I watched Reggie do this against UCLA as a kid and it was cool to see a similar animation happen in the game.

How to catch 50/50 balls?

• Upvotes

Anyone figure out to catch 50/50 balls? It doesn’t seem to matter my WR stats or height, he might win 1 out of every 10 50/50 throws on a fade or streak. The only chance I seem to have of actually connecting on a streak is something up the seam when a safety plays wide, and that’s not 50/50 ball. The corners are unbelievable.

Discussion Back to CFB26

Has anyone gone back to CFB26 because of the issues with CFB 27? I want to play the Road to Glory mode, but CFB27’s has so many glitches and bugs, I can’t.

Casual I’ve had CFB 27 free for roughly a month .

Initially I downloaded the free 3 day trial they were offering when it first released on my second console . I then disconnected the console from all internet . As the 3 day trial window closed weeks ago and I am playing as we speak ,I can confirm this is a method for sure .

I called around, and no, I don't believe the EA CFB series is in immediate risk of shutting down

Hopefully this doesn't break any self-promotional rules, but here's the (free) newsletter I put out today: https://www.extrapointsmb.com/p/is-ea-college-football-in-trouble-here-s-what-i-m-hearing

The TL:DR here:

* I can confirm that while the EA/CLC license expires after next year's release, the two sides are in active negotiations to extend the contract, and both sides want to do it

* The "it's too expensive to pay for athlete NIL" argument doesn't hold up to scrutiny given that EA enjoys the single most publisher-friendly licensing deal in all of sports

* There are legitimate concerns, broadly, about the video game industry and EA's place in it.

But I wouldn't freak out about not having a game in the next five years. Beyond that, I don't think anybody can predict what the video game industry looks like

Dynasty Position change hacks

Just wanted to give insight into some findings I have found messing around with position change and manual progression.

RBs- Contact seekers make better elusive bruisers than actual elusive bruisers. When you find a stud contact seeker with speed and accel in the 90s they usually also come in with their power in the mid to upper 80s. However their change of direction and agility is pretty mid, however changing to gadget WR you are able to upgrade elusiveness very cheap and will also cap break elusiveness if it was already capped. Changing to pure runner QB as well will allow you to upgrade power cheaper as well. You can also change to CB to upgrade man coverage to get COD to 99, the only thing to be wary of is that this may change them to an east/west playmaker. This can also work for east/west playmakers that have capped speed that won’t allow them to get shifty, by switching to gadget it’ll allow them to cap break speed.

QBs- Swapping any archetype of QB to gadget will allow you to upgrade elusiveness cheaper while also upgrading break sack as well, upgrading hands will also upgrade deep accuracy and cap break accuracy as well. You can also do the CB change to upgrade COD however this may turn them into a pure runner.

WR- elusive route runners are not able to upgrade catch in traffic or spec catch, however changing them to Rb will allow you to upgrade those. An actual gadget receivers can be changed to receiver to cap break route running and change their archetype to elusive route runner as well to have better physical badges.

TE- vertical threats have takeoff as an ability yet I have not seen a single one with the ability, however if you change them to wr, you can upgrade their speed, and also upgrading route running will increase release exponentially more than if you upgraded it as a TE. Then also upgrading hands will upgrade spec catch more than if you upgraded it as a TE.

OL- can be put to TE to cap break blocking and to gadget to upgrade speed for cheap for agile archetypes.

I will put out another tips and tricks one for defense soon!

Dynasty I created an in-game Playoff Customization mod in CFB27 (0-64 teams)

Since the release of CFB27 on PC, I've been wanting to find a way to give users a way to fully customize the dynasty experience with the true playoff format they want. There have been some external tools here and there that were able to modify the save file to technically schedule all of the games for a different playoff format, but nothing that actually reflected it in-game. This week, I was finally able to find a way for a mod to change the playoff format 100% in-game and requires NO external tools at all. With this mod, users have the full ability to set whatever playoff format they want from 0 to 64 teams without leaving the game.

https://reddit.com/link/1x7noyd/video/6yayyosefvvh1/player

Users also have the ability to set the playoff field to zero teams, which takes off the championship game altogether and determines a champion based on the polls like the pre-BCS era.

With the mod, players can head to their dynasty settings any time before bowl season and customize the following:

  • Number of teams in the playoff field
  • Number of auto-bids for conference champions
  • Max number of teams per conference
  • Maximum losses to be eligible for an at-large bid
  • Seeding logic
  • Reseeding on/off each round
  • Number of rounds on college campuses

As a new mod, expect some bugs here and there and PLEASE backup your dynasties before using. I'll be hard at work the next few weeks to patch up any bugs found and also making the experience as smooth as possible for users. Thanks for everyone for the support on this! The mod is available for download now on the official CFB27 modding community channel.

Go Big Red

Dynasty Def depth chart

Don’t get to play as much as I want so sorry if this is a stupid question and I hope I’m putting it in the right spot. I generally just sim defense, but I’m thinking about starting to play it more often. My question is, the depth chart is set to a 43 but I want to run a 425. How does the default depth chart screen carryover? I assumed in a 34 it just takes your best DT as your nose and takes the top two ILB, wouldthat mean a 425 takes your top 2 SS? Hope that makes sense and any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Tips/Guides Scheme w/ default plays?

Trying to build out my knowledge and practice with the offense as I feel like I've been garbage to years past. I've read a lot about picking a formation and mastering a handful of plays across different fronts, then introducing other formations along the way. While doing that, I'm not stringing together plays, but still just calling random ones, even defaulting back to coach suggestions eventually with no concept or forethought. This has lead me to mini schemes...

But every video I watch discussing schemes seems to take a base play and practically altering every route leaving only a fragment of the original. For someone still learning route concepts, playcalling, etc. I really trying to see if it's possible to build schemes off default plays, and what might that look like to learn from. At at the basic level with this, so jumping straight into customize play art to counter fronts is jumping to far ahead of my undesrtanding.

Road To Glory RTG CPU Rbs

My RBs are just constantly braindead and can’t score TDs in any redzone situation (or frankly at all unless it’s a receiving td), kinda frustrating because I just want to have a balanced offense

Dynasty We now need a custom postseason option in CFB 28

With 24 team playoff being announced just 2 years after using the 12 team format (SMH) i think us gamers NEED an option of how we want our postseasons to play out. I really love the CFB games but now with this news i kinda feel like that CFB 27 already feels outdated now which sucks.

So in my opinion i feel that we need the option of being able to use any of these postseason formats in CFB 28:

an old school BCS ranking era option,

4 team playoff era option,

12 team playoff era option,

New 24 team playoff option,

This would allow the user to really be able to pick and choose and make their league for them. Whether you want to go super old school or modern it would be YOUR choice. Hell maybe even add an option of a hypothetical 36 or 48 team playoff if you want to really get crazy.

How do y’all feel about this idea?

Dynasty New Dynasty House Rules

Looking for some new suggestions to breathe some life into a new dynasty.

Currently finishing up a RTG of which I'll be starting as QB coach of one of the schools I played at in college. I will assume this role for a couple of years before being promoted to OC for a couple of years and then start my own HC journey after year 4. This is to unlock some additional coach tree items and also get the NIL players are out of the game.

I plan on having the following team building rules:
- Minimum position requirements that have previously been outlined by Ivory Pass.
- May only scout each player once.
- May only pursue players who meet the requirements I found from this video (cool idea). https://youtu.be/K4UogWk9b5g?is=ffFvKONzOOA3T7Nh
- Can only manually progress FR/SO players. Must focus on speed/strength.
- Can fully manually progress two positions on each side of the ball. My specialty as HC (QB) and my defensive coordinators specialty.

I have a slew of gameplay house rules, won't bore with them.

But looking for any additional ideas!

Glitch/Bugs QB auto runs ball on HB runs and RPOs?

Has anyone experienced this where you are on offense and you call an RPO or a half back handoff, but the QB decides to just suddenly run with the ball instead like he just takes a snap and starts running forward without any controller input?

I thought maybe you was happening due to playing in a enemy stadium or because of too many audibles and formation shifts, but it seems to be happening at home and with no audibles before the play as well. Is this a bug or a built-in mechanic? And any tips on how and when this is happening and how to avoid it?
