Is the student life there good? Or is everyone just there to strictly study. I’ve heard that it’s very quiet there

I am a rising senior from Texas, and I am thinking of applying to IIT as a premed, but I'd like to hear from others about their experience. Are there good opportunities (like research) and resources for premed? Is it difficult to maintain a high GPA? Is it good for premed overall? Do they offer good financial aid? I appreciate all input, even if you are not a premed student. Thank you in advance

Hi everyone, I'm one of the volunteers in charge, and want to make sure you're aware of our hackathon sign up. We'd love to have some IIT students at our free event in November! Info below and a couple quick notes:

• Our host, 1871, has room for 300 people.  If you want to be at the hackathon please sign up for the in-person option even if there is a large waitlist.  Given the rate of no-shows and cancellations, we expect to offer spots to several hundred people from the waiting list.  We may explore some overflow space nearby if demand warrants it.
• There is a new theme and the hackathon has moved within NASA to Citizen Science. This year’s challenges may be used to get the next man or woman to the moon and beyond.  
• We know that the job market is difficult this year, and we're doing our best to make sure that this is a great opportunity to network.  So far we have Microsoft,, CBOE Global Markets, and Optiver as sponsors and are actively working to bring in a couple other companies that are hiring.

a lot of students this year weren’t able to, or are experiencing delay in receiving visas because of our current gov. administration meaning IIT is losing a lot of tuition money.

personally learning this made me more empathetic for the decision to open an institute in mumbai but it sucks to be a current student disadvantaged by this decision. and given that they had intent to do this for some time now, being that a lot of alumni are international students from india, i doubt the Mumbai institute is the sole reason we are in financial strain rn.

Hey everyone, I am a current student at IIT. In recent years, many accounts and accusations of mistreatment and abuse of power have surfaced about the current Dean of Students, Katherine Stetz. I am trying to gather information for a whistleblower story about her abuses mistreatments, and other possibly illegal things she may have done. If anyone in the alumni or current student population have any information regarding these things or are willing to anonymously or non-anonymously testify about these things, please DM me. With this schools current administration doing what they’re doing, I think it’s about time we not only take care of our upper level admin, but make sure we clean the whole slate. Is there any student organisations in iit?

Just got a false eviction notice saying that I have to leave dorms because I'm not registered for classes, when I registered well over a week ago.

What the fuck is happening at the admin level? way behind on loan disbursements, can't pull documents, can't verify enrollment statuses.

Anyone else having issues? Partially venting but this shit is driving me insane.

Has anyone taken ChE 535 and has previous study content to share? I’m starting a ChemE masters after a year outta undergrad (Biochem, so I don’t have any engineering background other than my job but we don’t do all this math irl 😭). I recently got an offer from Illinois Institute of Technology, Mumbai Campus for Computer Science with a ₹24 lakh scholarship.

I'm seriously considering joining, but I'm a little unsure and wanted some honest advice from current students or alumni.

I've also read about faculty layoffs at the Chicago campus and some concerns about Illinois Tech's current financial situation, so that has made me a bit more cautious, especially since this is a big investment for my family.

How is the Mumbai campus actually in terms of academics, faculty, placements, internships, coding culture and opportunities?

Would you personally recommend joining Illinois Tech Mumbai for CS?

And is anyone here joining the Mumbai campus this year?

I'd really appreciate honest opinions, both good and bad. Please share anything you think I should know before making a decision.
