Announcement Welcome to r/soundriser: announcements, updates, feature talk and your success stories

Hi everyone, I'm Jean, the founder of Soundriser.

This is where I post:

  • Announcements: the big news.
  • Updates: new releases and new features, as soon as they ship.
  • Status: if something is down, you'll read it here, and I'll update the post when it's fixed.

You can post too:

  • Features: ask about a feature, suggest an idea, tell us what you love.
  • Success Story: a real outcome in your music life thanks to Soundriser: a collaboration, a release, a paid gig, a festival slot, label or radio interest. Follower counts on their own aren't a success story. Those stories are the best part of my job.

If you like, end your post with your Soundriser code (the assistant in Soundriser gives it to you). It's optional, safe to share, and lets me recognise you.

Need help with your account? Bugs, billing and any other issue are never handled on Reddit. Sign in and open the Support page at soundriser.io/support: the assistant can help right away and pass your conversation to me. Or email contact@soundriser.io from your account email. Please never post your email, phone number or payment details here.

Join the community to see the updates in your feed.

Announcement Introduce yourself: drop your SoundCloud and tell us what you make

Tell us what you make and where to hear it. This should be a community of artists, not a ticket queue.

Reply with:

  • Your SoundCloud link
  • Your genre(s)
  • Where you are based
  • One thing you are working on right now (a release, a live set, hitting 1k followers, whatever)
  • Your Soundriser code (optional). Ask the assistant inside Soundriser for yours, it looks like SR-XXXXXX. It is safe to share and it lets me recognise you here. Never post your real name, email or phone number.

Features Expert mode: seed artists now need 300 followers instead of 2,000

Quick update for everyone using Expert mode.

Until now, a seed artist had to have at least 2,000 SoundCloud followers before you could add them. That rule kept the candidate pool healthy, but it also locked out a lot of real scenes.

As of this week, the minimum is 300 followers.

# What changed

  • Expert mode accepts any artist with 300+ followers.
  • Artists between 300 and 2,000 followers show a small amber label: "Small audience, runs out fast". You can still add them, the label is just a heads-up.
  • Smart mode is unchanged. It keeps picking bigger, genre-matched artists for you, and the recommended suggestions still start at 2,000.

    Why the label matters

A seed artist with 400 followers gives you a few hundred candidates at most, and after a few days of follows that pool is exhausted. That is expected, not a bug.

Two tips if you go small

  1. Mix a few bigger artists in the same genre with your small picks, so the list never runs dry.
  2. Swap or refresh your small seeds every couple of weeks. The dashboard tells you when a list is running out.

This came straight from a member request. If there is a scene you still cannot target the way you want, post it under the Features flair and I will take a look.

Features Collab finder update: bigger lists, a live match count, and more

I spent the last two days on the Collab finder (Boost Max) after looking at how people were actually using it. Honest finding: most searches stopped at 20 producers even when there were hundreds more in your city, and a few searches came back empty because the genre picked was too precise. That's fixed, plus a few things I'd wanted for a while.

# What changed

  • Lists go to 100 now, and you can keep going. There's a "Find more producers" button at the bottom of every search. It works on finished searches too.
  • You see how many producers match while you're still building the search. Pick genres and cities and the dialog tells you roughly how many people fit. If it says nothing matches, widen it right there instead of waiting days for an empty result.
  • Precise genres don't come back empty anymore. If you pick something like hypnotic techno and there are only a handful in your city, closely related techno producers fill the list, ranked below the exact fits.
  • Each match shows who already follows you and who's a fan of one of your seed artists. Those are the easiest people to message first.
  • "Draft an intro message". Click the speech bubble on any match and the assistant writes a short first message you can paste into SoundCloud, in your language. Edit it, make it yours, send it from their profile.
  • Contacted and dismiss moved into the small menu on each row so the useful buttons have room.

Everything still runs on the deep research in the background for a few days, and you still get the summary email at the end.

    What I'd like to hear

Two things if you try it: did the list give you people you'd actually want to work with, and did anyone reply to an intro? That's what I'm going to judge this on.

If a search still comes back thin, tell me the genre and city and I'll look at why.

Features Label accounts: manage all your artists from one sign-in

A manager who looks after five artists asked for this, so I built it.

If you manage several artists, you can now have a label account. You sign in once and see all your artists on one page. One click opens an artist, and inside it everything works the way it always has: its own SoundCloud connection, its own plan, its own settings.

A few things worth knowing:

* Each artist stays a separate account. Artists can be on different plans, and you can change a plan at any time.

* You pay for each artist with your own card.

* Every subscribed artist gets the label rate: 20% off with 2 to 5 artists, 23% with 6 to 10, 27% with 11 to 20, and 30% with 21 or more.

* The rate follows the number of subscribed artists. It goes up when you add artists and down if some stop, it applies from each account's next invoice, and I email you whenever it changes.

* All emails about your artists come to your inbox, with the artist's name at the start of the subject.

* The label rate replaces promo codes and referral discounts. They do not add up.

* If you already have an account, it becomes your first artist. Its history and its subscription stay as they are.

* If an artist leaves your label later, the account leaves with them, history included.

Label accounts are set up on request. If you want one, ask the assistant in the app or use the contact form, tell me how many artists you manage, and I will switch you over.

Questions and ideas about it are welcome here. For anything about your own account, use the assistant in the app or the contact form.

Features Pause and clean up, one click to unfollow everything Soundriser followed for you

A member asked for the feature, so I built it.

If you want to take a break, there is now a "Pause and clean up" button on the Automation page. One click and Soundriser stops following new accounts for you, then unfollows the accounts it followed for you. You choose: all of them, or only the ones that did not follow you back.

A few things worth knowing:

  • It does not cancel your membership. Nothing changes on the billing side, and you can switch Auto-Follow back on whenever you want.
  • It only touches accounts Soundriser followed. Anyone you followed yourself stays, and so does your blacklist.
  • Your followers are not affected. People who followed you back stay your followers unless they decide otherwise.
  • It runs in the background and takes from a few hours to about a day, depending on how many accounts there are. You can watch the progress and stop it at any time.

Questions and ideas about it are welcome here. For anything about your own account, use the assistant in the app or the contact form.

Features Feature Request - improvement to the Followers/Notifications overview

I’d like to suggest an improvement to the Followers/Notifications overview.

It would be very useful to see more context for each new follower directly in the list, especially:

  • the date when they started following me
  • how many of their own tracks they have uploaded
  • how many posts or reposts they have made
  • ideally, when their last content activity took place

For artists, this would make follower management much easier. After some time, I want to be able to identify accounts that are completely inactive from a content perspective and potentially unfollow them.

If someone does not release tracks, post content, or repost anything over a longer period, they are essentially using SoundCloud only as a listener. In that case, following them back does not necessarily add value to an artist’s feed or network, while it makes the following list unnecessarily large.

Having basic activity information directly visible in the follower overview would therefore make it much easier to maintain a relevant, active network without having to open and manually check every single profile.

Update How Soundriser actually works (and what it does NOT do)

Soundriser puts your profile in front of real SoundCloud listeners who are likely to like your music, and it removes the ones who never follow back. No bots, no fake accounts, no bought followers. Here is the full version.

What it does

  1. You connect your SoundCloud through SoundCloud's official login (OAuth). We never see or store your password.
  2. You pick seed artists, artists whose fans would probably like your music. Soundriser pulls their followers as candidates.
  3. An AI score ranks every candidate by how likely they are to follow you back. You can also prioritize people in your city or country, fans of your genres, SoundCloud Pro accounts, or recently active users. Drag the criteria to set the order.
  4. Auto-follow follows the best candidates every day. The daily number adjusts automatically to keep your account safe. Your plan sets the ceiling, and you can set your own cap lower.
  5. Auto-unfollow removes accounts that did not follow back after a grace period you choose (5 to 60 days). Only accounts Soundriser followed are touched. People who followed you back are protected.
  6. Blacklist: accounts on it are never followed or unfollowed.
  7. Insights: daily snapshots of new followers, unfollows, follow-backs, top countries, and what your audience actually listens to.

What it does NOT do

  • No bots, no fake accounts, no bought followers. Every follower is a real SoundCloud user who chose to follow you.
  • No plays, likes or comments automation. It is follow, unfollow, targeting and analytics. That's it.
  • It does not make bad music popular. It puts your profile in front of the right people, your tracks do the rest.

Can my account get banned?

So far no Soundriser user account has been banned or shadow-banned on SoundCloud. That is why the daily volume adapts by itself and why there is no play, like or comment automation. More in Safety and daily limits.

Plans

Classic, Boost and Boost Max. The difference is the daily volume and the targeting options. Everything starts with a 7-day free trial and you can cancel with one click.

Typical timeline

Most people see their first follow-backs within 24 to 48 hours. Real momentum shows after 1 to 2 weeks, once the grace-period cycle has run once.

Questions? Ask below, I answer everything.
