08-13 granturismo reliability?
I’m already in love with the car, talk me off the ledge. Looking at buying one as my main car. 10k miles a year. I’m a retired mechanic turned engineer. I’m aware of the VVT issues. My main concerns are part prices and how limited I’ll be without the factory scan tool. Basically don’t want my wife to kill me in a year. TIA

Why did Maserati kill the stunning Boomerang lights? The definitive answer...
From the horse's mouth.
Spoiler: internal political posturing. It's so sad that such an incredible piece of design was destroyed for the the dullest of reasons.
(Hat tip to Magneto, an old copy of which I was recently perusing).

Just got a Fuoriserie Levante!
2023 with 30k miles! Got a few questions though: what’s that little lever/knob in the front of the bottom of the driver’s seat? And the display between the gauges, there’s what looks like a road/lane under the speed; is it supposed to display anything or is that it?? And what’s the “night” speed limit that it’s showing?
Any other tips/things to look out for please let me know!

2017 Maserati Ghibli 12k
I was scrolling on marketplace, and found a 2017 maserari ghibli “doesn’t start”. How smart of a financial decision is this and what would the possible scenarios cost to fix. (medium mechanic skills. Can do al basic maintenance my self. Dad used to be a mechanic)

Should I buy?
First time looking at a Maserati. It is a 2015 Ghibili Q4 with 132,000kms. It has 4 collisions and is rebuilt status but has been re-certified and passed safety inspection. Price is $10,500 CAD which is only reason I’m considering it. Please let me know if this is worth it or not.

Looking for: 2017 Levante wiring diagrams
Customer spilled a ton of coffee or liquid in around gear shifter. We pulled it out and could see the amount of liquid spilled. Our autel scanner(way above introductory level) communicates with it no issue however bc of its current state we cannot communicate with the transmission. The gear shifter has been replaced with a salvage piece already by another shop.

Buying 2020 Ghibli SQ4 after seeing its accident history? Is it bad idea?
Hey guys!
I'm considering buying a 2020 Maserati Ghibli SQ4 (430 HP) that was imported from the US to my country after an accident.
Here are the original auction photos showing the damage:
https://bid.cars/pl/lot/0-34537075/2020-Maserati-Ghibli-ZAM57YTS5L1356726
VIN: ZAM57YTS5L1356726
The current owner imported the car to Poland about 3 years ago and has since driven approximately 50,000 km (31,000 miles) in it.
He told me he didn't import it to flip it for profit, but rather bought it for himself and intended to keep it. According to him, that's also why he invested in genuine OEM parts instead of cheaper aftermarket replacements.
The current owner claims the car was repaired using genuine OEM parts. He seems pretty open about its history and has also agreed to a full pre-purchase inspection at an official Maserati dealership. He has also shared carfax report.
He claims the following parts were replaced, all with genuine OEM Maserati parts:
- Entire suspension (according to him, all of it was replaced)
- Complete front end: front bumper, full LED headlights, hood, fenders, radiator support, radiators, wheel arch liners, and various plastic components
- Windshield
- Dashboard, airbags, and seat belts, including an original OEM dashboard
He says all these repairs were done using genuine parts and is completely open to having the car inspected at any independent workshop or official Maserati dealership of my choice.
That willingness to allow a thorough inspection seems like a positive sign to me, especially considering he's already driven around 31,000 miles since the repairs.
However, I'm still concerned about the extent of the original damage and whether there could be any hidden structural or long-term reliability issues.
Would you personally consider buying this car, or is it an immediate red flag?
I'd really appreciate some opinions from fellow Maserati owners.
Thanks!

Should I buy out my 2023 Grecale GT?
In January 2024, I leased a 2023 Grecale GT. It was a former floor model that they had to get rid of, and I got a great deal because of the circumstances and a trade in, paying $711/month. It has been a great, fun car to drive. But the lease is going to expire in April 2027 and I need to figure out what to do. The biggest factor is that it only has 13,000 miles. The residual value is $38,000. I’ve spoken to a few third parties (LeaseEnd and Carmax) and the KBB value is over $40,000. My original plan was to buy out the lease and keep my monthly payment the same, drive it for a few more years, and then trade it in for whatever then makes sense using the equity to keep those lease payments low. That all makes sense for now but I’m cognizant of the massive depreciation. In three years will I be in a position where I owe more on the car than it’s worth? Any experience with this would be greatly appreciated!

Maserati Key Fob Snobs
I picked up a mint 2023 Maserati Grecale Trofeo out of state. Dealer gave me 2 spotless key fobs. And I noticed that one of the key fobs didn't work when I got home, thinking it just needs a battery.
During a recent Maserati routine software update a few months later at a dealership near my home, I decided to ask them to put in a battery in the 2nd key fob.
They came back telling me that the dealer I purchased from must've given me the wrong key from for another car. I told them OK, how much to reprogram it for my car? They told me $400. I said OK, do it.
Now, for some ODD reason, they're telling me that they can't reprogram the key because it belongs to another car!?! I'm like then why did you quote me a reprogramming fee???
Is this some marketing ploy BS for me to buy another key fob??? I am not going to pay $1250+ for the same key fob that I know they can reprogram. What kind of silliness is this?
Am I able to get this new current key fob programmed for my car?
Or is this just another usual Maserati c*ck block?
I know Maserati's have snobbish rules for their cars. Like turning off the "change oil" light costing me $350 because I decided to use my own master mechanic to do a simple oil change for me.
Are there any locksmiths out that can reprogram my key fob to my car?
I should've stayed in my Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio.
Let me know... thanks everyone.

2019 Ghibli SQ4 transmission service?
I have a 2019 Ghibli SQ4 with just under 50k miles.
My independent mechanic recommends doing the transmission fluid, pan and filter around 60k. Maserati told me it has “lifetime fluid” and recommended leaving it alone.
It shifts a little more aggressively in Sport mode, but otherwise shifts fine with no slipping or warning lights.
Would you guys service it around 60k or leave the factory fluid alone? Anyone actually done the service and noticed a difference?

MC20 - I pulled the trigger!
I had been considering an MC20 for about a year. I finally found the car that I wanted. 2023 with only 95 miles on the clock. Brand new car essentially with nearly all its factory warranty still in place. It is such a pretty car and I am excited about ownership.

Looking at a 2011-2012 Quattroporte S
Been looking into a 2011 or 2012 Quattroporte S for a little while now, and I am completely willing to travel for the adventure of finding the right car, so I’ve found a few options. My top option has a great carfax, but the valve cover gaskets were done at both 25k miles and then again at 42k miles. Would this have just been a bad job the first time? I know valve cover gaskets on the 4.7 are definitely a while you’re in there type thing for the alternator and such, but I’ve never heard of them only lasting 17k miles. It doesn’t look like the second time doing them was a “while you’re in there” thing either. Does this indicate more underlying problems I may be looking past? The service history is impeccable and I like the spec.

2016 Maserati Ghibli, total engine failure, any thoughts?
Hello everyone,
I actually own a 2016 Maserati Ghibli SQ4 with a LCI body kit on it.
The car has approx. 120.000kms on it
I'm a mechanic myself and decided to do the timing chain, because it's the main issue on these engines
Everything went alright and car ran fun until few weeks ago
The car started misfiring on one full bank, so I've shutted the car off and tried to restart it, which never did.
After further inspection, the oil filter collapsed on itself with full aluminium flakes in it...
The engine is not rod knocking or anything, so I wonder where those flakes are from?
Maybe the engine block?
Maybe the timing chain kit was poor quality and chain just destroyed the entire chain guides and started rubbing agains the block?
Any idea are welcome
