The characters seem diluted and dumb
Direction is glib and haphazard
The storylines are glaringly predictable
The acting by some key characters is binary, jumping from either wooden, to overacting…

Was this limited run of seasons an outlier just to use production budget?…

For such a well known and loved graphic novel/comic book series, this seems like a huge misstep and a huge missed opportunity.

It seems that this was forcefully manipulated to appeal to young teenagers, showing all adults to be ignorantly misunderstanding kids and teenagers.

Currently watching episode 6 of season 3 and expecting to be disappointed further…

No spoilers please

At first, I really didn’t like it…bode and Kinsey were almost intolerable and bode remained pretty obnoxious the entire seasons but setting that aside …easily one of my favorite shows, sad it never gets suggested to people!!

Saw another post the other day about rage quitting after bode in season 3 which was hilarious because I almost did. Super glad I finished and would highly recommend to anyone who doesn’t care terribly about bad acting. Really wish there were more shows I haven’t seen out there like it!

Made this a year ago cause I love the comic and the audible audiobook. Just the opening so far, but one day I’ll finish the whole series as a fun project for myself. First attempt at ever doing anything like this, so I know I can definitely improve on transitions and holds on comic panels.

End of season 3, when they're tossing all the keys into the demon hole in the floor, they missed one!

The tiny house key that goes to the Keyhouse model. How tf did the producers miss that one?!

keys are cool, i admit it, but its nowhere near the best shape to make damn magical artifacts! the whispering metal is clearly able to work in any shape it is given, not only keys, but they keep making damn keys with it for powerfull artifacts, even when it is counter productive.

For example, the key that opens any door to any other door is fine, but the sword key, or the skin key, just make a sword and a mirror bruh, they keep making keys with powers that shouldnt be on damn keys, and keys themselves are not a good shape for an artifact, it can be easily stolen or lost, why not make rings, pendants and jewlery that is harder to remove, the shadow crown is okay-ish, except for the fact that it also needs a damn key to work! aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

bruh i’m so irritated w bode i quit the whole show 😭 s2 almost got me there w kenzie being worst character OAT. she’s cool now ig but still mostly annoying and now bode funky ass. i’m getting ragebaited💔💔💔

Does anyone know where I find actually accurate keys from the tv show? I don't wanna have to pay hundreds to have someone create 25 separate keys.

⚠️⚠️⚠️SPOILERS FOR THIRD SEASON⚠️⚠️⚠️

We see her briefly in one episode and then she just randomly materialises at the Key House cuz she was worried about Ty? Girl 💀 yall ever had was a work relationship why u being creepy and driving through the entirety of Montana and to him. If the roles were reversed it would be classified as stalking. I cannot be the only one who thought that her behaviour is a red flag ⛳️⛳️⛳️ Not to mention how she went "someone forgot to mention me, its okay I dont get offended" when Kinsey didnt know who she was. Genuinely girl?? You are offended, gtfo? And when Ty offered an extra room she can take during her stay she went all upset cuz she didnt get to sleep in his bed 💀 She needs a reality check fr.

I feel like I kinda figured it out for myself by the end of the question but I’ll still ask for opinions anyhow.

Could Chamberlin do what Sam did and go into an empty body while the door is open with the key or is it only those ‘spirits’ that got ripped from a body via the key activated door?

I haven’t had a chance to read the source yet so I’m curious as to if there is actual defined rules for it (if the key even exists in the comics.)

So I think I’ve only read Welcome to Lovecraft, but I don’t know, the last thing that happened was the three Lock kids finding the omega key in there father’s ashes and I need to know the rest, so would I go to Head Games or is that all part of what I have read yet? I honestly don’t know

I’ve only read summaries of the source material, reading them is on my todo list. But, this is solely about the show.

So, we see in season 1, via Duncan’s memory that Dodge was killed pretty much immediately after turning (lived a few hours and died that night.) So, the keepers never actually interacted with Dodge in any real way beyond ‘stop, please, what did you do!?!’ So, with that in mind, how does Erin know ‘dodge lies, she manipulates’ etc etc when telling the kids it wasn’t their fault about tossing Ellie through the door?

I’m on ep 5 and it’s like she’s completely absent from their lives and have no idea what her idiot children are up to

I've created some new 3d based on the comics Locke and Key .

- The Music Box

- The Letters Box

- The Aging Clock

And much more on Cults3d

I'm trying to make a working Music box .

Recently my younger siblings got into lovecraft/Locke and Key specifically,

So I printed all the keys I could find and set up an mp3 player with whispering audio sfx that go off when I want them to find a specific key.

I know the colors for the keys aren't exactly correct but I wanted to make them as close to the base colors as possible.

But fuck me does Kinzie get my blood boiling, straight bitch 100% of the time. Actress is so good at the role lol

And unrelated but I’m putting this in writing: I’m calling it now Gabe is evil

So for context, I was someone who read the comics much later after I watched the adaptation show. I loved the series in adaptation form, and I was itching to find hard copies of the graphic novels somewhere, so I was delighted to learn that my local library had them.

And yeah. They fix literally every problem I have with the show besides one. The slight reworking of the head key to be less broken. NOT combining Jamal and Scot into one character. Dodge being an overall more interesting and clever villain, and Sam Lesser actually being terrifying. Hell, even a lot of the keys which didn’t turn into huge plot elements in the show became considerably more interesting in the comics.

However, there’s three or so keys that the show actually did more with than the comics— that being Angel, Hercules, and Harlequin. Hercules I kind of give a pass to considering Scot’s use of it in the final confrontation and reason for him lasting so long after being alpha keyed, but Harlequin and Angel get basically nothing. It’s a shame, really, cause I LOVE what they did with the Angel Key in the show. If I’m forgetting a specific use of it besides what Jackie did in the finale, PLEASE tell me!

In episode 1 and already hate all the characters and the lack of communication.
