How do we feel about this dress? I'm obsessed, but need honest opinions!

Hey everyone! I’ve honestly always pictured myself wearing a very simple, timeless dress for my big day. But ever since I came across this piece, I simply cannot stop thinking about it.
It feels so incredibly special and unique to me, but I have a feeling it might be a bit polarizing and that a lot of people won't like it.
How do you all feel about a design like this? Is it too much, or is it a showstopper? I’d love to hear your honest thoughts!

I haven't seen anyone wearing this dress anywhere, and it wasn't even one of my top choices after my first visit, but I tried this dress on at my second visit to the boutique and fell in love with it! I'm very petite and it fit me like a glove. It was so comfy and soft.

Indecisive and overwhelmed - help

A tale as old as time - an indecisive bride who is self conscious about certain parts of her body (namely my arms). I don't have too many gal pals or female relatives to consult, and am really struggling figuring out what suits me and need to buy a dress soon.

Not sure which cut is the most flattering (A-line, fit-to-flare, etc) for my body type (pear shape) and if I should go with an off the shoulder, full sleeve, or sleeveless. I'm also a fan of lace, but am wondering if I look better in other material.

Going based off the form fit and arm cut, which is your favorite??

Edit: This is my first ever reddit post and I can't believe the amount of positive support from strangers on the internet 😭😭 you all have great taste because #6 was the most expensive dress I tried on ($7k). I'm now on the hunt for a discounted version/dupe...

Chose the 8th dress I ever tried on, at the 2nd salon I ever visited. Took me 2 days of shopping to say yes😅 It is not what I expected I would choose, but it just felt right the minute I put it on. I’m so happy with my choice:)

so, i first had this strapless gown and it honestly only gave me struggles, the bodice sat oddly low and my chest was just... idk it wasnt good LOL and i went and ended up, very unexpectedly, getting this high neck dress! final slide is my initial dress, also im considering wearing my hair down in the back as well for my new dress! this whole dress journey has just been a mess for me and i'm just looking for some validation on my choice ahaha :') EDIT: i'm also going to have the sleeves shortened to wrist length and make them regular sleeves instead of bell sleeves

Deciding between two dresses a couple of weeks before my wedding, would love help choosing!

I bought two dresses, one at a local bridal boutique and one on Etsy. The Etsy dress was my first choice when we were planning on eloping to the Scottish Highlands, but after my fiancé’s family pressured us into having a traditional wedding I started to feel insecure that it was “too simple,” hence why I bought the boutique gown first and then rethought it and bought the Etsy gown.

I love both gowns. I will say I think the simpler one feels a bit more me. They are both still being altered (bodice lining is being added to 2/taken in and sleeves shaped up/fixed a bit), 1 is just having cups added inside to smooth the under-bust creasing/a 6 point bustle added. So these aren’t fully completed versions of them, and I wish I had better photos of the Etsy dress that weren’t in my mom’s bedroom lol. She tried her best at lacing the corset and fluffing the train, this was before the seamstress taught her how.

My opinion is that the detailing on 2 is stunning and princessy, but you see the dress first and me second. The first dress is simpler but I feel it really flatters my figure and lets me be the star. The chiffon on #2 also flows like water when I walk which I love. I am so torn!

Our wedding vibe is very romance book, Regency, vintage, autumnal candlelit. Think English garden, aged gold decor, bridal party wearing deep burgundy, olive, espresso, and terracotta, glowing candles everywhere. Our venue is a historic 1713 inn with mahogany wood fixtures, an old-fashioned garden with wrought iron arches, and crystal chandeliers. It isn’t a large or grand venue, but beautiful nonetheless. I have told my hair and makeup artist I want to look like someone out of a period piece like Pride and Prejudice (2005 ofc) or Emma (2020.) Simple glowy makeup, a low romantic bun, and pearl earrings/hair pins/shoes.

Would love opinions. Please be kind, they’re already being altered and if someone says “keep looking” when I’m 3 weeks away I’ll crash out lol.

Edit: WOW thank you guys so much!!! Seems like #1 is the winner both in my eyes and yours! Can’t wait to post the finished look on the day! 🤍

The two almost yes dresses and the yes with a surprise twist!

So excited to have found my dress! The first two slides are the almost yes dresses and the last one is what I went with, but the best part is the top was my mom’s vintage Maggie Sottero corset that she wore at her wedding with my dad in 2001… it’s still in amazing shape, so we brought it to try over a strapless dress (mostly just for fun). Saved it for last, and as soon as I came out my mom, best friend and sisters said umm yeah that’s the one. The bridal stylist who helped us said I was her most unique appointment! We still need to get alterations to the dress and the back panel of the corset added, but I’m so excited. I added a couple of photos of her wearing it at the end of the slides. I wanted more of a modern twist so I went with the form fitting look on the bottom🤍. I see why Maggie calls it “Maggie Magic” lol.

I LOVE IT! The bust doesn’t fit perfectly but I knew I’d have to have some sort of alterations in the end. :)

Curious about your thoughts on the look

I would like to wear my mom’s wedding veil with my wedding dress. The tulle fortunately matches, but the floral details on top of the veil have aged a little bit. I was thinking of wearing aged pearl drop earrings and putting some off white florals in my bouquet to make it all work. Any other thoughts of how I can put the look together?

Sharing my non-traditional hydrangea print wedding dress! I bought this online from Milla and it fit like a glove, no alterations needed! I felt absolutely fabulous in it that day. I’m so glad I went with a dress that truly sparked joy for me.

First photo is wedding night, second photo is when I came here first to ask for options! I chose the dress over another that before Reddit I was leaning toward and I am so thankful I went this direction.

Thank you everyone 🥰

Signed,
A happy bride (and wife!)
