New tiara for Queen Mary of Denmark 🇩🇰

Tonight October 19 2026, during the state dinner for the Vietnamese state visit to Denmark, Queen Mary debuted a “new” tiara.

Her Majesty The Queen wore Queen Alexandrine's sapphire jewel in a new design for the first time. The jewel was acquired by the Royal Collection and reimagined in close collaboration with the Queen. The gala dinner was held on the occasion of the state visit of His Excellency the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Tô Lâm, and his wife, Mrs. Ngô Phương Ly.
The piece of jewellery was originally given as a wedding gift to the later Queen Alexandrine at her wedding to the later Christian X in 1898. Since then, it has been worn by several generations of the royal family. Along the way, the piece of jewellery has been continuously redesigned and adapted to keep up with the changing fashion and usage of the time. The Royal Collection acquired the piece of jewellery from a private owner in 2024. Together with jewellery designers Diana Holstein and Hanan Emquies, the Queen, in close collaboration with the Royal Collection, has helped to give the piece of jewellery a new, fully reversible design. A design that respects the piece's history and special tradition and makes it usable today.
The piece can now be worn as a tiara, necklace or brooch, continuing the historical tradition of royal jewellery being adapted to the needs and tastes of new generations.

• Queen Mary rewore the top, it’s oart of a set made by Jesper Høvring. She has worn it 5 times, 3 times in past three years.
• The skirt is also a rewear also by Jesper Høvring, she first wore it with a matching top on January 5 2026 for the New Year's Court receptions at Christiansborg Palace
• The clutch has been worn several times over the years being first worn on May 8 2011, it’s the Prada Raso Clutch in Navy Satin
• She wore the higher setting of the tiara as a bracelet. The brooch is attached to velvet bracelet on her left arm.

Thought others might find this interesting as I did. Sad considering how reality panned out but crazy how some stuff did happen!

The King and Queen of Sweden tonight October 19 2026 hosted a state banquet in the honor of President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and Mrs Jane Ittogi ShanmugaratNam.

Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia did not join because they had another event at a similar time.

• Queen silvia wore the connaught diamond tiara with a new outfit. Georg et Arend Olimpia top in pink with Georg et Arend Konstanze evering dress in pink. Her earrings and brooch are from the Swedish pink topaz parure

• Crown Princess victoria wore the boucheron laurel wreath tiara with a new gown from H&M studio sequined shoulder pad dress. She wore the Swedish diamond floral earrings with the baden opal brooch.

• Princess Madeleine wore the modern fringe tiara

The state visit from Vietnam was celebrated with a gala table at Christiansborg Castle on October 19 2026 🇻🇳🇩🇰

Their Majesties The King and Queen hosted the evening held in honour of the Presidential couple. Also at the table was His Royal Highness the Crown Prince together with the Government, the Vietnamese delegation, the Presidium of the People's Parliament and representatives of official Denmark.

During the evening, the King and the President made speeches. The king said, among other things:
"It is a great pleasure for Her Majesty Queen Mary and for me to welcome the Presidential Couple here in Denmark. We are looking forward to your visit and to be able to reciprocate the warmth we experienced when we visited Vietnam. "

The king also got into the family's ties to the country:
"Our family has many good memories from Vietnam.
My father, Prince Henry, spent the first five years of his life in Hanoi, returning young and bare since Vietnam and the Vietnamese in his heart. "

This is Crown Prince Christian’s first state visit dinner.

'I felt very alone'

The Princess of Orange started at Defensity College in 2025 and is currently working for the Royal Netherlands Navy. Last week, she sailed on the Statsraad Lehmkuhl together with first-year Midshipmen. The Statsraad Lehmkuhl is a Norwegian three-masted ship from 1914 that is regularly used as a training ship for the navy.

Defensity College aims to offer students a meaningful military part-time job during their studies and to increase the visibility and connection between the armed forces and society. The program consists of various placements within the armed forces, military activities, and training. In doing so, the program contributes to the personal, professional, and military development of the military work-study student. 

There has traditionally been a close bond between the armed forces and the Royal House. William of Orange was commander-in-chief of the army; subsequent kings held supreme authority. Since the Constitution of 1983, supreme authority rests with the government. King Willem-Alexander fulfilled his military service in the Royal Netherlands Navy; subsequently, he served in the Royal Netherlands Army and the Royal Netherlands Air Force. Within the armed forces, he holds a special position and military status as King.

Apparently, King Charles III, Queen Camilla AND Prince William are going to be at Aberfan on Wednesday 21st for the 60th Anniversary of the disaster that struck the community. Really hoping the weather stays dry and for everyone on the day.

Vietnamese state visit to Denmark: It’s confirmed as of Sunday on the website that the King, Queen and Crown Prince will attend the dinner, so we might only see Queen Mary in a tiara in Denmark.

Singaporian state visit to Sweden:*** ***There’s isn’t any confirmation on their official website on who’s attending, but Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia have an event tomorrow, so I’m not sure if they’ll be attending or not.

October 20 2026:

Omani state visit to the United Kingdom:* As usual *it is expected that the Queen, the Princess of Wales, the Duchess of Edinburgh and the Princess Royal to be in attendance.

October 22 2026:

Official dinner for members of the parliament:* *It’s confirmed that Queen Sonja and Ingrid Alexandra will be attendance, Mette-Marit will not be seen at any event/engagement untill summer 2027.
