I have rescued this lovely bird from the malicious talons of my cat. Luckily she missed and only knocked the bird down from the tree, I have managed to grab before her and took it inside.

I’m assuming it’s a fledgling bird and I shouldn’t interfere too much but I have spotted two numbered rings on its legs.

I took him inside, made him some warm place to stay and left him some mushed boiled eggs.

Not really sure what to do now. My guess is too wait until it stop raining and release him far away from my house.

Also, what species is it? Looks amazing under the sun.

Haven't posted here for a while as I haven't had anything especially interesting, but I'm quite pleased with some sightings from a recent holiday. The heron at the Falls of Dochart was very chill and let me sidle up to around 12m or so. The very fuzzy image through the cabin window on a boat on Loch Tay is a white-tailed eagle - a first for me. It was gone before I managed to get out for a clearer shot.

Hi all!

I’m really struggling with this bird! Started with Merlin not being able to identify and still no closer after consulting with some local ecologists/ ornithologists.

I live in West Yorkshire - on the edge of moorland but also within 100m or so of a small river.

The clip demonstrates the call at 7 seconds and 24 seconds.

Any ideas?

Not sure what bird this is, could it be a crow or raven with white wing feathers? Seen in a field with several other crows.
Note: end of the video shows bird in flight!

Best pics I could get. Body was closer in size to a goose than a duck! Guessing some sort of mix between a mallard and something else?

Sadly it seems my neighbour 4 doors down is cutting down the tree in their garden, I wouldn't be concerned but I know for a fact Magpies have an do nest in that tree :(, literally even this year, I want to report it but as its a Sunday I can't. They cut some of it down yesterday, I don't want to tell them what they can't do, but I'm concerned for the birds, should I just call RSPB tomorrow?

had fun sitting with this guy for 10 minutes at the beach today. pretty sure its a starling but just wanted to make sure ! possibly a juvenile?
