Thanks!

Sorry if the text is a bit strange; English isn't my native language.

I can still understand why one might remove the tone knob (though I can barely hear the difference with or without it). But why remove the bridge pickup? Nothing comes to mind other than a personal dislike for it.

I’m really drawn to tricot’s combination of poppiness and instrumental complexity, especially as a guitarist. In general, I’ve noticed this kind of combination in a lot of Japanese bands.

tricot are usually described as a math rock/indie band, but I’ve also heard people say that they don’t really fit into those genres, especially when it comes to their more recent albums. At the same time, some people say that a song can still be math rock even if it’s in 4/4.

So I’m a little confused. What genres would you actually classify tricot as?

I suppose I’d still classify it as math rock.

I’d be interested to hear your thoughts and what criteria you would use to classify tricot’s music by genre.

I like their sound and would like to know how they shape it. I checked out their pedals on Equipboard, but it’s not entirely clear which specific songs they used a particular pedal on. I’d like to know what their core pedals are.

I mean, which song could be called the gold standard of their work?

hi!

are there any songs without translations? I’d love to get some practice in but don’t know where to start hehe

August 22, 2026. Wait, that's on Saturday. No other details given.

I'm a THE/AND era kinda guy - just wondering if there's anyone that genuinely enjoys the song enough to learn it on bass/rhythm/lead guitar. Been learning it as a pet project as a reason to pick up the axe again. I'll tab it out if there's enough interest.

Edit: Good to see some interest - I'm slowly working on it. Maybe I can get the lead riff down for now and post it hopefully soon. It's a bit tricky so it would make for some good practice for sure.

This do-over of 秘蜜 is interesting (although as one of my favourite of their songs I think I’d like to hear it “properly” if I ever get a chance to see them live!). Is this the song of theirs that has had the most live re-workings?

Hey guys, I’m a new tricot fan who absolutely fell in love with their debut album T H E the first time I heard it. I was able to track down an official version of their cd on eBay. For some reason it was kinda hard to find an official copy online, unless if I was looking at the wrong websites (I live in the US btw). But a listing finally showed up on eBay one day and I finally have their cd!! Just thought I’d share pictures of what comes included with the cd in case someone is also wanting to buy their cd but don’t know if it’s worth the money (btw it 100% worth it). Please don’t mind the glare, manly fingers, and cat hair. As someone who appreciates photography, graphic design, and fashion I love every picture and poster that’s included.

The bass is super tasteful in the original ver of super summer! Looove how it bounces around the guitars.

Here's another video from the same show: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eTD9eFWmvMY

The lottery period is over but general tickets are available through eplus, if you’re in Japan. HOWEVER, the real reason for this post is: What is Ikkyu talking about for two minutes? Anything about what tricotX is or what they’re doing next? Any clues would be appreciated. 😃
