What goes on when applying through HEOP since ive heard of it and how its meant to be a mini safety net.
Im low income NYC citizen (for basically whole life) and my gpa is a 94.07 weighted (my school does not list unweighted) and im taking max rigour and my ecs are really lacking (only have a few that i just started this year as a junior). And basically have 0 awards besides constant high tier honor roll which i think isint good for me as average.
I have transportation issues also that contributes to not having much ecs out of my school since basically most of the student sin my school have a Student OMNY Card (student transporation card) for living too far but i sadly live too close so i dont qualify for me and even when i try to appeal it to my school, they reject it including guidence and principle and omny card director. Also my school didnt offer much ecs that are tied to my interested major(s) untill sophomore/junior year so that might add on?
I wanna apply for NYU Tandon for CE as my main choice and CAS for CS and LS as my alternate choices.
I saw online that it involves an interivew which im a lil worried abt doing since im horrible at public speaking and have a somewhat noticeable stutter. I have an IEP so idk if any accomdations exist for the HEOP interview.
Would applying through HEOP be benifital for my situation and how does it really work and if anyone has got accepted through HEOP in NYU please explain me the full process on what to submit, what goes on and any advice that i should do.
