Discussion Perhaps a hot take: I think 90% of nirvana songs are atleast an 8/10
Recently I’ve re listened to the albums; Nevermind, In Utero, Bleach, Incestiside and MTV Unplugged. I also rated every song since in my other listens throughout my time as a Nirvana fan, I don’t think I looked into the lyrics enough (even if some of them are meaningless) or really paid attention and gave every song its deserved listening.
I think Nirvana is one of the bands in the world which is best at consistency. Every album gives a different vibe of the same similarity and it works so damn well! Incestiside is my least favourite Nirvana album out of the extended 5 I count but most song still fall under 7-8. The consistency is amazing. So much hits. About 1-2 “bad” songs through the whole catalogue. Nirvana always hits and most of their songs, I do believe, are good to great at the very least and the other 10% fills 7/10 9/10 and 10/10 spots.
Does anyone else agree?

Discussion Perhaps a hot-take: But I think Nirvana were good…
Hello, fellow human Nirvana fans…
Hear me out… I know it’s controversial, but I think Nirvana was actually thoroughly good at making music.
Kurt’s songs are actually good - like 90% perfect.
Krist’s bass is genuinely 70% of my favourite bass tone.
And Dave / Chad played the drums to a sufficient level of excellence that pleases me.
I just think it deserves to be said that they were actually good, that’s my hot-take.

Discussion A perspective on Courtney/ Kurt‘s death that I haven’t seen before online
Of course there’s all the craziness surrounding his death, with a bunch of people saying Courtney shot him etc, then other people saying that’s crazy.
But a little while back I was watching this interview with her, and she actually admitted that she felt guilty about something.
Shortly before his death, he was holding their baby and he was on drugs, so I think he passed out and almost dropped the baby. Then when he woke up, Courtney told him that he dropped the baby, I guess she kind of made it sound worse because she said she wanted to make him sober up.
But it sounded like she felt really guilty because that may have actually been a factor that led to his suicide. So while I don’t think it’s right to say that she killed him, it seems like she definitely said some things that she regretted.

Discussion Nirvana Alternate History - Sub Pop Sound Forever???
It is July 1990 and Nirvana's record label wants a sophomore record to the successful "Bleach" and on November 16th 1990, Nirvana would release their second Sub-Pop studio album "Sheep". Sheep goes on to sell about 150,000 copies by early 1991. It is a massive victory for Sub Pop, saving the indie label from bankruptcy. Nirvana becomes the heroes of college radio alongside Sonic Youth and Pixies. becomes a cult-classic transitional record. It bridges the heavy, abrasive sludge of Bleach with the brilliant pop sensibilities Kurt was secretly harboring. What is the alternate history you ask? Well, Because they are locked into promoting Sheep, Chad Channing stays in the band through the end of 1990 and early 1991. And Dave Grohl remains the drummer of Scream, completely altering the timeline of alternative rock. Because Sheep drops in 1990, Smells Like Teen Spirit, Come As You Are and Lithium would have turned out much different due to the fact that Dave Grohl and Kurt Cobain would have not had the Boombox Rehearsals, due to the fact that Nirvana would be legally obligated to do heavy touring through late 1990 to somewhere around May or June of 1991 to promote Sheep. This heavy touring would probably lead to a break around mid to late 1991 so around when our timeline's second album came out. However, without the world-shattering blast of "Teen Spirit" in the fall of 1991, 80s Hair metal hangs on for a few more years, Nirvana remains a tightly guarded underground secret, and they also remain a brilliant, critically adored, but mid-sized club band.

As the title says, just posting as I thought you’d all be interested! £12! I believe this show was postponed and then cancelled due to Kurt’s health.

Question/Request Any Nirvana songs you misunderstood the lyrics to?
Are there any lyrics to any nirvana songs that you got wrong, or a misunderstood? For me it's the song " lithium," i always thought that kurt was saying, " i'm not gonna cry."
I literally just found out after all these years that he was saying, "im not gonna crack."
I was just wondering if any of you all have experienced anything similar?
