Loud boom in Lake City around 1:15am
Looks like SFD sent a truck to investigate but they cleared the incident in seven minutes, not sure what it could have possibly been.

Just heard a very loud bang (around 12:45) that sounded like it came from a bit East of Belltown. Anyone have any idea what that was?

My ears perked up when I thought I heard something like a manhole cover. Access to cable is under such so I look outside to make sure it's utility personnel as I'm just waiting for some of those alley dwellers to start trying to steal copper.
I heard a large metal thing rolling, then a really loud, deep pop. There's a 3' or 4' metal tube on the sidewalk now. And some poor gig driver was crouching down behind his side door window. I hope he didn't crap himself. ;-> Did they put a firecracker down a manhole? Where they launching that pipe out into the street? I don't know. I've heard a softer, vague thwooop sometimes in the evening. I wondered if there was something vacuum-sealed the glass guys empty in the evening.

That's what you probably heard just now

woke me up

Woke up just now to what sounded distinctly like gunshots. There were several bursts followed by a final 3 shot burst. Anyone have details? From where I'm at sounded like it was coming from the south.
EDIT: Based on the responses I take it I mistook what was likely fireworks for gunshots when I woke up.

Iām on the west side of Capitol Hill. Seemed a distance away to the west, maybe SLU or Queen Anne. Large firework or transformer.

I've heard ongoing bangs and rumbles for the last 10 minutes in Magnolia. Is there a firework display going on somewhere?

Any clue what these big booms are? Some sound more like bombs than gunshots, but they're happening so frequently without any following sirens that I can't think they're actual explosions.

I saw someone post at a similar time last week. Iāve seen two flashes of light followed by a bang separated by maybe 5-7 minutes. Any ideas?
