We’ve been working on something pretty cool for comics and manga fans.

Neon Ichiban is coming soon to iPhone Duo!

We’re bringing the feel of reading an open comic or manga straight to a dual-screen experience, with some fun features:

📖 Two-page spreads — See your favorite comics the way they were meant to be read, with both pages side by side.

✨ Animated page turns — Flip through comics with page curls that feel like turning a real book.

👉 Smart controls — Easy navigation without getting in the way of the art.

🔥 Tabletop mode — Read your comics on the top screen while browsing page previews and controls below.

🎌 Made for manga — More room for the panels, artwork, and stories you love.

We’re pretty excited about what two screens can bring to digital comics and manga.

Check out this first look in action!

What do you think? Would you read comics or manga on a dual-screen phone?

Happy #NCBD! You can get all the new comics and manga, plus NEW & existing sales from DC, Marvel, Kodansha, and Dark Horse, new backlist books, and more RIGHT NOW on Neon Ichiban.

Great writer!

Disregard, the Superman book was last week.

Hi all!

Chip here, co-founder of Neon Ichiban.

Today we shipped Neon Ichiban 3.0, and the buy button is back. On iPhone and iPad you can find a comic, buy it, and start reading it without getting bounced to a browser.

What else is in 3.0:

• In-app purchasing in the Android public beta. Fans wanting early access can sign up here.
• A much bigger Mac Desktop beta. This is the one I think this sub will care about most: you can import DRM-free PDF, CBZ and CBR files - Kickstarter backings, Humble Bundles, direct-from-creator purchases, publisher downloads - and keep them in the same library as the books you bought from us. Coming soon: We're integrating the Grand Comics Database to help identify and organize the imports, so a folder of inconsistently named files becomes something browsable. Sign up here.

We're not interested in pretending your collection starts and ends with what you bought from us. If you own it, bring it with you.

Current catalog is 60,000+ titles including Marvel, DC, Kodansha, Dark Horse, IDW, DSTLRY, Dynamite, Legendary, Mad Cave, Oni, Rebellion, Titan, Udon and Vault.

This is two months after 2.5, where we added Commissionable Remarques, community profiles, reviews and reading lists. We're moving fast and the roadmap is very much shaped by feedback, so... what's still missing for you? I'll be in the comments.

Will we be able to use custom pfp and banners one day?
Maybe even in gif format? I think it would be really really cool

What are you collecting on Neon Ichiban?

I typically collect single issues, but I’ve bought a few trades as well.

Chris, head of Remarques, again.

Second post this week, with more coming. I apparently do this now.

Dave Gibbons, best known for the pirate comic Tales of the Black Freighter and, incidentally, the superhero comic happening around it called Watchmen, has opened digital Remarque commissions on Neon Ichiban.

$20 per digital Remarque. Open now through the end of day on Monday, October 5.

A nice opportunity to get something from the guy who drew your favorite comic within your favorite comic.

Show off in the comments what cover you got for this landmark issue!

Personally, a massive sucker for the Julian Totino Tedesco cover, as well as the Muppets cover (because really, what muppet would capture NYC vibes better than Rizzo?)

Haven't grabbed a copy yet or undecided on a cover? We've got em all here for easy browsing: https://neonichiban.com/carousels/asm1000

Happy Savings!!!

Chris, head of Remarques here.

I considered listing everything Mark Waid has written, but I assume some of us have plans this week. So, because he has a good heart, Mark turned on commissions.

There’s Kingdom Come. The Flash. Daredevil. Fantastic Four. Superman: Birthright. Captain America. JLA. Archie. Batman/Superman: World’s Finest. Justice League Unlimited. And quite a lot more hiding behind the phrase “quite a lot more.”

Now you can choose an eligible Mark Waid comic from your Neon Ichiban collection or the marketplace and commission him to sign your copy.

And yes, requests work. A few people specifically asked for Batman/Superman/Weird Al: World’s Weirdest #1, so Mark pre-signed copies for us. That is the actual title of the comic, although “the one where Batman and Superman team up with Weird Al to stop reality from becoming boring” also works. Those signed copies are available now.

For everything else, send your commission request with any notes, Mark confirms your spot, and the completed book returns to your collection as a unique 1-of-1 digital Remarque.

Commissions start at $3, and 70% of every sale goes directly to Mark.

If there’s a particular Mark Waid book you want signed, this is where to look:

https://neonichiban.com/creators/719/mark-waid

Your friend in digital,

Chris
