Watching the episode I love how the didn't do the whole you are responsible for my daughter's death cliche but instead Dwight and Marcia love and respect monk and kept in touch with him

Barton Fink (1991), Monk (2002-2009), Cars 2 (2011)

randy telling Sharon's sis he shaved his mustache so people wouldn't get him confused with captain stottlemeyer who also has a mustache that never stops being funny .

After Sharona finds out that Adrian is speaking gibberish following the earthquake, she calls Dr. Kroger who says that it's a dissociative episode which likely shorted out the "occipital lobe in the left hemisphere of his brain, which controls the ability to speak and form words."

The left occipital lobe interprets visual data that comes from the right-side field of view for both eyes. I'm guessing what he likely meant was Broca's Area, which is found in the left frontal lobe. Seems odd that a psychiatrist would get that wrong (or rather, that the writers would miss that), but I thought it was a fun detail.

What on Earth do you think is in this stack of cards?

Do you like apples?

Dear fellow Monk-ophiles,

As you have probably seen, there are not any very challenging Monk trivia questions online, so I put together a few myself! I'm pretty sure they're all correct, but if not please let me know. These are what was on the top of my head, if you have any good ones put them in the comments and I can add them. As the greatest detective in the universe would say, you'll thank me later. I thought about adding which episode the answer is found, maybe later

What is Monk's suit size? 42 Regular

What is Leland Stottlemeyer's middle name? Francis

How many years did Monk spend in high school? one

What award has Ambrose Monk won 5 times? "Nisimu" Award, The National Society of Instruction Manual Writers

According to Ambrose, how many languages does he speak? Seven and a half

How many instances of Monk giving an incorrect summation (here's what happened) can you name? I believe there's 5: Two are from Mr. Monk and the Garbage Strike (Alice Cooper and The Mayor), One from Mr Monk Gets Hypnotized (Guy dies of embarrassment), One from Mr Monk and the Missing Granny (in the summation, Monk thinks the kidnappers had a cat and thats why they went to the victims house), and One from Mr Monk and the Blackout (Monk did not figure out that Michelle Rivas the Power plant manager was involved somehow (this is easily provable))! Honorable Mention Mr Monk and the Naked Man, he never technically gave the summation accusing the nudist

What shampoo does Monk use? Pantene for dry hair

How many different musical instruments does Randy play in the show? 5: Electric guitar, Acoustic guitar, piano, steel drum, one man drum kit (bass drum and cymbals)

How did Monk get Trudy's phone number? Bonus Question what book was Trudy looking for when they met? Trudy's "friend" wrote it on his back. Trevor Rosenthall's biography of Alexander Pope Vol. 2

Trudy faked her death as per that one episode. She went to that dermatologist to get a super realistic mask that she wears when out in public. She still lives in San Francisco and is lovers with Stottlemeyer who is the one who helped her fake her death. Monk spots them boinking when he goes over to Stottlemeyers place to discuss a case

So monk is probably my favorite show of all time I’ve rewatched it and made everyone in my life watch it more times then I can count but, I’ve healed of on watching the movie because to me monk had the perfect ending to a show it makes me cry every time and I never cry he finally moves on and in my head cannon becomes a detective again, when I heard they were making a movie I was so excited but then it came out and I heard that they completely reset his character, he doesn’t get the happy ending monk truly deserved and he’s almost worse then he was before and that just makes me sad, but my wife really wants to watch the movie with me so I’ve got to ask fellow monk fans should I finely give up my protest and watch the movie.

If yes pls show us! :)

Does anyone else find it strange that in 'Mr Monk Stays in Bed', the episode begins with Natalie wallpapering Adrian's hallway? As someone who hates change, to the point of needing the same toothbrush and lamp when his breaks, this seems so incongruous! As it brings nothing to the plotline of the episode I wonder why it was included? Also, the hallway seems to revert back to an unwallpapered state later!

I'm just wondering if it's generally agreed that the Snoop Dogg episode is supposed to be about p Diddy and biggie smalls and the writers are basically flat out saying p Diddy killed biggie?

this episode is too good. the dog was a great actor too

In the episode were they think a man is killing all Julie teegers while at the first juiles house a cop gets a call telling him about Julie #2 he claims it's her because he is looking at the driver's license

Natalie should have realized it wasn't her daughter because Julie didn't have a driver's license at that moment

In the Jason Alexander episode Monk claims you can't taste dirt and tell where it's from. This is also a wrong. Anybody who ever did ffa knows about the dirt identification challenged/contest where people literally taste dirt in order to identify it. If Jason can (pretend) to know where the car has been based on the bug then logically a person can tell where a car might have been based on the dirt

Let me know if I am missing anything!

"there was a bomb"

I just finished rewatching the finale and I think it is one of the best ever! The way they tie everything up so perfectly is satisfying and heartwarming! I also love the callback to the pilot (the stove being on). Just a perfect ending to a perfect show!

Hopefully this doesn't break any rules, but I thought the sub would appreciate the cake me and my brothers had made for our mother. It's her favourite show and she's actually the one who got me into Monk, funnily enough lol

As you can see, Mr. Monk noticed a smudge on one of the corners and just had to clean it up, much to the dismay of Natalie

There are some episodes that are consistently in the top favorites (garbage strike, three pies, the kid) but what is an episode that you think deserves more love?

Hey everyone, have you noticed any inconsistencies in the series that you would like to share? Or anything that's wildly implausible?

I'm always baffled how Monk hates to touch anything and is obsessed with hygiene but yet he wears shoes on his couch and touches the sides with his soles. Or how he doesn't need a tissue for when he touches every bollard on his path.

Have you noticed more of these?

I’ve gotten like 2 1/2 to 3 seasons into this show but i havent watched it in a long time so im restarting since i basically remember nothing. Im on the first episode again and so far what confuses me is that Leland kept explaining away Monks reasonings for things. Like when Monk called him out for him and his wife having problems and he said “how did you know that” and Monk listed reasons why he knew that and Leland looked confused. Or like when he didnt believe Monk when he said the suspect is over 6’3 tall and that there were no skid marks on the road so that meant the car crash was not an accident. But if Leland was Monks watch commander back when Monk was still on the force, then shouldn’t he have known Monk just knew things and shouldn’t even question it or be confused at this point? Because im so confused by this, i thought maybe somehow after his wife’s accident he fell into his mental illness then thats what caused him to be Sherlock-like although i know thats stupid reasoning. Is there some kind of explaination to this or is it just a “its a new show and we need a way to show what he does is amazing and people just cant believe how right he is all the time” type thing. Thanks in advance.
